My biggest complaint with lies of P combat is the blocking recovery. Even if you perfect parry, if a boss does an attack chain [and there are some that do up to 6] you're just blocking that entire time which leads you to having your guard broken and taking damage. I dont mind being interrupted when making an attack with my slow weapon because it's going to do big damage when it lands. The problem is that 90% of the fight I'm either blocking, dodging so i can actually attack or eating absolute shit to the bosses attacks. To give an example, there is a fire miniboss that will smack you with a shovel, if you get caught by a single swing down, it will hit you on the ground and stunlock you into being beat for like 4 or 5 attacks which just straight up kills you. Sometimes you can dodge out of it, other times you're just locked in for death.
@izzydarkhart4144
@izzydarkhart4144 Жыл бұрын
Their are plenty of ways to upgrade block recovery and dodge recovery. Unfortunately, you just can not play the game without investing heavily in there mechanics. It is not like from software where you can get away with out investing heavily and you can mostly get by on pure skill. That is either a huge positive or a negative.
@elipse0
@elipse0 Жыл бұрын
That happened to me once or twice with the shovel miniboss. I was ready to throw punches, but nothing infuriated me more than the factory boss. I'm finished with the brotherhood fight it was easy. it took me like 3 or 5 attempts. The cathedral boss took me 3 or 4

All of a sudden I feel good about having learned in elementary school how water for households is sourced.. like I even visited a water plant, a water well and even a underground and surface water reservoir. That was just basic stuff in german elementary school back in the 90s. Later we learned how depending on your region water is actually not safe to drink.. which blew my mind. People not having drinking water and us being thankful for the best water quality was a real good value given to me as a kid. The fact that the water coming out of my tap is held to higher quality than the water from the store really always astounded me.

@ViewTube_Emperor_of_Mankind Жыл бұрын
@@mrbeans2425 Natural springs can be deceiving. Depending on the elements they spring from or the area and material they might spring to the water isn't always very well digestable.. drinkable yes.. but you might get stomach cramps and digestive issues because of very high amount of certain minerals etc. So I'd recommend drinking only from controlled or tested wells. I also found cool things like wells that turn into drinkable water only once they have enough water for it to flow.

@@ViewTube_Emperor_of_Mankind Yeah ik what u mean but these ones are legit They are all over Maine and NH, The one I used to mainly go to is actually owned by "Poland springs" I believe, but its just a little run off on the side of the road anyone can fill up at. Same spring water they use. But you are right, even if the water is moving it should be boiled or put some iodine in it.

I agree to an extent with Asmon about delayed attacks being cheap because they can make it seem like you're practicing how to deal with that specific attack rather than your general skill in the game, but that's not necessarily a problem with delayed attacks as much as how the delay works. If a boss winds up their attacks, but always has a consistent telegraph for when the attack is coming, delays can be fine imo, but what sucks is when they draw back their weapon and just hold it for an arbitrary amount of time before suddenly snapping it downwards and hitting you without warning. If you have to actually memorize the timing rather than waiting for a clear cue before the attack actually comes at you, then I think it's a poorly designed mechanic. A well designed delayed attack can be good if it essentially only baits you into falsely reacting with the initial drawback-- but suddenly hitting without a true warning, or constantly stuttering or undulating while they are holding the weapon back is absolute garbage and I wish developers should stop putting that kind of crap in soulslike games.

For how good Elden Ring is I will say it was fucking annoying how many bosses delayed their attacks in the way you described. Mohg and Morgott were super egregious examples of this
@bunklypeppz
@bunklypeppz Жыл бұрын
@@Klnkykoala The worst example in Elden Ring imo was Radahn. It didn't really seem to me like they even intended for him to be fought solo in melee range because his upper body was almost always offscreen and his delays had almost no tell for when the attack was actually gonna happen. Radahn was cool and all, but mechanically, I think he's one of the worst bosses in the game; still more fun than the Fire Giant though.

