@Loku2423 жыл бұрын
@@Enoughalready20237 They wouldn't die on the highway if they just took license plate numbers without pulling over speeding drivers on an 80mph highway.. With dash cams on cop cars, they'd only have to tail someone for a few seconds without pulling them over at all, risking their lives and the lives of the other drivers in the process. Or maybe just don't write speeding tickets for drivers on the highway at all. Just have a cop car parked in plain sight like they typically do already. Just the parked cop car is deterrent enough. But I get it, the city needs revenue from speeding tickets, and if that means ordering cops to needlessly risk their lives and endanger the public to write those precious precious speeding tickets, then who am I to argue the logic of putting public servants in a position where they endanger the public and themselves to nickel and dime drivers, maybe terrorize minorities because their race somehow means they deal drugs (like anyone even believes in the war on drugs anymore seeing as we've had 40 years to witness that its bullshit). Then how can I argue against the city's need for money because clearly there isn't any alternatives like throwing a fair or festival to both fund raise and unite the community to take part in a carefree day of fun, or maybe stop giving tax breaks to corporate giants like Amazon just to entice them to set up shop in town and create jobs that pay so little that it kills the economy, or another idea, make weed legal to purchase, possess, and consume, then tax weed sales like with booze. But hey, clearly the city explored all these alternatives and decided endangering the public by making public servants pull cars over for traffic tickets, arrests, fines, and court costs, disrupting the flow of traffic and risking lives and property on an 80mph highway was the ONLY option.

I seriously contemplated joining the police force after leaving active duty. I took the 100hr police course offered at the local college. Near the end of the course they had a guest speaker come in to talk with the class. He was probably mid to late 40's, around 5' 8" and a bit overweight. He held up a five cell mag light and presented it to the class. It was beat to hell and had obviously seen a lot wear, tear and abuse. He asked the class, "Do you know why my flashlight looks like this?" He went on to explain, "I worked Downeast." (As in Downeast Maine) "They grow them boys big down there and they love to scrap!" "Every one of those dings, dents and scuff marks came from me laying it up beside someone's head." I was born and grew up in Downeast Maine. His comment didn't go over too well with me. Needless to say, that speaker helped me decide that I never wanted to be associated with such an arrogant, blow hard. With my luck I'd be the guy having to back him up. No thank you! Everything about the guy reeked of cockiness and arrogance and reflected poorly upon everyone that wears a badge. I had several offers from different police agencies after I graduated the class. Although I really needed a job, I could not bring myself to follow up on any of the offers that I received. I think it was a wise decision upon my part and I don't have any regrets.

I’m a 70 year old retired firefighter I’ve seen firsthand what cops do and it’s not pretty. But I have one big question? First I believe we are between a rock and a hard spot. The older cops the ones that have been there 20+ are getting out. We know that for years and years they’ve been doing us dirty because there was no accountability cameras etc. so now they’re getting out because they can’t practice law or so-called law heavy-handed like they used to. Hell I’ve even heard cops say that 20 years ago we would’ve just killed them. And now we have the new cops coming, with her high school diploma’s, or GED‘s, and in the schools today they’re taught that their feelings is the most important thing to them. So today we’re hiring a bunch of feelings police. The minute they get their feelings hurt or their questioned , Bama Slama and here we go. The problem is we the people pay for their mistakes. Y’all know we have to pay for the lawsuits against them, and we pay because they say we have to. But oh my God don’t question them, because they don’t have a corner to go Cry in. Especially when they’re caught lying. I guess so what I’m getting at is the younger generation likes to act tough because they’re in the blue line gang and they’re not here for us anymore people their revenue worse and killers they beat up innocent people and destroying lives. The ones that are hurting the most our children are young ones. They screw with them because they don’t know their rights, they put them in their database and start stacking up shit as much shit as they can on you from a young age. Then they start indoctrinating them our children into they’re Nazi like business. The sad part is they call them selves a Hero 😤

@Eugrne Jacson Funny enough I believe, with my limited knowledge of all case law, that not one citizen has used the phase "citizen safety" to counter "officer safety" in court. This would, or rather should, provide context to counteract "officer safety" considering we, the citizens, pay them already to put themselves in potentially dangerous situations so we don't have to. They get commendations for that stuff. They get their rank by arresting people. Which is why they ask so many questions. Hoping that you say or do something they can charge you with. Also, it's best to have a dash camera that shows your speed. This helps your lawyer show the corruption of the officers.
