Key & Peele

Key & Peele

3 жыл бұрын

A “cool teacher” contends with a particularly disruptive class clown.
About Key & Peele:
Key & Peele showcases the fearless wit of stars Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele as the duo takes on everything from "Gremlins 2" to systemic racism. With an array of sketches as wide-reaching as they are cringingly accurate, the pair has created a bevy of classic characters, including Wendell, the players of the East/West Bowl and President Obama's Anger Translator.

In my school, a lot of cool teachers get treated like shit. My science teacher is nice, but since every popular kid is a sheep, most kids treat her with a level of disrespect. The only adults that are not looked down upon are the coaches, custodians, teachers, and the a few staff throughout the campus. Outta 2000 kids though, the vast majority out weigh those who respect the staff they know on school grounds. At least, those that deserve that respect.

I had a very cool teacher named (and I swear I’m not making this up) Mr Solo. He was a science teacher at my school for a very short time and the best teacher I and my other classmates saw in that school. His time there was short cuz, as what happens with most excellent teachers I assume, he was offered a position at a university. I wished him the best but it always saddens me to think that universities and colleges are seen as more prestigious than mainstream schools when schools should be seen as a priority for teaching, not a stepping stone to a higher position. People think intelligent, special kids go into universities but that’s simply not true. Kids with rich parents are the majority that go into university, regardless of intelligence and it places the kids that don’t have that opportunity into mediocre schools with mediocre education taught be teachers who don’t really care if any of their students are successful as long as they are guaranteed their pay.

When I was a kid in school, I'd wonder why there weren't more "chill" teachers; now, being an adult and looking back on school kids, I get why. I totally get why all my teachers were "mean."
3 жыл бұрын
To be honest, all those Cool teachers usually really sucked in the end... Coming in with friendly attitude, lost their authority over time and got just frustrated and mean in the end while teaching nothing at all. I most fondly remember those strict, harsh but fair teachers, which could get the class to respect them and their authority, many of which I still meet sometimes and have friendly talk
@HEADSHOTPROLOL
@HEADSHOTPROLOL 3 жыл бұрын
@ opposite for me, the harsh strict ones were just that and didn't teach anyone anything nor do any good, in fact they just made the class disruptive and chaotic and that's it, and you could tell they didn't give af about teaching us really anything, they just bullied students and that's it. The chill, friendly down to earth ones were genuinely passionate about what they were teaching and because they weren't so horny and desperate for authority and power and were instead more like good friends with everyone in the class it turned an otherwise messy class to a really calm and nice one that was suddenly interested in what was being taught. Those are the ones where we follow each other on instagram and might suddenly stumble upon each other and have great chats, like friends, whilst those harsh strict ones I might pass by and I just make sure to keep a distance, cause man I'd have nothing else to say but fuck off. Besides those strict ones look so old and depressed today idk what would happen if they suddenly got told to fuck off. They'd fucking explode and have a heart attack on the spot from all their sad rage probably.
@spencerws8316
@spencerws8316 3 жыл бұрын
@@HEADSHOTPROLOL Sounds like someone has more years to live to understand how teachers should work. Instagram use/being friends with students is absolutely a red flag not just for a teacher, but for an adult. The mean teachers may have been too mean to you, but it is important that they did not worry about whether students liked them.
@HEADSHOTPROLOL
@HEADSHOTPROLOL 3 жыл бұрын
@@spencerws8316 so teachers should bully students and not actually teach them anything, and they shouldn't be kind to them creating a good calm environment that actually even made the most chaotic of students calm and focused, getting everyone to be interested in the subject at hand and the studies as a whole resulting in everyone making it out with good grades? Good philosophy man, must be why the world and education at large is in such a great state today.
@siddharthsingh1994
@siddharthsingh1994 3 жыл бұрын
@@HEADSHOTPROLOL I think you are missing the point here. Teachers should never be bullies, they will obviously suck if they are. But the "friendly" teachers usually just fail to control the kids to a level where they can be productive. The strict teacher who is fair though are able to have the attention of the class without having to control the class every second and are able to be more productive in the class. Other than that it is dependent on the teachers skill and will rather than personality.

This is the prequel to “ Substitute Teacher - Key & Peele” The moment the pony tail was cut was the moment he snapped. He lost his teaching license but had to make money and the only job qualification he had was teaching. So he went to a desperate inner-city school where they would hire whoever and let him in. They did. He worked there for years, and eventually earned his license back. He then, under a new principal, was allowed to sub there. Unfortunately, he never fully recovered from Jimmy. Upon thinking the students were ALL Jimmy’s, messing with him during attendance, he lost it again, this time for good. In fear of losing to Jimmy again, he lost himself.

Plot twist..teacher cuts his ponytail off and returns as substitute teacher Mr Garvey.. EDIT: Fast forward...Jimmy joins a gang, changes his name to Donnie Herrera and returns to the school to talk about CONSEQUENCES... DOUBLE PLOT TWIST - And all this started because one of them stole the other one's High-On-Potenus joke in a different life when they were in school together...

Man, I’ve had classmates like these, and they’re very annoying. They’re like anti-bullies, in that while bullies pick on others to get attention, kids like these turn themselves into a laughingstock to gain attention. Both are equally annoying.
