Can you discuss the lawsuits against dr. Brown bottles? We used them in the beginning and now are worried about the harmful chemicals they potentially have. We now use evenflo classic glass bottles and they work really well and heat breastmilk quickly

Plastic is a concern no matter what brand, they just happen to be victims of a lawsuit. I switched to glass myself.

Adding the hot water for formula dramatically increases the number of microplastics- we are gently warming my breastmilk in them, or ideally I’m pumping directly into it and feeding from that fresh. Either way they will leech microplastics, but waaayyy worse as temp increases. Unfortunately, we consume so many microplastics unknowingly that brand spanking new borns have been found to already have microplastics in them and found in the placenta. I’d like to switch to glass once my baby gets a little bigger/eating more proficiently still though.

@@DogDocLou I exclusively pump and try to feed fresh when able to as well. Like my original comment said, I really like our glass evenflo classic bottles. They do a great job heating his milk and are pretty inexpensive compared to other glass bottles

We just switched from Dr. Brown's narrow and Philips Avent to the Evenflo Balance + wide and it has helped TREMENDOUSLY with my little guy's latch on both bottle and breast. Much less air, gas, and spitup! I wish the bottles themselves felt sturdier though... the Evenflo bottle materials feel kind of cheap and I'm not sure how long they will last us. That's my only complaint!

The dr. Browns anti colic bottle is exacly whst they started my baby on in the NICU perfect for pre mature babies. 1 month later were using the even flo glass bottles. As an earlier comment stated they heat breastmilk very quickly.

For those worried about warming plastic bottles. Use glass, or try what I didn't do. I didn't warm the bottles. Our babies had no problem drinking room temp or even out of the fridge. Realize that not all babies will do that, but it definitely made life easier.

My baby's latch on the breast became super shallow and uncomfortable when he was on the Dr Brown's narrow bottles. We switched to the wide neck version and it's no problem at all to switch back and forth

What do you think about the Kiinde silicone bottles? (Not the refill ones, just the regular bottle), these were gifted to us. We chose to purchase the glass Dr.Brown’s bottles, seemed like the best option all around. It’s definitely hard not to get overwhelmed with all the options, concerns, & things to consider. I’m hoping to exclusively breastfeed but we wanted to have a few bottles on hand in case we needed them.

Dr brown bottles are among the top brands hated in the baby room at the daycare i work at. Sure that filter thing is a cool concept, but it is a pain to clean, even with a straw or bottle cleaner. But if you don't use the filter, the nipple sucks itself into the bottle making it so baby can't get milk out as easily and gets more air with the feeding. I don't recommend them.

NUK First Choice or Perfect Match are much better than NUK Nature Sense. They also come in glass. I have some NUK First Choice and Nature Sense and some Medela classic and Calma. My baby was pretty much getting mouth on to the base. I want to know what do you think about Medela bottles.

So glad you’re doing this! Our baby is 6 weeks and we just started introducing a bottle - Dr. Brown’s narrow. She seems to have to work much harder at bottle feeding than breastfeeding and is still hungry after 30 min with the bottle. Maybe we need to try a different one.

Check that all the pieces are together correctly and maybe try a higher flow nipple depending on her age. Don't go too high though so she doesn't develop a flow preference!

Omg my dad and step mom used the dr brown bottles for my little brother and they were amazing however i will say i hated cleaning the green thing on the inside however in 10 years when i actually start to think about having kids i will definitely be using Edit: I plan on being an L&D nurse when I'm older and will definitely if asked for bottles suggestions suggested them

My baby could not latch at all as her mouth is very small and my nipple is really big so I’m an exclusive pumper. I use the Nuk glass and it has been great so far since it is natural response while dr brown is not. So dr brown (wide glass anti colic) just made milk go everywhere when she wanted to slow down (or she would choke) and on top of that the nipple material is so soft she would just try to chomp on it - she struggled to get a deep latch all the time. With the Nuk, you just need to help them get the latch deep by doing the worm, essentially, and the nipple follows the shape of the tongue/palate while her lips are on the wide part. I don’t understand this “dead space” concept at all…
