As a Bruins fan, this video is well deserved, and it doesn't disappoint unlike a certain hockey team, and that is an understatement. Also, the meme font touch was perfect to sum up this season: haphazard game planning. At the start of the playoffs, the one thing that I asked was not to be complacent, and they were complacent! From the start of the series, there was some doubt of the team. Sadly, the doubt was right. Congrats to the Panthers! They show heart, grit and effort. As for the Bruins, this is probably it. Marchand, Krejci and especially Bergeron are either close to their end or at the their end, and they may hang their skates up. When will Pastrnak lose his patience and pull a Ray Bourque? Centers like Bergeron do not grow on trees. Also, how long will it take to expose Jim Montgomery? This series exposed him now, but things may get worse. Are Sweeney and Neely long-term answers for the team? The aftermath is even more painful than this historical meme. For now, let me savor this meme before wallowing further pain.

This reminds me of a pool billiard tournament I played in a while back. I had never played in a tournament before nor did i even own a pool stick, but I could still play pretty good. My friends convinced me to play for the hell of it so I did. As soon as my opponent smacked the break and missed I started hitting pocket after pocket effortlessly, all the way until the 8 ball where I finally missed. My opponent missed his shot and I nailed the 8 ball on a bank. I smiled as I walked to my friends drinking beer and told them "hey I won!". You have to give credit to the Panthers though too. Our record this year was tad bit misleading. We had a lot of turnover in the offseason and a new coach to boot. So the team had to adapt to a new system. Add in Barkov and Bennet, our 1C and 2C both being out at the same time for a decent amount of games and you can start to see why we finished where we did. The best way to gauge our season would be to look at it post January, when we got healthy again. We were playing at a 110 plus point pace and we’re looking like last year’s team with the added dimension of a top tier forcheck. And we came into this series with a plan and had the talent to execute that plan. And that plan was to utilize that forcheck and use our speed to beat them to pucks. It led to us either gaining possession outright or causing them to cough the puck up where we would then setup and generate scoring chances. And it worked. They had absolutely no answer for it. Now I’m wondering what the gameplan will be for Toronto. Will we be as aggressive on the forcheck as we were with Boston? Or we will utilize more of a trap game to suffocate their offensive firepower? It should make for an interesting series.

A day later and I’m still in shock this happened. Still speechless of this utter collapse. This was truly the last year for contending with Bergeron, Krejci, and Marchand and we screwed it up. This entire situation could’ve easily been prevented if we had done simple things such as start Swayman for Game 5 when Ullmark was banged up, not playing musical chairs with the lineups, not scratching Grizzy and putting in Clifton who was nothing but a massive liability. Lindholm didn’t even show up. That Game 5 breakaway Bobrovsky stop on Marchand will haunt me, along with Ullmark giving out goals in game 6 like free candy. I really thought we had Game 7 for the taking until it was not. Jim Montgomery in summary was too timid to make necessary changes and made the right choices (starting Swayman and scratching Clifton and reinserting Grizzy) too late instead of preparing these adjustments beforehand. And to be honest, this might not have even been the worst part. We have barely any cap space this off-season and don’t have a first round draft pick till 2025. I fear the worst will start to happen before my very eyes. Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci deserved to win at least 3 Stanley Cups and definitely deserved a better way to go out. If this is truly it for both Bergy and Krejci, thank you for all you have done boys. You’ll forever be Bruins legends.

Disagree. You cannot compare the NHL to anything. Winning the cup is incredibly hard and takes some puck luck to do it. Bruins still got to the final twice since winning it in 2011, where as Rodgers and the Pack never got back to the Super Bowl. They lost in the NFC Title game four times when they should have won it at least twice. You can call this year a failure for the Bruins but many other years they lost to a better or at least equal team. Probably should have won in 2019 and indeed played awful in Game 7 that year but still, not going to go with the "choker" label.

Blew a 3-0 lead and a 3-0 game 7 lead in 2010, give up two goals in 19 seconds to lose game 6 of the Cup Final at home in 2013, blow games 6 and 7 against their arch rivals in the 2nd round after winning the President’s trophy in 2014, lose a home game 7 in the Cup Final in 2019, blow 3-1 lead in the 1st round after the greatest regular season in NHL history in 2023.

As a Blues fan, all these years later after 2019, I still cannot rap my head around how Boston lost to the Blues. The Blues are one of the biggest choking teams in the playoffs in NHL history but thankfully for me, still found a way to not choke as hard as Boston. Just like with Boston against Vancouver back in 2011.

Almost every year when the season comes to an end I’m angry because they completely blow it when they should have won the series. That is a choke. I don’t think you realize the amount of times throughout bruins history they’ve gone deep just to not win a cup. Not just deep but to the finals! SIX cups since 1924. This team is PAINFUL to be a fan of. Such good rosters over the years and amazing seasons. And it’s all for nothing but crushed hope. All that matters is winning the Stanley cup and we have six in 100 years. Not because the bruins suck but because the bruins have been low key the choke masters of the national hockey league.

@@danmcmanus901 I do realize very well. I’ve been a fan since 1972 and I am well aware. But not every upset is a choke. That’s all I’m saying. The parity in the NHL is amazing, and most of the teams who make the playoffs are absolutely capable of winning the cup. We did play bad, and we were not the same team as in the regular season. But that’s the way it goes when you win the presidents trophy. I’m happy to lose this year if we do what Tampa did after they lost in 2019.

Yeah, I would’ve been rooting Lindholm had he not gone to the Bruins, but I’m happy for Montour. It was easier rooting for him.
