Laurence Fishburne would be perfect to play Baldwin "Bulletproof" Vess. Now the question is who would play arch-nemesis, Brandon "Big Boss" Babel? Something worth discussing!!!

The part where Buttons get spooked and almost kills a butterfly is hilarious . Night Shade snatched him out of there like he was a bad child🤣 That part used to always crack me up.
@WaldoBagelTopper11 ай бұрын
Such detail though, right? So much storytelling in just a few short seconds. They had a few seconds to show what each character can do. Nightshade doing the break in, and the excuse (butterfly) to show the kids that buttons has machine guns in his chest. Such a well thought out and semi lost piece of cartoon history.

@MatthewTheWolf2029 Жыл бұрын
@@Magnet_Chaos Makes sense.
@johnpenguinthe3rd13 Жыл бұрын
Not only is it more expensive, but it takes an incredibly longer time to animate a full season of episodes with this high quality of animation. One of the reasons why animated movies in general look so much better than most animated shows. Animating a movie which is about 70 to 90 minutes long is easier than a full season of episodes which might be 5 to 10 HOURS long and episodes have a much stricter deadline (a movie can be delayed a year or more and there usually won't be much of a problem. However, they can only delay episodes for a TV season for only a short amount of time since if they promise, for example, 24 episodes for the season and only manage to get out 8 while the other 16 episodes keep getting delayed and might not come out during the season they were promised, most TV network execs will start flipping out at the cartoon's creative team).

It seems that, at some point in the last 20 years, it became passe for a kid's cartoon to have adult protagonists. It was common in the 80s, with shows like G.I. Joe, MASK, Centurions, and C.O.P.S. having few if any young protagonists. Nowadays, it seems that, unless it's based on a comic book or is a reboot of an older show, the protagonists of any kid's show must themselves be a kid. Did the suits in charge of the networks just arbitrarily decide that kids would relate better to characters their own age and decided any original series must have under-18 protagonists?
@martenas53415 жыл бұрын
Every decision made nowadays, with but few exceptions, is sadly, about bottom line profits. They think that kids need to see kids doing things in order for it to sale to the biggest audience possible. The execs mess with everything, because "any investment must yeild maximum return". To the point that mediocrity winning over meritocracy. Hell! The main reason MARVEL studios movie division is currently doing so well over at Disney, is because through some act of god, they decided not to touch that studio. Atleast not to the point that it influences story decisions. To let the creatives generally have reign, and for nerdy comic fans/writers/creators to be in charge & create truly awesome things. Stories about real adults, sacrificing...now thats something i want my kid to look up to. Animation that's time consuming & hand drawn is always heavily scrutinized by the wrong people. Its why you dont get stuff killer stuff like batman beyond. That has a high-school protagonist, but still is somehow way more adult than anything these days. Kids used to look up to cool adults; Fireman, policemen, astronauts, artistic geniuses soldiers, heroes...superheroes! Now we are teaching them to just be self-indulgent, self-entitled, and self-absorbed. But hey... no violence -_- Just a crap ton of mental health issues! But that wont lead to incredibly cruel mindless acts of destruction... riiiiiight. ;)
@bbqking74105 жыл бұрын
Speaking of both M.A.S.K. & C.O.P.S., believe it or not, they were both in the same universe as G.I. Joe, all battling villain groups Cobra, V.E.N.O.M. AND C.R.O.O.K.S., respectively to protect freedom and uphold justice!!!

+L Moore I was 5 when this aired. It ran Saturday mornings on Fox during 1988-1990.
@D2Kprime8 жыл бұрын
+L Moore Yes and no. Cartoons distributed by DIC Entertainment had a history of producing amazing intros for cartoons, yet the animation of the actual cartoon itself left a lot to be desired. You saw that with COPS, Inspector Gadget, The Real Ghostbusters, and many others. In fact, most cartoons of the 80s blew a lot of their budget on intro sequences. I guess if you want people to tune in initially you need to catch their eye. Still, they are leaps and bounds better quality in every category compared to today's cartoons.
@ArcturusMinsk8 жыл бұрын

This was the closest thing to "anime" we had in the US at the time. The intro holds up really well.

What a weird thing to say. This isn't like anime at all, it's just an action cartoon. Besides anime existed back then though it wasn't wide spread. Grimm's Fairytales, Speed Racer and Sailor Moon say hi. You could even argue for The Littles.

if they EVER try to make a new era cartoon where cops are cool and portrayed as "superheros" twitter, facebook, and CC will be ALL OVER THEIR ASS

Eh, not really, given all of these guys are properly trained competent Cops. People have a problem with corrupt pieces of shit. Which is sadly the case with most Police Unions in the US right now.
