I am just happy that it wont be 99% accurate since the game design looks cursed as heck XD For example the rear tire thread in the game is not coherent tire layout instead it's a simple narrow tire wheel that they simply stretched to abnormal proportions, looks dumb. Many other things that make no sense on that car or any other and I wont waste time writing about it. Sometimes fantasy cars should stay a fantasy and if made real they need actual coherent updates and fixes.

Honestly, this project has been a rollercoaster of innovation and craftsmanship. You've not just built a car; you've built a community around it. I mean, how many of us can say we've gotten our spouses, friends, or even kids hooked on a car build series? 😄 And let's talk about the improvement curve! From the somewhat "cartoony" beginning, it's like watching a sculptor chisel away at a block of marble until something magnificent stands before us. You're not just setting the bar high for yourself; you're raising it for the entire KZbin creator community. 🙌

As someone who's restoring a '76 Corvette, so has some experience with fibreglass work: mad respect for what you're doing here. I was planning on doing some custom work on mine as well, as I've never really liked the '76 tail end. Videos such as these are great inspiration. Not so much the actual design, as it would clash with my car. But the techniques, and simply the knowledge that I'm not the only one taking on such a challenging project. And speaking of challenging, this video is quite humbling. Mine will be nowhere near as much work as yours! Although I was also planning on incorporating a fully addressable RGB LED strip in both the front and back, which would animate on startup, and provide animated turn signals like the Audi's have. Also: great to see your use of styrofoam to shape the parts, then cover it in sticky tape so you can fibreglass onto it without dissolving the styrofoam. I was planning on doing this myself, but all the videos I watched so far seem to sculpt the custom parts in automotive clay. Which gets real expensive, real soon if you're doing larger parts. Now that I've seen it done in styrofoam, I know my idea would actually work, and save me a ton of money in the process. I wonder if there's a better solution than the sticky tape though. Preferably something you can spray on, that would fill the pores and be easy to sand, and wouldn't eat away the styrofoam.
@EvenTheDogAgrees Жыл бұрын
Turns out: yes, there is a better way than sticky tape. E.g. water-based acrylic paint, or even better: epoxy resin. NOT polyester resin, as that one will dissolve the styrofoam! And to glue styrofoam together, apparently, polyurethane (PUR) foam. Which is what I assume to be the "special glue" you use in your other videos.
