I have a 2004 330 Xi which has the same dash display as your BMW. The yellow oil light means your oil is low, when it first appears the light will go out once the oil does heat up. Eventually the light will not go out. As long as it’s yellow you’re “ok” but you should add oil. If it goes red add oil immediately. The older 3 series BMW’s seem to burn a little oil over time so you’ll see the light every now and then. Just add about 1/2 quart and it should go out.

Hi Randy. I am a former employee of Kia Motors, Toyota and more recently, Honda Corporate as well as Carfax corporate. My whole life has been centered around cars but my most proud passion is safety! Getting to tour the IIHS was amazing. What I will tell you, yes Kias do have a great warranty however can not recommend, even the newer ones. Toyota/Lexus absolutely no complaints. After owning several myself, even while I was with Kia's Regional Office, never had any problems. As a real life example for you, Kia has 1 Field Technical Representative for about four states. Toyota has about 12 per area. Honda, good company but actually some quality issues, little more than Toyota. What I do want to make note of as I don't take it lightly, I am all about the history of older cars but the sad reality is they are not safe. Even cars we think would be don't have the essential safety features like side and knee air bags, but the overall structures will completely collapse. Even older pick up trucks we think of as indestructible, watch the videos. There have been some controversies going on in the safety industry and I can tell you that Ford rigged its crash test for the Ford F150 crew cab vs the extended cab, knowing the crew can would be the one being tested, as it's the most popular model. Please people do your research on safety and actually look at the crash test videos. Also, as we all probably know, the Carfax report is not always accurate and it was the worst company I have ever worked for. If you question the report, they will not tell you where they got their actual information from. Most of it was confidential and was acquired from data sharing via parts warehouses and companies. We were not allowed to disclose anything, even if it was a mistake and the owner was trying to verify it. Total loss info we could verify but damage and some accident info, we could not. Billions of records. Shady, shady company. Be well and I really enjoy your videos. Currently rocking a sometimes crappy Jeep but my fave car I've had was my 08 Lexus ES. So reliable and good in the snow! Enjoy all!

One is yellow which means oil level is low. And the other one is red meaning oil pressure issue. What I normally see with this is if you have a yellow light that comes on then goes out its an issue with your oil level sensor and needs to be replaced. If its red then you need pressure sensor or engine.

another great video! I've always loved the carnage parts myself. Like you, I always see a carnage car/truck/suv weather it be at a junk yard or a tow truck, or one of your videos, and always try to think/picture what actually happened. Also as i've said before its great to see how well some of the newer vehicles actually hold up/withstand such crazy impact to where the body/car itself looks horrible and demolished, but the inside where passengers and driver would be are untouched minus airbags and safety equipment. but the fact that people actually walk away from those wrecks is awesome. shows how well cars are made now a days compared to back in the old days and even up to the early 2000s. Keep the carnage and if people get butthurt about it, they can fast forward through it. Not sure if thats why you stopped the carnage shots or not but whatever, glad to see it back even if they arent the worst of the worst. You and monkey wrench Mike are a great duo lol.. Go with the GTI or the Mercedes, both would make awesome content for sure!! I love watching your videos. I go between you and Hoovies Garage every couple days! congrats on the 200k subscribers, forgot to mention it when it happened! Been working a lot so trying to catch up on the content, i barley have time to watch so idk how you manage to video, work, edit and everything else you do as well lol. Much love from the south side of Chicago man!

On the E46, the dancing rpm's are due to a sticky idle control valve. You can acces it by removing the throttle body (4 bolts) and the Disa needs to be taken off. The ICV is held on by a bracket, using 2 10mm bolts.

I had an ‘02 Trailblazer with the I6 and it went into reduced engine power, aka limp mode because the throttle body was going out. It’s the trucks way of limiting power to reduce the chance of catastrophic engine failure. It’ll allow you to limp out of harms way before a tow.

380SL known for timing chain issues. If it is just bad gas/empty, you can get it to start and you can get it for
@iliaslamari7315
@iliaslamari7315 4 жыл бұрын
Randy, the golf 6 GTI has the 2.0 TSI engine and indeed a timing chain, no belt. The problem these engines have is that the oil scrape piston rings where too short (2nd generation from 2008 had this issue) to achieve less resistance, and therefore low CO2 values. Only this can lead to extreme oil consumption, and even engine failure, there are enough topics on the internet with the explanation. In fact, just the design of the engine is not that good. The timing chain was less sensitive than with the 1.4 TSI engine (they didn't sell the 1.4 in the US), but you do hear about problems with the camshaft adjusters. So, if you can't get here this thing running, it would be a big gamble. But the parts a worth a fortune. So it's still worth the risk in my option.
@aldinnukicic3458
@aldinnukicic3458 4 жыл бұрын
Okay here’s the gist. Vw and Audi use the same 2.0t and yes all 2.0t from 09 to 19 use the timing chain. The reason for the plastic cover, I have no idea but other than you should get the GTI.
@SocietyOfDarknessnat
@SocietyOfDarknessnat 4 жыл бұрын
On the f250 super duty, it has a 6.4 powerstroke.. this engine has a terrible reputation for cylinders 2 or 8 pistons to melt... the reason is the government upped emissions regulations on diesel exhaust, and ford had a problem with their DPF’s clogging..... and the truck would get stuck in “regen” so cylinders 2 and 8 would burn hotter and melt... so R.I.P

12:19 my theory is that the windows cracked from the air pressure when the bags blew. They're laminated not toughened so that kind of concussive force more likely damaged them, plus the way they seal means they're not supported from being pushed outwards. Note how most of the cracking is toward the bottoms like they were pushed out.
@danmackintosh6325
@danmackintosh6325 4 жыл бұрын
Oh yes that powerstroke was one to walk from IMO. The reduced engine power thing isn't so much a worry, it can be as simple as low DEF or a glow plug but what really bothered me was how damn oily that thing was all over. '08 at 150k shouldn't look that bad unless it's been abused to hell and back plus the oil filler looked like it was drilled for some reason. Maybe excess crankcase pressure (hence oil everywhere) but any vehicle with a problem "solved" by drilling a hole need avoided!

@AFSFJB
@AFSFJB 4 жыл бұрын
Lol at the GTI. It is chain driven..... no the chain does not run the high pressure fuel pump. It is driven off the intake cam and the chain runs both cams. You’re thinking of the belt drive engine in the Passat which has a belt on the intake cam and then a chain to run the exhaust cam. At 106k you’d be facing the obvious fire damage. Possible chain elongation. P0299 underboost. And rear main seal leaks. Also DMF issues. Feel free to shout out in a video about any VW or Audi I’d gladly give my input!!!
