I love infiltration's pragmatic approach to fighting games - rather than focusing on the negative he's always looking for a way to take advantage and even have fun with a situation. He was the same with SFxT. Great job, guys.

I'm a bit annoyed that most of the top comments are about how SFV is trash. We get it. The game has a lot of garbage elements, and Capcom is dealing with the community poorly. But there's no need to make people feel guilty for enjoying or playing SFV. It's one thing to complain about a game, but you cross a line when you belittle others for playing a game that makes them happy. I know we're better than this.

7Karma No he doesn't mean we shouldn't criticize the game. He's saying we shouldn't criticize the people playing the game. If the game is doomed to fail, then let the players fail with the game. Don't go out of your way and say how much of an idiot he or she is by playing X game.

Yeah. It's getting tiring, but that's like all the on-line gaming community right now. Not only FGC. They just won't let people enjoy it without shoving their complaints everyone's throats. Right now, it is what it is.

Thanks for this. I dont play SFV and I dont think I ever will, but Infiltration's approach is applicable to many competitive games, not only SFV. I do the "shimmy" thing a lot in For Honor, by lock/unlock while walking forward, it is pretty much the same concept, bait your opponent into an opening. Keep up the good work man, you are an inspiration. ^_^

Non crush counter counterhit gives 2 more frames of hitstun, not 3. The cammy counterhit combo works because her st hp has 6 frames startup, not 7. Dunno if this was a translation error or if infil was mistaken
@HatsonFGC
@HatsonFGC 7 жыл бұрын
@ 14:52 - Counter-hits give universally +2 extra frame advantage in SFV. Unless it's a Crush Counter, then it's unique depending on the move / properties / ground / air, etc. Cammy's cr.LP is +4 oH, st.HP is 6fr startup, not 7fr like Infiltration said. cr.LP is +6 on counter-hit without being meaty.

Tip with shimmy: in other games it is also centered around pokes and going in and out range of a poke. If done correctly this will lead to a whiff punish.

@EliosMoonElios
@EliosMoonElios 7 жыл бұрын
Because FSV have no flaws, CAPCOM deliberately make the game Rock, Paper, Scissors based to make low level players win more easy and make high level players less dominant. Like runners with parachutes at their back to slow down the faster and allow the slower to reach him. And no, Punk is not a good refutal, every season new players rise and fall, when we get a constant top 16 in high-end tournaments then SFV could be skill game.

(on 14:52) Counter hit only gives +2 aditional frames of advantage...and Cammy s.HP is 6f of startup. Please make a note on the video so no misinformation is spread.
@singaporestrayan6384
@singaporestrayan6384 7 жыл бұрын
Caio Padoan de Sá Godinho Sorry not so sure what is the context of your statement so I might be wrong but, isn't it an extra +2 frames of advantage and not just +2 frames advantage? So if you hit someone with a move that normally has +4 on hit and get counter hit so it totals to +6 advantage resulting in a possible cammy s.HP link? I'm just a scrub in silver so feel free to roast me if I'm wrong.
@caiopadoandesagodinho8568
@caiopadoandesagodinho8568 7 жыл бұрын
You are correct Singapore, and that is exactly what I meant. But check the video again. On 14:52, Infil says that counter hit gives an extra +3 frames of advantage (wrong information). If that was not enough, he says Cammy's s.HP has 7f of startup (wrong information). c.LP (counter hit) + s.HP links because 4+2=6, and not because 4+3=7. That is my point.

I just got into sfv and I love using akuma and Karin so far they’re the only ones I know how to play but when it comes to a real game I get smashed by like button mashers I’m used to tekken and then I come here where your supposed to respect your opponents but they just spam crouching attacks and always catch me with them I’m not too sure on how the play style of this game is played but I’m loving it despite the losses ahahahaha
@yopeepthestyle8308
@yopeepthestyle8308 6 жыл бұрын
Cosmo Zatan you cant button mash in sf as in Tekken. sweeps are slow, learn to anticipate and block them and then combo into special or into ex special to punish them. if they keep sweeping jump but watch out for uppercut, use overheads and crossovers, anything really. watch the other beginner guide video and it should help a grand deal together with this one

I play a shit ton of For Honor and it's recently being given a Duel Tournament mode for testing, which acts like the Ranked mode for the game, and despite how shit it's balance is, I've incorporated a lot of the videos such as the one reducing skill gap, buff more than nerf, taunting and mindgames, and how that applies in For Honor's context over at /r/competitiveforhonor, needless to say, it's been more than helpful in getting my point across in a game where it was marketed towards non-fighting game players, and as a result has lead to a lot of crybabies. Thanks for all the info!

