Lae'zel was the one to speak for me, so my tav was getting pressured to stay in the terrifying death machine until it blew up. Now they can use Survival Instinct as a bonus action!

I never actually tried this with my tav. I saw no downside to letting Laezel go first, you get approval since it’s what she wants and she takes the risk. Kind of realised it’s not going to be a miracle cure so early and also because the gith are scary! Astarion also shows concern for her, if you fail the speech check to persuade her to get out of there he gets stressed and yells at you, saying something like so is the plan to just let her die?! On the one hand, it’s like hey dude I am trying to help here! But on the other, it’s quite sweet for him to show he cares about his allies.

There IS a downside to letting Lae’zel enter the zathisk. I got stuck with a -6 skills debuff spanned across 3 skill areas, and I was stuck with it the rest of the game. My brother only had a -2 debuff to one skill though, so I’m not sure what dictates how much of a debuff it’ll give her. When I put my Tav in it first playthrough, I didn’t get any of those debuff applied to me.

Sure, he could alter their perception if it suited him, but why would he bother when what he needs them to believe is happening matches the reality of what’s happening? I guess Voss could be lying about what the zath’isk does too, and their interests just happened to align, but it seems like a stretch given everything else that happens at the crèche.

I'm not sure how this was supposed to play out if it did work. We later find out that it just sucks out your memories and kills you. So, it kills us and the rest of our party is like "Ok cool, who's next?"

No Halsin is only available in shadowlands and Act3, if you try to ho back to act1 zones with him, he will just say that he needs to stay and that he will wait in vamp until you come back
