COMMON ALLERGIES FOR AKITA

My akits is having unsolved skin issues and dander, hot spots on groin and legs. I wish you had actual solutions and products you use or prefer. He's been to the vet they said possible chicken allergy. Been feeding him turkey instead. Nothing had helped yet.

my beautiful Akita is and has always had food allergies…she’s allergic to chicken especially and everything food wise but her diet now and for ever is salmon and sweet potato…she gets tinned salmon and I cook her fresh sweet potatoes every day…she gets freshly cooked carrots and garden peas with that and also I cut up smoked salmon and add a load of that into it…she has importantly fresh Scottish salmon oil also added into it…8 pumps per meal…it keeps her coat shiny helps her not feel itchy and is gr8 for her joints and brain health…before I realised she had food allergies she was constantly on antibiotics which makes their eyes a bit weepy…it wasn’t gr8…but her salmon & sweet potato diet is the key…she also has salmon & sweet potato holistic dog biscuits with no gluten or wheat in them…it’s been a godsend because she used to naw her tummy and pull her fur out around her back end…she made such a mess of herself it was soul destroying and I felt helpless…but now it couldn’t be different…I was fortunate that one of my vets knew a lot about Akitas and put her onto this diet…thank god…you have to be strict but it’s so worth it…anyone with an Akita reading this that has been doing the same as she was…please try switching to her diet of everything I mentioned…you will start seeing improvements I’m sure…no tip bits of anything else in between…if you want to give them a treat get the holistic salmon and sweet potato dog biscuits or give them a bit of fresh sweet potato…I hope this helps some of you…🐾🐕🐾

I have an Akita Inu, he's kinda allergic to everything: pork, beef, chicken etc... most common proteins, grain, rise and soya, also environmental allergies for mites and certain plants. I figured out the food allergies by trial and error and had to resort to full blood allergy analysis to get to the environmental data. Now he gets a shot once per month to build up resistance to top 3 environmental triggers and I have him on horse meat and vegetable based diet. All goes well, however sometimes he snatches up bread from the street or steals the cats food and gets an itchy snout or a rash on his belly the next day. Highly recommend to go to the vet asap when you see bold spots, persistent rash on the belly or small bleeding wounds on the paws.

My Akita doesn’t have any physical signs but is having issues breathing same as human with allergies. Any recommendations?

I think my dog have allergies but I don't know for sure she started to scratch and bite her lower back and I already gave here a bath 3 weeks ago and she took her flea pill a week ago so maybe it's allergies but if so from what I give her hypoallergenic food and I have allergies for cleaning supplies so I buy only organic cleaning products no bleach or anything from that sort

Positive feedback as we have a 100 lbs Akita with allergies where it is a challenge to get the right dog food