What makes SF4 better than SF5?
@walmartian422
@walmartian422 3 жыл бұрын
Totally different games. I think the conbo systems in sf4 are better and you get alot more hard knockdowns so there is alot more 50/50 type gameplay going on. In sf5 you can really only get a clean hard knockdown off a counter sweep because there is a roll/quick rise mechanic off of knockdown. From what I hear from zoning players sf5 is much harder to execute in that department but I wouldnt know because I never played those types of characters in either game.

I find it comical how many people say SF5 is shit because they die to bad players and can't understand why. It makes complete sense that they wouldn't let veterans just auto pilot their way through a brand new game. The only issue I have had with sf5 is the point scoring system errors a lot.

The way people complain about SFV you'd think that you were supposed to let the other person get off wake up for FREE And Y'all always complain About how shallow/simple SFV combo and mechanics are but then when you get knocked down it's " To much much of a guessing game" "guess fighter 5" it's either grab/shimmy or frame trap it's not that complex. You can't have it both ways

Ultra Street Fighter II for the Switch is pretty good. You have to be skilled in order to win, unlike SFIV, where memorizing button patterns wins matches.
@yopeepthestyle8308
@yopeepthestyle8308 7 жыл бұрын
algol291 "memorizing button patterns" funny how you described literally one of the numerous core mechanics of fighters from virtual figher, mk to killer instict and sf.
@algol291
@algol291 7 жыл бұрын
I'm not talking about the basic moves, like Ryu's Hadoken, Shoryuken, or hurricane kick. I mean memorizing certain patterns from SF IV, where if you don't know them, you have no chance of winning. That is why the new Ultra Street Fighter II for the Switch is so good. It's the core moves and the player's ability to be able to strike and counter strike at the right time that decides fights. Not hitting certain button pattern sequences to pull off 60% damage. That isn't even fun. Who wants to memorize like ten plus different intricate combinations? I hope you didn't think I meant the simple moves I listed as "button patterns".

don't get me wrong, i've saw all of it, but yet you kept saying "Guessing" "enemy guess harder", i still don't understand why my friends and random ppl keep saying this isn't a "kinda 50% or more guess game", So wait your character in air and the other guy resets you with lightpunch, he got the option to be infront of you "either grab, overhead, hitting from low" OR go behind you grab or overhead or hitting from low, yeah lets keep guessing sounds fun, even if you try to EX DP.. you`ll get owned X), and i play SF5 Somtimes with friends.. just because they don't know how to play SF3rd strike...else would've never touched the game.

AKuM4 EX DP is invincible to everything, so if you use it, you would win every time just they block. Also, 50/50 situations exist in every SF. I think SFV really highlights this as there less defensive options. Maybe Season 3 will change this?
@Dodgethis1337
@Dodgethis1337 7 жыл бұрын
Yes mate, but in thirdstrike even if there's invincible ..they wont do it.. you know why? there's more options defensively, called parry, so most of time there's mindgaming and more options to do things rather than just "ok lets see if he does this or that or relay on chance" but hopefully what i heard is true, that ORO + Q + Necro + 1more character will be added in the game..which is same season they will implement new thing "ultra choosing" it`ll make everything different, but hopefully it reduces the "luck guess based chances".
@yopeepthestyle8308
@yopeepthestyle8308 7 жыл бұрын
AKuM4 i think you missing the point. while 3rd strike was much more technical and skill required without a doubt. the guessing is part of the reading and analyzing progress, quick guessing was even needed in sf2 and mk1 arcade days. no matter how much you shimmy, zone or bait theres always the random factor of playing another human being. thats the essence of mind games, guessing what the other player will do and if his next move is honest or not

you could play sf for years without all of this... as you should... i think, and then. after you know how to play you start implementing some of this..... cause the basics is what's important. what's really bad... is when people start out watching these videos and start making a name for themselves with "advanced techniques"... miss out of the entire game.... not ever having any fun..... cause they get to a point where they can't progress cause to them street fighter is just a bunch of cheap tricks. i guess i'm just thinking about old sf4 life. .... but yea... if you already have a couple years with your ryu or ken, you could take this.... but if you're starting out as an ibuki or laura... and you're looking at frame data second week.... i duno. mvc2 days, that's scrub. .... the game's not bad, it's just that they took out crouch tech so it's really bad to get knocked down so the game is less revolved around neutral which it should be.
