That cry is NOT a normal cry of a child, that is a cry of pure anguish. My heart breaks for these babies.

I've been around many, many young children. I've never heard a child cry like that. The only way I could imagine a young child crying this way is if all of their cries, whether it be for food, a clean diaper, love and attention, have been ignored for so long that they become desperate and terrified. A child that young wouldn't understand or know how to handle this sort of situation. They no longer cry because they're hungry, thirsty, etc. They SCREAM because they are terrified and don't know what else to do. My heart hurts for these little ones.

My husband and I were licensed foster parents for three years. We took in emergency placements like this in the middle of the night. The damage neglect does to children is heartbreaking. We adopted our last placement - a baby boy from the NICU born to a woman who used drugs and drank throughout the pregnancy that ended prematurely at 28 weeks. Our son was taken c-section due to active herpes. We couldn’t take the emotional toll of it all. My heart breaks for these little ones.

@@itscc2004I had only one child, but the pregnancy was quite awful, leaving me with permanent health issues. I knew someone else who ended up with permanent depression, and someone else who had to be sectioned for a whole year. So, yes, pregnancy can be very traumatic and damaging. But to adopt and foster is a marvellous thing to do, to be there to give needy children a good, steady, safe environment. My neighbour has fostered children for many years, taking on all the most difficult cases, treating them with patience and kindness no matter the difficulties they present. She's retiring from fostering this year, due to personal health issues, but she has been an excellent mum to many children over the decades.

7:52 "Maybe *put up* your drug paraphernalia." (And by "put up," I think the cop means "put up for sale" the paraphernalia - in order to make extra money?) I think this is further supported by her response....as the woman responds to him suggesting she "put up the paraphernalia," by saying: "it's not mine." The objects not belonging to her would not affect her ability to "put them away," but the objects belonging to someone else would _definitely_ affect her ability to "put them up for sale" and sell them.

Grew up the same way, except for being lucky enough to have a father that truly loved and cared for us. That last part about the husband filing a missing person's report on the wife is exactly how my dad found my mom on a boat with another man. She had been trying to leave us for longer periods of time until we became desensitized to it, and finally decided to take her chance at leaving us for good. As a mom to a one-year-old, I can confirm that babies and toddlers are loud and vocal. But that is BEYOND normal vocalization for a kiddo. That is major distress. I have a 2yo that screams at the top of his lungs if something displeases him, and it can be something as simple as his 7yo brother looking at him wrong. But they don't generally wail and scream for extended periods of time, as its exhausting and draining. Generally, once they get your attention, they settle. To continue like that is not right, they've been neglected and ignored...

I knew a couple like this that had a baby daughter that they clearly neglected. She was two months old and weighed five pounds. They were strung out on pain meds all the time. I just straight up asked them if I could take her home with me and she ended up living with me for the next 18 months. I tried to adopt her but it fell through and they moved out of the state. I found out they had three more kids after they left and they were all taken away at the hospital for several months bc the mom always tested positive for drugs:/ then she died of an overdose not too long ago. I'll always remember and miss "my" little girl.

Thank you for rescuing that baby. I had the same story, at 2 months old I weighed 6lbs and was on the verge of death. I had 2 older half siblings aged 4 and 6. The 6 year old saved my life by going to school filthy and malnourished it prompted a social worker visit to the house. I had pneumonia, a severe and dangerous diaper rash, I was dehydrated and stopped breathing, they called an ambulance and I was revived 3 times in the hospital. Then all 3 of us were put in foster care and the father of my siblings came and got them from out of state. I was just passed from foster home to foster home. I have emotional problems and health problems my whole life. But at least I survived. My mother, as far as I was told, was not on drugs during that 2 months after I was born, she was simply impoverished and had severe depression and mental health issues and all she did was lay on the couch and smoke cigarettes next to me. The older two had to feed and take care of themselves. It was so sad and of course when parents know they are neglecting their babies they don't take them to the dr for fear they'll get caught, the kids removed, and possibly in trouble. So they never seek help. It makes me angry thinking about it. She knew she had mental health issues and incapable of taking care of 3 kids but was too selfish to give us up because she was getting welfare for all 3 of us. I would've died had I not been rescued that day and she wouldn't have ever notified anyone just kept collecting welfare. She had another child 2 years after me she raised and he turned out a horrible useless raging alcoholic and pot addict who had nothing to do with the 3 babies he fathered. I'm just thankful I finally ended up adopted at age 5 by good people. Did you ever notify social services about what was going on? No child should have been put back in their care.

