The only thing missing from this is making it AoE like Kunai Bane. Would make sense from a technical point of view, and thematically, it's kinda weird that spraying poison forward from your mouth of you only affects one target.

"Huraijin is gone with this change." Honestly, the ability, itself, was like an indicator that Huton had become such a superfluous buff meant to add just one more thing to manage in a job that already has enough. Huraijin was an instant Huton, so there really was no meaningful management, anyway--if you fucked it up, you just hit your insta-buff and keep going.

You know what I adore? They removed huton management and actually replaced it with something fun instead of just removing it and replacing it with nothing like they’ve done so much in the past. Whoever is the ninja designer should be the head of job design as a whole

SOOO happy they're keeping the same job flow. It feels so good in Endwalker right now, and the Huton changes are going to be such a nice quality of life improvement for lower dungeon/trial/raid roulettes.

I finally got into Ninja in Endwalker when they announced Viper because I knew I wanted to play it. I am far (far) from an expert on the job but I was surprised by how much I loved it. I did NOT, however, love playing it at lower levels because of Huton, especially in level 50 content. This change to make Huton an AOE suiton was something I never thought I needed but am so happy with. Gonna be playing it a lot more in roulettes in Dawntrail as a result.

I am so happy huton was temoved, after lvl 60 managing the speed buff wasnt much of an issue, with the fact that both a single target(armor crush) and aoe finishers refilled at least some of it, plus, you didnt need to waste mudra on refilling it cos you have an attack that activates it, leaving more time for raiton blasts, but any content below 60, wich is alot of the daily roulettes at least for lvl 75 me i would constantly have to keep an eye on it. Nice choice making it oassive now 😁

RIP my ninja Henshin macro... Used huton and swapped to a naked gearset to have the silhouette during the wind and it swapped to the real gear as the winds ended.

Sweet, we get to be kinda like Yoshimitsu from Tekken / SC with the Poison Breath lmao, glad Mug (which was more Rogue-like) gets a Nin upgrade more suited to the class. And an AoE Trick FINALLY. Kunai's Bane looks sick af, as well as the new Bhava / Hellfrog Large (still calling it) under the Dokumori Higi buff, dat screen shake tho Farewell Huton o7 Was honestly tedious to keep up esp. in level sync

Did you happen to see if the AoE skills unlock at an earlier level? Ninja was one of those "no AoE til in the 30s" jobs, which makes low-level sync an issue.

All around amazing changes!! I didn't know WHAT I expected after having watched the class action trailer, other than a sting of disappointment with the class. Definitely one of those cases where I couldn't be happier to of been proven wrong. Every single change and improvement made here over EW ninja is extremely solid, meaningful improvements that the class very much arguably needed. Especially in regards to Huraijin. Absolutely canNOT wait to get my hands on trying ninja out alongside monk!!

mannnn i hate managing resources, I just want to go ham on mechanics and do big damage, say what you want for me as a player but i love the removal of management stuff. The huton gauge was a bit annoying to keep up all the time and I never really wanted to use armor crush just to keep it up but now I have a reason to use armor crush for extra big damage. really like the changes

Thinking about it now, I initially thought the armor crush change was kinda lazy but then I realized it's probably setup to buff their 1-2-3 in 8.0 with a new visual kinda like the upcoming Monk.

It's such a high powered skill its a small tradeoff to be a "caster" to use it. It also looks kinda appropriate too, the way you stand there and do a super focus.

NIN design looks mostly in tact while fixing the issues. AOE Trick Attack with no positional is a W. Pre buffing for hide still the same and the positional combos give you additional damage to maintain as needed. Pretty happy with this. Goodbye Huraijin!

My only concern is going to be the opener because we used to put aeolian under mug and trick for the opener, but if you dont have another source for your kunai besides armor crush then maybe you have to armor crush in your opener instead? That just feels wrong as a nin main. I feel like they should have the new mug give you like 1 or 2 kunai, or trick or something. Hell, even bunshin giving a kunai would be be fine, just something you would use on or before trick in the opener

With the removal of Huraijin, does NIN actually get nothing at lvl 60? How would a brand new NIN feel when finishing the lvl 60 job quest in dt?

I think it's funny just now much of Ninja's Rogue Legacy (pun intended) was left over even after you hit max level in previous expansions. Things like Trick Attack and Mug aren't exactly abilities I'd expect a fantasy Ninja to have. The replacements feel much more thematic and I'm a big fan.

@@shinobiprince6999 I think Zesho Meppo is Bukijutsu, but with 3-tome sharingan speed. And it's just coincidence that the graphic sort of resembles Kakashi/ Obito's Mangekyo Sharingan. BUT I do think the purple chidori added to NIN in Endwalker was a direct reference to Sasuke's purple chidori.

It’s single target while Huton just became a solid part of our aoe rotation which is really nice.

I question the usefulness of Huton in smaller trash pulls at lvl 91 and below. It is, in all respects, a weaker Katon just to grant the use of Trick Attack on one target. I haven't done any math, but I would assume that Huton is 100% useless in a pull bigger than 5 enemies. It might be useful at the start of a pull (before the tank groups up every enemy) if there only are 2-3 enemies to hit in the first place?

I think it's useful for Meisui, for the extra Ninki, at 72. Under that, though, I'd expect it to be mathematically not worth it since you probably either do single target or use Katon for its extra potency over Huton

Yes, it's one of the highest potency abilities in the game at 1300 + it's 30% buff from Kassatsu into a target taking 15% more damage from mugged/tricked targets. One of the reasons ninja players pray for it to direct hit crit.

For some reason, I never even considered animation changes to Trick Attack or Mug were even possible. And when I heard "Trick Attack is AoE now", my ears perked up, but then I realized Mug and Trick Attack are still switched with each other now and that Trick Attack is just a glorified reaper Death's Design now. That is going to be confusing and sad to me, forever. I wish you showed Armor Crush's tooltip, since that's practically a new action unto itself now that we have to consider that its use has nothing to do with Huton extending anymore

no more meisui is gonna be a change for the burst rotation, but I think this is probably fine since it means the rotation for the job doesn't suddenly change because you hit level 72. I had hoped that armor crush would have been moved down to level 50 instead of huton being removed... but I'll take this too. Will make getting synced down to crystal tower raids less painful.

Honestly I’m cool with it being a passive. I think it rounds out ninja’s aoe kit a lot better than being a button you sequence you hit once for prepull and isn’t even ideal to do again after down time as you can’t refresh your ninjutsu with hide during combat. Having an aoe hide and trick buff is straight awesome

Huton being a buff is a huge advantage. No more having to play huton chicken with the tank! I won't miss activating huton then having the tank stand there for 15 seconds doing nothing, or (even worse) have the tank pull the second you start using huton and entering the fight with one fewer ninjutsu than expected.
