I finally used the search function on youtube to find exactly what I need - and it's your channel! I tend to overdo. I have some hypermobility, and perennial poor muscle tone in certain ways. Over the years, my dear sweet body has worked so hard to let me do the things I want to do. I wish I had known these things from childhood, but it's never too late to go through it now and give my body the care it deserves. I hope it will right some wrongs, make amends, and maybe I will relearn how to set goals for myself so my body and I can both get what we need from life. ❤

This is something I recently realized. My first PT pushed me too hard and everything was about strength training. My body already feels like it's tensing up and squeezing constantly, so no wonder those extra movements were overwhelming to my nervous system. I'm trying to find things that work for me. I started doing gentle yoga videos on here and I even find those hard, but I'm not hypermobile that I know of, so at least it's not worsening my pain. I really appreciate your content and definitely months ago before my back worsened, a lot of your videos helped with my pain, but things structurally in my body feel a bit different now. It's a good reminder to just honor the body's capacity and to focus on relaxing these sympathetic activation responses we neurodivergent and/or hypermobile people tend to get stuck in. Thanks for discussing such an important topic!

I just found out my breathing pattern issue and just after a day of correcting it has changed my world. Before my breathing was actually making it worse. Nothing ever calmed me completely, body numb or in pain, feeling disjointed and incomplete…. Now can feel a lot more and less pain…amazing. For anyone out there, wave breathing has helped correct it. In belly, in chest, hold 2 seconds, out chest, out belly hold 2 seconds repeat. And the videos in this channel really help esp with rib slippage! ❤

Thanks for this! It validates what I have finally - in my late 60s - come to believe about how best to approach exercise in my hypermobile body. I have a tendency to feel like I am just being lazy, so this is a good reminder.

This is advice I need SO BAD because I've been pushed so much by trainers and physical therapists so It's hard to undo that "push it to the limit" mentality. I'm going to try to be even more gentle now!

Hi Jeannie, I’m new here 👋 I came across your videos last week and it is so helpfull! I have been struggling with EDS for 10 years now and a lot of what you’re explaining is new to me. Thank you so so much for sharing your knowledge. What you’re explaining really makes sense. I’ve been doing the same exercises for years and years now. So when I tried yours, it felt like I was doing it wrong. But afterwards it felt way better. Thank you so much!

Hi Jeannie just found you! Im healing from ME/CFS. Im doing a nervous system healing program called the Primal Trust and its truly brilliant. The lady who runs it is a PT and talks about cervical instability being a contributing factor to chronic illness. I have Chiari and cervical spondylosis. I reckon cci but no idea how to get that diagnosed in the UK. Ive heard the CCI issues can cause compression on the vagus nerve causing dysregulation. Ive managed to get a physio appointment on NHS but just feels i cant see anyone who understands everything! You sound like you know so much about my condition! Do you know much about me/cfs? Looking forward to warching more of your video's/exercises.. Laura x

I sometimes feel like I can do more exercise but I will pay if I do it for at least the next day and maybe for several days.

Yes I always say EDS tricks us. Always slow and low.
