h(t-tau) actually moves to the right while t >0. However, she put the symbol "t" in X axis and in the negative side, that means t is negative. Under this situation, the h(-tau) will moves to the "negative" right, so it moves to the left.

I think transforming h(k) to h(t-k) requires flipping first[h(-k)] and then delaying by t [h( -(k-t) ) = h(t-k) ]. So your graph of h(t-k) should be on right side of Y axis if t>0. if t

Overall this is absolutely amazing and incredibly helpful. I have a question about the last section region of overlap. You have y(t) = -6 +18. You have the slope of -6. What about the +18? should it have jumped up to 18 and then -6?
@Twiggs8121
@Twiggs8121 4 жыл бұрын
The +18 is where it would cross the y-axis. If you were to take the line she drew from (2 < t < 3), at a -6 slope and extend it from -infinity to +infinity, it would cross the y-axis at +18. The reason she did not draw it is because the previous point of the graph she was drawing ended at t = 2. So drawing the extended line from -infinity to +infinity is unnecessary. She just drew it where it was needed, which was t = 2 to t = 3. That is where the limits of the last overlap occurred. Hope this helped!
