A lot of the water pumps where replaced y see warranty, re the battery mine went on my 2016 originally in 6 months was a joke. Sold mine last month 100k miles tuned from day 1 never had any engine issues. Dsg is pretty bullet proof.

Heating mirrors only put on when u deed it yes it does fall off

Bought one in June, been in the garage for three months...(busy garage) it was in and out...then back in. P0011 and P0016 codes. New chain fitted and now the P0016 code is still flagging and cutting out/limp mode. Major service now and probably a few sensors to be replaced. Ridiculous! Thermostat etc changed, new clutch, chain and loads of sensors changed. Ridiculous for a VW and sitting at 67k miles. Owned it since June (5 months) driven it a handful of times! Nice!

I picked up the dreaded Covid about 3 months ago and it’s definitely no joke 🥵 after the initial acute phase it leaves you feeling pretty drained for a long time afterwards 💩. . . so take it easy my friend, we’ll all still be here when you are feeling up to it 😎

Hope you soon feel better. Some years ago my 2014 Mk 7R developed leak on the plastic sump plug, the dealership replaced the sump under warranty.

The Golf R I have here knocks when accelerating, not a loud knock but you can physically feel it. Anyone here know what it could be?

Hi Sam. Get better soon mate👍. I know mines a polo gti , however I believe the service interval is the same on a golf gti and golf R regarding the gearbox (dgs) I have mine done by VW and they did not mention my dsg needed a service at 40k even though I had just had a major service, I complained and they gave it me for free as I was 3k over... very poor of vw in my opinion as the threshold for a vw warranty is only 1k either way 🤷‍♂️. Get better soon mate

Gotta agree with the comment about main dealers. Whilst the service itself is usually good enough in my experience I think they've just got so many jobs on in their over subscribed service bays that they don't have time to love and care for the car like an enthusiastic specialist would. That said I'd probably stick with them for routine servicing for a bit longer as your awesome R is still new enough for them to offer a goodwill contribution were it suffer some mechanical malady. Hope you get well soon bud - covid is no joke - and your hot hatches remain in fine fettle 👊

Speedy recovery mate had covid in jan and completly still wipped out and have 0 energy hope you get better soon

Hey Sam. Hope you get better soon. I’ve had two mk7s which both suffered creaky suspension when going over speed bumps. Turned out it was the wish bone bushings that needed removing and lubricating in both cases. Cost £157 (!!!) at main dealer each time although one was covered by warrantee. From what I’ve read in forums this is pretty common on our cars. Also had the drivers side mirror fall of and shatter twice!

The turning radius on my MK7.5 is utter dog sh*t. Never had such a poor turning radius in any vehicle I've owned. My old MKV R32 and current E63 Wagon is light years better than the MK7.5 turning radius.

I am really suprised to hear this! I have to say my MK7 R is one of the best cars I have ever owned for the turning radius so perhaps they changed something in the MK7.5? My previous cars have been MK7.5 Fiesta STs for reference which have the worst turning radius of all time 😅 I love the E63 wagon and many congrats on your cars as the R32 is also something very special with that engine 👍
