thanks for this video great for us coaches 😊.. you showed the high and low knee skip 1st, but it is the last element that is executed, maybe I should coach the curve first with normal pop up and then the high knee after ? just a thought…

An interesting idea @channelmartin7utube . I personally like my athletes to know what they will do at the end of the curve so that they can have that in mind when learning and executing the approach. However, it’s all personal preference and whatever works best for the athlete in front of you. Here I just chose to use the takeoff exercises as a warm up for a quick introductory lesson. My problem is I run to the end of the bar causing me to hit the supporters and pumble down

Probably your curve is too deep so you are running along the bar at the end of you run up. It’s a very common mistake, especially with young athletes. You should take off at about 30 degrees from the bar. If you have a video I would be happy to review it and send some feedback and corrections
