This story ripped me into thousands pieces, and still does, everytime I see them both.

This story effected me so much. I just watched it for the first time a week ago. So late to seeing this. These two have so much believable chemistry and they made it so natural. I know they are both “acting “ but the talent they showed was just mind blowing😮😮😮 Mescal was just AMAZING and gave a realism to the depression and everytime he said “ I love you” it broke my heart. Daisy also blew me away with her innocence and vulnerability. My favorite line she said more than once “ are we going to take our clothes off now?” Was said so innocently and sweetly. Connell never made fun of her for being “weird” or “ different”. In every scene they were in together it was like a moth to the flame & magnet to steel.

I have loved Normal People (strange title for the book). I am from a very different generation, but the interaction between the two people in the series is so well directed it almost feels real. It doesn’t need to have a sequel, the story has been told & from my own experience it is about the chemistry & almost. impossible to fake, This is why it has affected so many people. So well done the whole team - actors,, director & advisors! I truly believe it is a unique experience & we have been lucky to see this precious story!

@margaret Because I am more your generation I think, I think the same way as you described it. We were privileged to see this beautiful show where the feelings between Marianne and Connell were so pure.

Proper recognition at last. Daisy E-J has been nominated for the 2021 Golden Globes for her role as Marianne in Normal People according to the Evening Standard of 03/02/21. [ Best Performance by an Actress in a Limited Series, Anthology or TV Movie] About time too! Excellent news; well done Daisy for your brilliant performance. What a beautiful, intelligent women with maturity that belies her age! However, Paul Mescal was snubbed.

Normal People star Daisy Edgar-Jones ‘splits from boyfriend Tom Varey’: About time too! Well done Daisy. The best decision of your life apart, that is, from becoming a superb actress. You'll never regret dropping that drip! The world is now your oyster.

Not sure why she got so into abuse kink in sex?
@vleestar72834 жыл бұрын
I think she felt unlovable and unworthy of love and when she thought she deserved the abuse from her brother it made her unable to accept any love or affection. It wasn't until Connell wrote her telling her she was worthy that she left Lukas.
@nargiz63044 жыл бұрын
Vilee Star I thought Lucas was abusive towards her just bc she said she wants the opposite of “I like you”. Am I wrong?
@vleestar72834 жыл бұрын
@@nargiz6304 yes. That's what she wanted. She didn't want to feel love bc she didn't believe she was worthy of it
@MrItsjustmeok4 жыл бұрын
Yeah she probably thought because her Dad hit her Mum and her brother was abusive that it was normal behaviour to be treated badly
@independentandfree64664 жыл бұрын
Marianne suffered both physical and mental abuse in the home. Her self-worth was set at a low point. She over-compensated at school. When she temporarily lost Connell, she was lost again.
