The ironic thing is that you'd probably learn all this stuff better by just playing the game...if you want to then take the game super seriously THEN you'd feel inclined to find the info out for yourself! ...Really this should be common sense but whatever! :/
@Kukzzzz
@Kukzzzz 7 жыл бұрын
Alienrun what? Common sense is to find everything yourself? So we should go back to the arcade era where everyone sucked and practically 80% of players Didnt know how to do special moves? People improve faster and get better Now because of information. Everyone learns differently.
@Alienrun
@Alienrun 7 жыл бұрын
Well I'm not saying you shouldn't look up info online like this...not at all. Its just that a beginner would understand the nuances with the game a lot quicker if they just picked it up and played it. (Let's ignore the fact that all of this info on this video in particular is bound to be well known if you taken any fighting game seriously before) I say this because I think its more natural that one would learn how to have fun with a fighting game before they dive into what's essentially jargon and what not...one should not restrict themselves on the basis of finding out what a game is based on a video...one should go out of thier way to figure to basics out as to give that person a *reason* and *motivation* to go further beyond! Then (and best then) would outside information be best applied to one's playstyle... In my case I would not have gotten into Smash had I not had the great priviledge of understanding its appeal. (ironically from a video) Now its almost as if I can't get enough of it! TL;DR This video in specific is generic tuturial stuff, it doesn't motivate one to learn or actually give the game a try. That I'd understand more...again when I said "you should play it first" I meant that in THAT MOST LITERAL WAY POSSIBLE! If this guide were more in-depth and comprehensive in the long run then I'd understand the OP's request...but as it stand...this is basic tutorial stuff that feels unnessesary to anyone who's played a fighting game seriously before AND probably just a tad too complicated for someone who's never played a fighting game in their life! I hope that makes sense now that I've explained myself more! :P

There is something like that in game. When you start there' a tutorial about the mechanics and on the trials there are "demonstrations" on general strategies and the characters.

I was thinking about buying the game but was put off by the many negative reviews but this tutorial actually convinces me that it would be worth it to pick up and play SFV even amidst the bad reviews and the conception of FGC being really horrible to noobs like myself. It really simplifies some of the more technical concepts and makes it a little more understandable. Thanks. Great Vid.

NEVER let a game review get in your way of buying a game. I've always found that ratings and such are unreliable considering that there are lots of games i love that are 7 or 8 out of 10 and yet most games that i've gotten that are 10/10 like Bioshock Infinite i got bored of about 1/5th of the way through. When you think on getting a game you should consider what the game is like, what you do in the game, and how you go about doing those things. Consider what makes the game interesting. Also, in regards to the FGC part of the comment, the only thing i don't really like about the fighting game community is that some of the old school players are real defensive about tutorialization in fighting games and usually say things along the lines of "Don't help new players because they should learn the hard way because we had to."

I mainly play competitive smash bros but I've always been interested in street fighter. I just never found the opportunity to view it in a beginner friendly manner, it was always at arcades where I'd put a few tokens in and mash buttons for a bit, but I didn't want to spend money to learn like that. This video is very helpful, the process of explaining the purpose of each button and the very basics helped me get a better picture of how footsies and spacing might be played out, something I understand from smash bros but not how it is employed in street fighter. I've been following this channel for years and always appreciated the quality put in each video and I'm glad I finally got around to viewing this

Awesome stuff. No planned upcoming Juri guide by him though? =^( He hasn't dropped her, has he? Would have loved to see a high level Juri for Evo making it near the top, but it's probably just a far fetched fantasy at this point. I thought Floe actually had potential when he picked her up if he actually trained with her seriously, but he's both not really in that mindset and is maining Karin anyway (Karin is my second favorite so I can't really complain- I love her combos and fighting style a shit-ton). Aiaitomo's the main one I can count on to play her, unless they do some weird patch stuff to Juri to the point where even Aiai doesn't want to play her anymore, haha. Can't see that happening though.

should I drop smash for this, I'm unsure so odd in comparison. Core a do you have any advice on switching between fighting games, or maybe you could make that a new video? Any response is appreciated

Waddlez it depends on what you enjoy more, try both and make your own decision. Or play both.

Play both man. The only reason you'd want to stick to one fighting game is if you're a pro that can't afford to divide their playing time. What's cool about not being a pro is that you can play lots of fighters without worrying.
