@LearnUpstairs5 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Luciana! Here's how to make the brush into a oblique shape: if you are in version CC or above, it is located on the brushes tab, when you right click it. If you are in older versions, it is on the brush window. Window > Brush It is a circle with 4 points at the edges where you can pull in inwards to make it oblique. I hope you understand, that's a hard thing to explain over text 😅

Hi Rohat! If you are just stepping into this world. I'd suggest Sketchup for sure. The learning curve is faster than 3ds max. Until today, I use basically sketchup for all my architecture images and projects. Thanks Ryan! I found them on Google for free. Just search for watercolor and splatter brushes and you should find plenty. You can do a very similar result in illustrator. But it is much harder to achieve this effect. Photoshop is better to deal with this type of situation, and on Illustrator you can have another approach, lots of patterns, different strokes widths, and some other topics.

@@LearnUpstairs How do You compare Sketchup vs 3Dsmax and other 3D/CAD software?
@LearnUpstairs5 жыл бұрын
IMHO sketchup has an advantage because of its easy usage. With just a couple of moves and clicks you already have a 3D built up, scenes are placed and you can export it rapidly to a post production software. In the other hand you've got 3dsmax that is much more technical and the learning curve is steeper, but you get a very realistic result. Both programs have their pros and cons, you just gotta see what fits your workflow best. For me, sktetchup still wins, specially because I'm an architect, therefore visualization is just a step in the whole process. Hope I could help it! Nice comment 😁

Nice video, a little too fast to actually follow along or learn much without rewinding several times. Also, you sometimes over simplify the things you talk about with your voice over when they are actually quite complex processes within the software that call for multiple steps. If you would be more clear and walk through those steps with more detail that would be much more informative. The videos you are making are extremely well done and I'd love to learn how you do them though. Thank you!
@LearnUpstairs5 жыл бұрын
Hi José! I really appreciate your feedback. I'll try to work better on this on the future. I'm always trying to balance an interesting video with only the important steps highlighted and a more thorough step by step tutorial. My solution lately has been to offer the full normal speed video as a separate pack, but without voice over. A full video with voice over wouldn't be a viable solution (time invested x engagement return). Well, all that to say that I'm trying to find a sweet spot in these types of videos and really loved your feedback! Thanks again! 🙏🙏
@jmor14155 жыл бұрын
@@LearnUpstairs I actually thought of that while writing my feedback. What if you added a subsegment playlist to your channel that included only the shorter videos on much more detailed and specific workflow concepts. For example, it really intrigues me how you organize your photoshop layers and why, if you made a short 5-8 minute video of something like this, then made a video that applied these concepts while attacking another idea all together it may be more worthwhile.
@TheCorruptedVisage2 жыл бұрын
This was incredibly frustrating as you showed very few of the commands you were actually doing and went way to fast to tell what is going on, I had to play at 25% speed to even sort of tell what you were doing and multiple time that didnt even work. You did not explain anything. If it where not for a school assignment I would never watch this.

I'm trying to show a workflow, not only the step-by-step to this image. I intentionally got a simple design. @@LearnUpstairs I see. I was very quick to pass judgement but now I realise you're doing truly wonderful things with complex sketchup designs in the other videos. Is there any particular video / channel / course you would recommend for becoming more skilled with sketchup for this type of architecture/spatial planning work? @LearnUpstairs2 жыл бұрын
Hey Theodore, this is the simplest diagram I could think of. It doesn't say anything because it's not tied to any design decision or real parameters. It's a short tutorial to talk about this presentation method. Not to mention that this is quite an old video here on the channel. A sequence diagram can be a really powerful communication drawing. It's a type of representation that is used by many firms around the world, even major ones like BIG and MVRDV to name a few... I appreciate your input! This topic has lots of variables, and what may not work for you, your context, and your workflow, might work for other people. I'm not dictating any rules here, just simply sharing stuff through youtube videos.
