I raise my own beef and usually get about 40 pounds of the ground beef turned into 1/4lb patties. They are frozen in boxes of 20 patties each. They work great when having parties at the farm and I need to feed a ton of people. So much of a time saver. Plus, since I raised the beef, I know exactly what goes into it. I usually make up a jar of my grill seasoning (salt, pepper, garlic, onion) and use that on the burgers, along with a splash of Worcestershire sauce. Great video!

Hi Ry, thinner burgers are always the better tasting burgers. If you look at McDonald’s, their Pattie’s are pretty thin, about 1/4” thick. They just cook better this way. Sometimes less is more. When I make homemade burger Pattie’s, I make them 1cm thick, this gives them room to deflate as the fat burns off, then they wind up at 1/4” thick. Your burgers that you are using are perfect. I can’t get them here in Canada near me . They always make them too thick. To me, 3/4” is to thick to start out with. After all, McDonald’s sells more burgers than anywhere.

Off topic but a big tip I suggest for grilled chicken thighs and legs for charcoal is indirectly cook until almost done and then sear. I have tried searing 1st then putting em indirect and I get mad flare ups as the skin renders a lot of fat. If you start indirect also you can add wood chips/chunks and close up the lid and kick back, you dont have to get up every 2 mins to make sure your skin isnt burning into charcoal. I actually learned this after getting into cooking by way of BBQ and then went to culinary school. A lot of time with frozen patties on the gas grill i sear about 3-4 per side and when there is still liquid flip em all a few times to get excess liquid off then move indirect, put on cheese and let em go for 10-15 mins. I have a 3 burner so right 2 are for searing (i can fit 8) and left is off. This is a great way if you cook for large groups. It is a rotational thint and ensures everyone gets a hot patty. Once the 8 are done searing, move to the burner side thats off, add cheese and then add 8 more to the searing (right 2 burner side) and by the time those 8 are seared up rotate the indirect 8 to a plate and keep up the same rotation. I (stupidly) volunteered to cook for my sons baby shower and 1st b day party and the baby shower i loaded up the whole gas grillband got flare ups so i had to shut it down and fix the problem. My sons 1st b day i used my charcoal grill and learned the direct and indirect and it was smooth running. I served about 40 people with zero issues except my charcoal was end of its life for the last batch

I'd say they prolly cook them done then throw them all in a big pan with beef stock in it with tin foil over the pan and when u order a burger they slap it on the grill for a couple minutes each side with some cheese and they turn out surprisingly good..I didnt say healthy but good!

I typically put the patties on the Weber and season the top with Montreal steak seasoning. I close the kid and let them cook on the 1st side. As the top thaws it absorbs the seasoning and then I add seasoning to the other side when I flip. Great tip on adding the sauce while on the grill. I will give that a try! Great video!

Cost and convenience are definitely a big bonus, but one of the things that I continue to buy frozen burgers for is the simple fact that I can make them the way I want, and they come out better than most fast food and fast casual burgers. It's the little things, like toasting the buns just they way you like, or using the burger drippings to toast them in. Or cutting the onions how my family likes, maybe cooking them with the burgers too. Little things like that. Just grab them out of the freezer, get the pan or grill hot, and put them on. Season, cook, remove, dress, and eat. I love the home made burgers we make here from fresh ground beef, but honestly, the really good quality frozen burgers give me ninety percent of the payoff for less work and time. Thanks for the video and tips. Your burger looked great.
