Great Sales Kevin and family and I’m looking forward to the dibbits #’s to see if it’s worth me putting all my scrapbook lots over there for sale. Too try to recoup some of my $$ but for another seller to make $$. I just need to clear house and my moms farm bldgs. I have over $30,000 in scrapbook you name it I have it - providing my mom hasn’t taken it and given it away like so much of expensive stuff. Wow it finally reappeared after threatening to press charges. Telling her we had them on camera. ❤😂 Stay Safe and God Bless! The worst thing I ever did was sell my house. Shame on me!

For the hats, use the long flat under the bed bins as mentioned below, BUT make a bank of shelves to hold one bin each. Stacked on its own shelf. Then you just slide the bin out, visually see which hat you need. No more digging through large bins.

Thinking a show on how you have learned this vital part of online sales. (Does not do a lot of good to sell 30 items if 5 break and shipping costs you $12 each.) Thanks. Learned a lot. Have you ever analyzed free vs item + shipping sales? I am assuming that the buyer is just looking at overall pricing?
@joeykirby22749 ай бұрын
A few years back, the shipping rates for heavier items were really impacting profits from higher ebay fees and the possibility of high return shipping, so I leaned towards more items under a pound. Now the shipping rates for the items under a pound are hurting sales and cutting into profits. And now as well the shipping prices for heavier items have really come back to earth and make it more feasible to sell heavier items. Sell through rate is the most important factor in what to sell, but shipping rates are definitely a driving catalyst that affects buyer decisions which in turn could have an effect on sell through rates as well. Oh the ever changing ebay evolution can be exhausting!

Like Kevin said, time is money. When I sold jewelry, the items were in baggies in named bins, lightweight and quick to pack and ship. But..if I couldn't sell it for at least $20 I didn't buy it, and the buy price had to be about 25% of the sell price. Any more, not worth the effort. Literally. Now it would be $40/$50 because the lower value items aren't selling anyway. Or weren't the last I looked. Bulk lots either - the shipping ate into the selling price too much. I still resell to other dealers, but the leftovers get donated mostly. Better charities make money off of them than I make Groundhog Day work for myself trying to deal with it.
@johnmyers57329 ай бұрын
You might have some challenges with training your customers that 30% off = closeout. I don't know your particular clientele but I can't say that for sure. Marketing-wise these days, 30% off is more like a regular promotional price. When I get those (dozens of) 5% off Best Offers from eBay sellers, I don't even bother to click through because 5% is totally invisible as a discount. It's usually pennies, or a buck or two on the price range I'm shopping online. 20-25% would get my attention. Anything around that range most consumers would see as a decent sale price. "Clearance" is more like 50% and above: we've been trained by the Outlet stores, clearance shelves in the back of the store, etc. Of course the best thing to do is test. See what the turn on clearance is over X amount of time. If it's not paying the rent within the test period, you just move on to the next test. :)

@DeborahAiles9 ай бұрын
I've been bundling stuff for years that doesn't sell, or I have too many of.....just bundle and move! I have a big yard sale at least once a year. Stuff that isn't doing anything.....yard sale! After that....make a pile at the end of the driveway...neighbors come take it....and then I donate what's left. It needs to go...find a process. WhatNot and platforms like that...NOT happening. I'm DONE with stuff!
@cowboypatriot60529 ай бұрын
You need to sell at 3x what you pay minimum for the slow dime model or at least 2x what you pay for the quick nickel model or it is barely worth your time. You risk loosing money if you lower your asp below these thresholds. It's about averaging Good sales must pay for bad buys unforseen losses of time and money and still have profit left. *this is my business perspective not hobby perspective.