Not debating that this conditions were unacceptable and unsafe especially for babies. ….We had cockroaches everywhere as they kept entering via drains from near by mine. My parents tried everything for years and even when they got rid of the roaches they came back in. One day after having them all over for over 5 years we have found the nicotine based poison which was not known in my country until that time and it worked and finally we got rid of them. Beside this I was not neglected and generally speaking my parents tried hard to manage to look after us with very little money. @@shantelstonehouse A misdemeanor (American English,[1] spelled misdemeanour elsewhere) is any "lesser" criminal act in some common law legal systems. Misdemeanors are generally punished less severely than more serious felonies, but theoretically more so than administrative infractions (also known as minor, petty, or summary offences) and regulatory offences. Typically, misdemeanors are punished with monetary fines or community service. In the United States, misdemeanors are typically crimes with a maximum punishment of 12 months of incarceration, typically in a local jail as contrasted with felons, who are typically incarcerated in a prison. Jurisdictions such as Massachusetts are a notable exception; the maximum punishment of some misdemeanors there is up to 2.5 years.[20] People who are convicted of misdemeanors are often punished with probation, community service, short jail term, or part-time incarceration such as a sentence that may be served on the weekends.

My mama literally raised the 3 of us alone for years while my dad was in the military. She had no one in America to help her, all her siblings were in another country. We did not live on a military base but roughed it out in a small tiny apt and grew up rather poor. But it was always cleaned and my mom always had food on the table for us to eat. Anyone that can do that is literally amazing in my book. So, amazing job for being an amazing mother to your 4 kids. :)

That's what is wrong with our court system. These officers did everything right, then some blatant stupid ass judge let's them off. That's why you should ALWAYS vote NO at voting time when you are asked if you should retain judge so and so. They leave them in office too dang long!

@@melodie155 1)a judge only rules on a case that is presented before him/her. he/she doesn't get to decide what or if charges will be made, that is on the city/state district attorney's office. They can deny a plea deal offered by the DA, that rarely if ever happens though. 2) there is a reason for plea deals in many cases. which i don't care to get into. in this case in particular there was plenty of proof of child neglect. however, there may not have been enough proof to get the felony conviction. there has to be an intent to do harm to get the felony conviction. This was not the case here. these were a couple of meth heads that had no business having kids. as they couldn't take care of themselves much less anyone else. Hell, in their drugged out states of mind they probably didn't even realize how much hey they were neglecting them, and actually believed they were doing right by the children. what we see as a society as fair justice and what the law sees as fair justice are not always the same thing. but it has to be applied the same to everyone equally. Intent is much harder to prove. And had they wen to court and went after the felony charge without the proof of intent they would have lost the case, they wouldn't have been able to charge them again, and the children would have been released back into their custody. Is that what you really want to have happened? And while i agree that the sentence that the judge handed down was to lenient, we also have to take into consideration that we don't know if there were any added on conditions. such as drug rehab, parenting classes, etc. We also know that misdemeanors don't carry long sentences. that's just a fact of life. we don't don't know theand while we don't current welfare of the children, we do know they weren't returned to the family. that would be in the records and would be public information. so pray that whereever they landed is a mach beter and safer place than where they were. keep in mind, that most drug/alcohol addicts become that way because they are trying to cope with some kind demons of their own. and that addiction takes them away from that pain they are feeling. i'm praying that since the children were placed with other family members that what they were trying to run from didn't tart from within the family. i pray for the safety of the children and not worry about the what or what not we feel the courts should have done. Karma will eventually catch up to those wo and her justice is will not be kind o hem. But the children are innocents.. they need our prayers.

Which I 100% did when my baby was young and I was suffering with PPD. But NO WAY, even with the issues I was having would I ever allow it to get to this level of neglect. @@cayt23 Yep! I have also allowed my baby to “cry it out” from time to time and that is normal and necessary, even without PPD. Sometimes babies are inconsulable and there is literally nothing you can do as a parent but wait. But THIS video is beyond that. This is severe neglect. She is completely tapped out and she should not be parenting them at all. It’s sad because this is how babies develop attachment disorders like reactive attachment disorder or avoidant attachment disorder. They literally grow up not knowing how to have healthy attachments to people because they learned at an early age that they can not trust people to tend to their needs. Their parents basically ruin their lives. I hate that.

