“Yuppie” is also used in American slang but mainly in just southern language for describing somebody who is “city” or a “city slicker” and doesn’t know how to cope in difficult situations. Love hearing these slang terms from both languages! We visited Australia and New Zealand a few years back and there was definitely a lot in Australia we didn’t understand but sometimes trying to understand New Zealand English sounded like a completely different language 😂

Auf keinsten: 🇦🇷 In argentina we say "ni en pedo" which means that you wouldn't do it even if you were drunk Bogan: 🇦🇷 In argentina we say "groncho" and it's a really classy slang, don't like to use it personally Vorglühen: 🇦🇷 In argentina we say "previa" Junger/Bruder/alter: 🇦🇷 In argentina we say "gato (cat), perro (dog) genio (genius) maestro(teacher)" The other expressions exist but don't have a slang word to describe them! I really learnt a lot from you guys, you're so funny 🤣

Nice video. I think “ta” is used in other places - not just Australia. Definitely parts of UK, NZ. I’m pretty sure that I heard people say it in Norway - though a quick Google check says it’s written “tak”, but it sounded the same and was used in the same way.

Früher gab es noch das Biebelrieder Dreieck auf der Autobahn. Die Besatzungs-Amis haben dann immer "People read a dry egg" verstanden. Man soll ja jetzt auch nicht mehr Nutten sagen, sondern "Frauen mit Penetrationshintergrund". ;-)))) Früher sagte man "Einen Braten in der Röhre haben" für schwanger sein.

If I ever went over the Dutch to American slang, it would be weird. I am not sure what is SLANG in the USA until I get weird looks from my teammates. Australians have a whole Library of slang in respects to American English.

for "bogan" I would say "prollig" as adjektive or "Proll" as noun in German.. A "Proll" is a person with no style in any sense..either in the way he speaks..or..in the way he behaves..or..in the way he is dressed..or..all those together ..and he is for the most part proud of it and therefore also a socalled "try hard" as well in the sense of he is convinced that his style of "clothing" or "behaving" is for what ever inexplicable reason fancy/hip and is therefore by most of the others considered as "totally uneducated person" to say it in a polite way. In Austrian German slang a "Hang over" = "die Restfett´n" (= a compound of "der Rest + die Fett´n") derived from the slang for "being drunk" = "fett sein" "I´m drunk" = "Ich bin fett" which is the shortform of saying "Ich habe einen fetten Rausch" (literally: I´ve got a plentiful drunkenness) and "fetten Rausch/plentiful drunkeness" is also shortend to just "die Fett´n"(literally: "fats" = in hochdeutsch: "die Fette" which is used for a specific and distinct kind of fats while "das Fett" is used generally for fats ).... "fett" (literaly "fatty") in the synonymous sense of "plentiful" like "die fette Ernte = plentiful harvest" or "das fette Gehalt = plentiful wage/salary" for instance
