Great video! it's was so nice to see Satoshi being so active, usually he is so quiet, but in this video he was right there and it was wonderful to see and hear him please do more like this.. I love hearing him talking and speaking his opinions. :) Normally you Shinichi seems to take the lead (which is fine and has worked because he was so shy) and he follows you, BUT in this one you were side by side in all of it! Loved it!!

When you have food tasting videos from your convenience stores I get so sad that our convenience stores have crappy food choices, the ones in Japan are so amazing I get jealous. But I totally enjoy these videos because they are just so good and we know what we are missing and that's what makes it so much fun when you share. Thanks Shinichi and Satoshi, another great video!

Seeing you try all these delicious options from Japanese convenient stores really makes me wish we had options like this in the us. I can’t wait to visit Japan with my fiancé one day 😊

Pagan Min oh I agree, that would be great. If I want healthy or great tasting food in my area I have to cook it myself or Find a really good restaurant (which I’m lucky enough to live around a bunch)

Pagan Min Pretty much :/ wish we had more options 😭
@rebeccahherdener20685 жыл бұрын
I agree with ALLLLLLL this. The u.s. convenience store options are pretty lame in comparison. Id LOVE it if they sold things like they do in japan. Everything looks SO YUMMY over there. And MOSTLY health related. 💜
@rebeccahherdener20685 жыл бұрын
Pagan Min well that really sucks. And I feel u. Here in the USA we get some salad options,cold sandwiches,but thats about it. The majority of what we see in stores now is booze,potato chips,candy,soda,etc... Definitely NOT healthy related stuff...I'd love more nutritious options. Even the sandwiches and stuff are SUPER loaded with MEGA amounts of stuff like sodium and whatnot. The quick trip southwestern wrap has about a little less than 2000 or so mg in sodium... Which is A LOT. And then the lettuce is usually wilted and majorily consists of iceberg lettuce. Not very healthy at all. There's ONE salad they serve called the "super food salad"(if I remember right),and it has the Edamame seeds and nuts, chicken,cheese, and etc in it...but it's only during the summer. And it Really hard to find too. Everytime I go it's either out of season,or they've sold out already.🤦 But its REALLY good. Lol. So I can understand why.

Heartwarming just to see you two enjoy those tanuki udon. I fully agree with Shinichi-san, noodles > rice. If a genie stuck me on a desert island and said "You can have an endless source of *only* noodle dishes or rice dishes, but not both" I would pick noodles before he even mentioned the word 'rice'. Edit: I also agree with Shinichi-san's mother on kimchi! I'm disappointed living in the west because unless you're going to a Korean grocer, the kimchi options are abyssmal. Not even fermented, do *not* contain the tiny salted shrimp which makes a massive difference because without the savory funk, kimchi is _not_ kimchi.

My favorite, cold noods, and love the salad noods too. I mix in all the wasabi and karashi packets in with noods, like hiyashi-chuka! Udon is my favorite, then hiyashi-chuka, and then soba. I love them so much, since I just came back I haven't had many noods except ramen. Once I start working let's go out for dinner! I also brought ingredients to make a traditional, not very healthy Newfie meal is like to make for you both one day.

Tanuki udon is my favourite. I love udon in general, I could eat it simple with just the tsuyu and tempura batter. The way you describe it makes me wish I could run to Family Mart right now :) The first soba with drated daikon I would buy as well, my daughter loves nameko, but the tororo soba I would leave in the store. I don't like it grated, the nebaneba texture of it (although I have no problem with nameko hahaha). Hiyahsi chuka is something I make at home a lot in the summer. I have two recipes, I have one with a thick sesame sauce I really want to make and try but I love the soy sauce one so much I always make that hahaha I never had reimen. I think my husband would like this dish. I'm not the biggest fan of kimchi. Love these convenient store taste tests. Can you please make more. Perhaps another breakfast/dinner series :D And perhaps a taste test of the deli section of different supermarkets?

Surprised to discover that I am a fan of cold soba noodles (tried it at a Japanese restaurant, in Little Rock, AR, USA, and I kind of wish I'd had more of it). Did NOT think I'd enjoy it nearly as much as I did. I'm not sure how I'd feel about cold udon, as I wasn't impressed with the noodles, the one time I've tried them. Watching y'alls videos always makes me crave Japanese food so much! My bad luck is that I don't have a really good restaurant near me, to indulge that craving. 😭
