You are so right!! We have two cats and a husky dog. When it went down below freezing a few years back, we tried to bring them in. They hated it. They wanted out and would not come back in. They are country animals! They are fine!

I have been around for a good minute, I just want to tell you... yall are awesome critter parents. Not just dog but livestock also. After this cold snap, if at all possible I would leave as much of the shelter assembled just set off to the side for other cold snaps or leave it up all winter. As for the covering for the "roof" of the dog lot depends on how long you plan on leaving it up. I like all the channels, I really don't have a favorite, but I do miss yall riding and jumping and having fun

Well, good afternoon to you both. From up here in Montreal Quebec. I believe you’re doing a fantastic job with your dogs and your right dog should be out in the wild. And I know my two dogs enjoy outdoor as well , Two bagels, one Male and one female that’s a baby two years old. I know their country dogs for outdoors. I’m your guard dogs . I don’t want these for sure will do anything for our dogs to keep them warm and let them enjoy life. Keep up the great work that you guys are doing.

My Choc Lab stays out all winter. But i have a shop light in his dog house that keeps his house extremely warm. I do use the old incandescent 60W blubs, no heat lamp. It was 20 last night but 70 in his house. Mocha thought he was in Panama City lol

I have always heard to put on layers when it’s cold outside. That way you trap air between the layers and that helps you stay warm. I love ❤️ all your channels, it would be hard to pick just one. 😂😂

Crockers Unleashed Podcast is by far my favorite channel of all time. For those that have never seen it, look at the episode ,"Talk about addiction, this is what triggers people," this is where Jason and Danielle drink pickled Vodka. I liked the feel of just getting away from the animals for a minute and in some of the episodes Danielle uses what I call a DJ voice. Just a total change of pace. Two microphones and a table. Sort of a studio feel. Bring it back, it will be a big hit. Sit at the table in the camper, turn on the heater.

Yes, Danielle! I've always heard it's best to be naked in the bag if keeping warm is the goal... keep your clothes from getting sweaty - to keep you warmer the next day, etc. But, alas...Google says no... so, who knows?

Also the do make heat pads that only come on when the dogs lay on them. Heat lamps do work and are safe. In south dakota, which gets way colder than Oklahoma, we use heat lamps all the time. I love how u update the pen to keep the. Out of the wind.

The dog area needs some insulation. My dogs are indoor/outdoor dogs. Two of them are GPs too. They prefer to be outside in the winter but still like to come inside when they need to. My smaller dogs during bad weather want inside but can come in and out as they want.

As long as dogs have a dry place to stay, they like outside. We've had outside dogs with a dog house. They usually slept on a high knoll in the field. Go figure. Then come to us with ice frozen hair and their bellies hot. I now have an inside dog who goes with Papa whenever he goes outside. Otherwise, she is sleeping in his recliner.

I think you should build a shelter for those poor ducks! Their little webbed feet are going to get cold paddling around in the pond in subzero temperatures! You should heat the water so they don’t get frostbite! Just kidding! Your animals will be fine. They are better equipped for the cold weather than us humans. You’re doing fine. But heating the pond is pretty funny though.😂

Dress in layers for colder weather that way if it warms up or you are moving a lot you can shed layers. Wear a moisture wicking base layer!! In the sleeping bag you strip down!

in upstate new york its below 30 from november to april so the cold isnt a problem for me. i wear just a tank top long sleave under armer t shirt and a sweat shirt and can work outside all day

Layer your clothes and have a room within a room like a tent inside a room. It helps to keep your body heat in. A sleeping bag helps.

when I was a kid in early 70's, ALL dogs stayed outside year round and they all did just fine... even in 2-4 feet of snow. for vast majority of households, dogs were not allowed inside the house. Their fur grows according to the temperature so that by the time winter arrives, they can handle it no problem.

This is the time to do everything you can to reduce any problems: chech out generators, waterlines, faucets, taking care of animals, extra food and water. Then jump in that sleeping bag neeked.

Outside dogs need to stay outside and inside dogs need to stay inside, simple as that. A short haired outside dog needs more consideration than a long haired or double coated, as simple as that. It’s called common sense.

I have had inside and outside dog's. My dog that was outside had a large dog house with hay. I fed him extra in the months leading up to winter. They build up a winter layer of fat and a good coat for the colder months. In extreme cold, he was brought indoors. Nature has it's way to help animals survive the elements.

😂 Danielle you are funny. NO you need to layer your clothes in a sleeping bag if you are outside in cold weather. This adds insulation and holds body heat to maintain your temperature. Jason is correct. Just don’t sweat. If it’s warmer/hot weather you can sleep nakey nakey in a sleeping bag. if that’s your thing. watch out for mosquitoes 🦟
