After decades of experience as a financial advisor, Shannon Ryan explores how our individual “financial scar tissue" drives and, in many cases, can derail, some of our most important financial decisions. Financial literacy is Shannon Ryan’s passion, and she credits her father for igniting her interest in the topic. He began his “money lessons” when she was 13 years old, emphasizing the behavioral side of money. Today Shannon is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) with two decades of experience. Her focus is the emotional side of money, focusing on how our financial narrative affects our decisions.
Shannon is a wealth advisor, blogger, speaker, and author of two children’s books. She has appeared on Good Morning America, CNBC, PBS, and many radio shows. Shannon was also invited to the White House to recognize her work with the Women’s Bureau on financial issues. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

I am lucky to have Shannon as my financial advisor for the past 4 years. Not only is she brilliant, but she is also patient and kind. She is a teacher and explains the funds that I am invested in, listens to my many questions and answers them in terms that I can understand. She has spent many hours assuring me that I am a saver and I have a good mind about money. I can afford to spend a bit. Shannon I will be forever grateful that you are my co-pilot on the financial road of life.

❤️ "We all carry financial trauma from the past" What a beautiful way to put it, and it's so true, that makes us take lower risks (if any) and continue the same old patterns hoping for a new life, which is the delusion in our lives

I watched from start to finish and I think that the way how Shannon carried herself and spoke about this topic in the presentation was a quite the sight to behold. I also really like the message of the video as well and I’ll certainly act on this through working through my ‘financial scar tissue’ via working through my financial past, the direction I want my financial situation to go and how I’m going to go about getting there. Thank you. Next day update: I’ve done just as I said I would. I’ve made a video about this and now it’s time to move even further forward. Let’s go!

All cryptos are sinking, but Fantom lost strength when BTC falls. That's scary, but when I compare FTM with other cryptos its still better. Now we see what Andre s abandoning means for someone who doesn't know the utility of project. Anyway, still hope that FTM can overcome this bad moment.

It's a retirement account through your employer. You can't pull money out of it before retirement without a financial penalty that the U.S. government takes.

Regarding the $60k car that took nearly $600k off his 30 year plan, the words of Jaspreet Singh (Minority Mindset) come to mind: if you can't afford five of them you really can't afford one.
