Thanks for watching my 1st full cooking video in the van. I tried to make it interesting by switching up camera angles. I hope you liked the video. You can find the Hawkins pressure cooker in a variety of sizes (Mine is the second smallest at 2 liters) from the link in the description.

Before I forget...check out Farberware EdgeKeeper knives. They come with a blade cover that trues the edge of the blade as it is taken from and returned to its sheath. Not expensive. I haven't tried one yet but I saw them recommended and have one in my online wishlist.

@@kathrynarnold1966 Cool. I’ll look into it. Mine is a Faberware, but without the edgekeeper. 👍

Great vid! Thinking about getting into van life, in regards to food/cooking, do you typically try to just cook for single meals, or in "bulk"? Bulk-wise, how do you go about reheating your food? Thank you in advance :)

For sure, Bruce! Thanks for watching. I bought this pressure cooker as a 2020 Xmas gift for myself, so still learning. 😉 I do plan to add more recipes to my van life cooking arsenal, so you can expect more cooking 👨🍳 with Troy, soon. 😁✌️

@@TravelingTroy now you have used it , happy with the size or do you wish you would have gotten the next size up? I cook for 2
@TravelingTroy3 жыл бұрын
After using my 2 liter for a couple months, I would love it if I had the next size up. For me, I would rather put the effort in for one day, then just heat up the leftovers for as long as possible. 😁 I just heat up the leftovers in a regular sauce pan. When researching, I knew the 1.5 liter would be too small, so it was between the 2 or 3 liter. I ultimately decided on the 2 liter, as I’m limited in space and it was a bit smaller. For now, the 2 and 3 liter models are the same price, so I would for sure go with the 3 liter. 😉 Enjoy, if you decide to get one. ✌️

You don't need seasoning; you have two kinds of peppers, the food, and the bouillon. It's perfect without seasoning. Great demo.

Wow never saw a pressure cooker so small. That’s cool and plenty large for one. I use a big Instapot and freeze the leftovers for later. Your method seems much simpler. Great video!
@TravelingTroy3 жыл бұрын
Yes, 2 liter is small. I like the idea of prepping/cooking a large amount and then freezing, but no room for a freezer in my van. 😕 I actually, just gave away my 2 liter pressure cooker and ordered a 3.5 liter. I want to cook once and then put the rest in the frig to eat on it for 5 days or so. 👍 Thanks for checking out the videos. 😁

Troy, bet it is smelling good in the van ! Nice job on your first cooking video ! Reminds me of my Grand Dad he always made a "mulligan stew" on sunday a pot would always be simmering on the wood cook stove.
@TravelingTroy3 жыл бұрын
Oh, heck ya! It was smelling great. You know, some people worry about cooking in their vans, due to the lingering smell or the wood soaking up the smells. Well, I carry a porta potty in my van, so food smell is a good thing. 😂🤣 That mulligan stew sounds good. I like the idea of grabbing what you’ve got in your pantry, throwing it in a pot and seeing what you come up with. 👍✌️ I appreciate your feedback on the video. 😁

Thanks Don! For sure. More videos are coming. Sometimes, I make the videos too complicated with multiple angles and camera shots, which really slows down the editing process. I’m currently working on the next video, but I think I will simplify them going forward. 👍 Thanks for the feedback. ✌️

Thanks for the review! I was wondering how its held up; how customer service might be if something goes awry, and if you got the warranty coverage, with extra cost? Thanks!

I feel like the veggies might be added after cooking the meat so they don't become too tinder and soft. Like cooking the meats for 20 min then adding the veggies for 8-10 mins
@carmenmartinez28828 ай бұрын
But then you have to release the pressure and start all over, I just cut them in bigger chunks and put altogether, been cooking this way with pressure cookers for many years.

Please get some white vinegar and hydrogen peroxide solution... use them liberally to disinfect your food prep surfaces. You cross-contaminated your countertop with the top of your meat storage container. No disrespect- be Blessed.