In Lies of P you cant play like its dark souls or sekiro. Its not a parry. Its a perfect guard. A parry deflects the opponent's swing. A guard blocks the impact. I kept trying to hold block right when the boss started their swing, and getting hit. You have to start your block as the attack would hit you. Yes the perfect guard window is a little tight and could use a few frames leniency, but its a fundamental difference in when you need to activate the block vs a parry
@hirsutuscanis

Sounds a lot like Sekiro but with less parry frames, tap to parry as attack hits or hold to block and lose more posture. I haven't played it though just watched Asmon.
@DreamskyDance
@DreamskyDance Жыл бұрын
Yeah and i saw an actual parry as a fable art on a handle. Hit it once by accident then tried it out on the practice dolls in the hotel, i may use it if i get even better at perfect guard. You hit Y as you hit RB for perfect block, you can be later with the Y, i tried to press it a bit of a second later and still works. It is nasty, you perfect block and do a counter attack that either stuns the target or gets it real close to stun.

where do humans get fresh water from: Our drinking water comes from lakes, rivers and groundwater. For most Americans, the water then flows from intake points to a treatment plant, a storage tank, and then to our houses through various pipe systems. A typical water treatment process.

The thing with lies of pie that I see no one really doing is you have to invest heavily into the P organ system for things like damage, I frames, dodge recovery, guard recovery, bigger perfect guard window, bigger dodge, poise, pretty much any convenient thing in most from software games are in the P organ system. Also, something that is not stated with building normal weapons is that you have to match the slash and stab symbols. The equal sign means good and the arrow pointing down means bad so make sure your weapon has 1 or 2 equal signs and no arrow pointing down signs. The arrow pointing down means reduced damage sometimes by 70% reduced.
@RealTaIk
@RealTaIk Жыл бұрын
In case anyone actually doesn't know where most of the drinking water comes from, it comes from the ground, that's why it's called groundwater. When it rains enough the water goes through the ground which filters the water from most polution which makes it most of the time ready to drink. Alot of big cities actually have huge problems regarding their ground water. All the concrete doesn't allow the rain water to sink in properly anymore which slowly decreases their groundwater which has the effect that the cities are slowly sinking into the ground. Some houses in jakartha are sinking by 10 inches every year due to that. The whole city of tokio sinked in by 13 feet in 50 years but apparently in the last 10 years they have managed to rise by 1 feet again because they decreased the use of groundwater.

According to a post on Physics Stack Exchange, if a superconducting magnet and appropriate power supply had just enough current and length so that when it was perpendicular to the earth’s magnetic field, the force of the interaction was just enough to exceed the force exerted on the object from gravity, and it was rotating so the angular momentum of the vehicle was just high enough so it wouldn’t flip over, the vehicle would fly. So clearly IMHO if aliens have something like that that they can use then you might just go flying into space when the aliens make the earth instantaneously stop spinning because there's a lot of metal on the earth and if they put a metal suit on you after overpowering you to force it on you you would fly!! Into space though?! Maybe not but it's unlikely you would survive the eventual inevitable fall!! Sweet dreams EVERYONE!!

39:43 The story I heard was that he got too popular in his home country that the local triad wanted a share of that pie and started hounding him. There were alot of strangers that did the same to him too. Meanwhile the original reason why he did flappy bird was only out of passion for game making so I think for him it wasnt worth the fame and he took it out. Beside at that point there were already so many clones going around the store.

55:30 no Nintendo does not own Sega, they've done collaborate projects on games, but that's it. But if they did all Sega properties would all be Nintendo exclusives. Added; If they called it Wii 2 people would have understood it was a different console. Originally the biggest criticism for the Wii U was that it was marketed poorly and people didn't know what it was. Apparently it was considered like an expansion too the Wii with like a tablet controller thing they didn't care to pay for. Added 2; Tectone is old for NES. Added 3; Game Gear was basically a portable Sega Master System console

With Teccy's suggestion of Monster Hunter, I think Asmon will probably play the next one. Teccy needs to make sure he does spelltable.

I would love to see what they think of Nioh. That game has so much more painful bosses and walk backs.
