Yeah or when they ask where you got your law degree… it doesn’t matter if i do or do not have a law degree. The information is free and widely available online and has been for decades. It’s not inconceivable that someone would know their rights in any given situation. Cops wield the authority of the state and as such they are reluctant to admit when they are wrong because they perceived it as a reversal of power roles. If they are not totally in control of every situation they just start arresting people and let the courts sort it out because their odds are pretty good that even if the court sides with the citizen nothing will come of it personally for the officer. It’s pathetic and messed up but we live in a police state.

Think of it from a laborer's perspective. If an object was in a walkway getting in the way of doing their job they would likely move it to get it out of the way. Same thing with cops. The constitution is an obstacle that gets in the way of them doing what they want to do. They take great offense to anyone who knows their rights. There should be a task force of not less than ten people earning $60,000 per year plus benefits, paid by this officer and his pension to review every arrest and ticket this officer has issued since his hiring. Every case should go before a panel of judges, also paid by the officer to retry every case. He should then face a civil suit for a minimum of $500,000 and the assets of the department that employed him. Unlawful actions by officers need to cost them and their departments large sums until they begin to follow the law.