@Rae_777

@@mikoto7693 That’s the opposite of how it works. The younger a child is when experiencing emotional abuse by neglect, the more profound the damage, particularly to basic brain development, autoimmune disease development in adulthood, heart disease, diabetes, and of course the obvious psychiatric conditions, profound personality disorders, learning disabilities, and vocational problems (being intelligent or capable but inexplicably overwhelmed by the demands of work that appear easier for others, and certainly are much easier for others). Not all children grow up to have mental health issues (though nearly all will be diagnosed with ADHD at some point in life), but all will be physically less well and at risk for serious diseases like MS, Crohn’s, and cancers, compared to very young children whose emotional needs are met. Remember the terror in a traditional “memory” is really the least of the implications, because our bodies keep the score.

I grew up extremely poor and one thing I remember is we always had a clean home and at least food to eat. I had one meal at home and one or two at school. My mother made many sacrifices to make sure her kids were safe and healthy. Watching that woman starve at times to make food last for her 3 kids really had an impact on who I became as an adult. My 4 kids come first, end of story. Thankfully I've been blessed and my wife and I are able to provide for all their needs. I personally feel that as soon as you bring a child into this world it stops being about you until they become adults.

Similar to my story. My mom got pregnant at 16, by her abusive and controlling boyfriend (my biological father) and had me at barely 17. She worked often two jobs, made sure I had everything I needed and plenty of what I wanted, learned how to budget, car maintenance, basic home repairs, etc. She raised me with love and self-sacrifice, and I grew up never having touched a drug, a cigarette, and even now at age 53, I've never even been drunk before. I became a teacher and Human Development expert, have lived a mostly happy and productive life, and I own it all to a terrified, inexperienced, and undereducated teen girl who pulled herself together for MY sake. THANK YOU FOR SAYING IT! I grew up with both parents being addicts. The condition of our place was deplorable. A DCF worker would come in and sit in front of me and my brother and ask questions with my parents sitting directly behind the DCF worker looking at us. The worker would ask things like “are you happy? Do you feel safe? Are you hungry? Do your parents hit you?” How could a child feel safe answering those questions knowing if they answer them honestly, they’ll have consequences to pay afterwards??? Our caseworker should be ashamed of herself. All she was concerned with was the refrigerator. She would make sure there was milk, cheese, eggs, and bread and then leave. I can’t tell you how many times she didn’t even pay attention to the fact that the electric was shut off and there was an extension cord running from the fridge to the neighbors house just so we would pass the “inspection”. It’s disgusting that Florida is more concerned with “uniting families” than it is with safety for children. Now as a mother, I’m OCD over cleanliness and organization. We have a big house and so many toys, games, and areas that feel so safe and welcoming. I always ask myself if it’s enough. I overcompensate with my children because of what I’ve been through. We lost electric for 2 days because of a hurricane and seeing the kids sweaty and eating canned food triggered me so hard that it sent me into an emotional spiral from things I didn’t realize were my unhealed trauma. I didn’t even fail my kids, the weather did lol

I was removed from my moms care as a kid. It was just her and I at the house. Cockroach infested, no food at all, nasty conditions. When the officer said “roaches crawling on you at nighttime” … that’s exactly what I went through. I’d wake up and have roaches on me every night. While starving. While my mom just got drunk and had different dudes over every night. My dad didn’t know about any of this. But one weekend I went to visit my dad at his house. And when it was time for me to go back to my moms on Sunday, I just had enough and I told my dad I refused to go back. But we knew my mom wasn’t going to be happy about it. We had to tell my mom that my dad was taking me to a movie late Sunday night and that he would take me to school the next day. But instead, my dad took me to the DHS office that following Monday, and I told them everything that was happening. They went to inspect my moms house and also found it deplorable. They immediately placed me with my dad. And then my dad got full custody of me. My dad became my hero more than ever. I was 11 at that time. He literally saved me from childhood depression and neglect. My life was literal hell with her. Still to this day, she never got her 💩 together. And now instead of drinking, she’s been on meth since I was 19 and now I’m 29. 💜 RIP Dad. 🌹

Who cares, in some cases seatbelts have killed. It goes beyond that, people have been pulled over for dumb shite, like signaling one way and then signaling another. Does that really require a coo to pull you over? Or a back plate light being out? Is that really necessary to pull a person over? And ticket? So yes there are nonsense traffic stops. There are so many resources. Not everyone abuses the system either I immediately got on my feet and have been supporting him on my own since. It seems this father had a job so where was the money going? If someone doesn't make much everything theymake should go to their family because those babies didn't ask to be brought Into this world and they chose to keep them and not give them up for adoption to a family that could take care of them.
