In this video we are showing you how to remove and replace the Control Arm on a Hyundai Santa Fe. It will be the same for the whole generation from late 2006 to early 2012. It is not very complicated procedure to do it.
If you live were there is snow then you might have hard time with the bolts so you might need to spray them with PB BLASTER before you start the repair.
We purchased an aftermarket Control Arm on eBay brand New for $56.

If you need to replace the ball joint you might need to remove the control arm.

I have a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe will the Lower Control Arm / Ball Joint cause it to pulls to left when accelerating, then when I let go of the throttle, the car goes right and also Clunks and Knocks

I had same issue with my 07 SF. Ended up just replacing the ball joints (requires you to remove the lower control arm anyway since the ball joints have to be pressed out and new ones pressed in. You can get a ball joint press on loan from AutoZone). If I had it to do over I'd just replace the entire control arm since they are only about $75 each.

very easy and simple to do. need to replace my lower control a arm on my 2011 Sonata. and by watching this video it looks very straight forward. Did you have any issues with the caster alignment of the wheels due to the arm bent on the Santa Fe? How about afterwards? Thanks. I subscribed and liked video. ;)

Use a cold chisel to separate the piece just above the ball joint holding it in place. Once it's separated it should come out easily.

i have my control arm off, my problem is getting the bushen back in to the color so I can finish the job......everyone just bangs it in....did that!!!!!all night....no Freaking me out!!!....I compared it to original...the same....please help I am land lock and have 3 days to get this on.....freaken out!!!

How much were the control arms? Also if a control arm is bent can the height of one side of the front be a little lower? Will control arms square up your ride and steering?.

hi world mechanics, I did take out the pin and the nut but the bolt ( at CV boot ) can not pull out. I did lubricated and use hammer but I can not take out (another side I use compact gun with socket 17mm try to turn the bolt around, but the bolt did not turn) could you tell me what to do. Thanks

I just had a very scary experience with the front right lower control arm. The bolt on the right (front) bushing (the bushing you put on first), fell out and that part of the control arm came lose. This caused the entire wheel on the passenger side to move abruptly back and rub the tire on rear of the wheel well. I'm dumb founded that they designed the control arm so that the bolt goes in from the bottom so that if the nut on top vibrate lose, the bolt falls out! Is there a torque specification for those bushing bolts?

at 0:20, or 20 seconds into this video, if you pause it, you will see a part that is wrapped in a dust shield on the left. I think it is either a front drive axel or a tie rod, but I'm not sure and i can't find a technical drawing anywhere with it on it. Can some one please help? i need to know what that part is called because mine is bent and needs replacing. Thanks

same here. my first 2 were control arm swaps. this time i'm going to just press in a moog ball joint.

I have had the same problem on my 2007 Santa Fe. I had to replace the right lower ball joint 3 times. They were all Moog ball joints that failed. It's a bad installation design because you have to press it in without the rubber boot. It's very easy to get dirt and debris inside the ball joint during installation. That can cause premature failure.
