This was SHEAR genius on an organ... if you know music, you KNOW that this solo was something out of this world. He took you on an EMOTIONAL journey and then the broad, brave ending was something out of a movie! I wish he would have kept playing... in was in a nutha place!

@ISGLLC12 жыл бұрын
... When this video finished.... I sat quietly in a hotel room for about 4 minutes.... thinking... what just happened... I thought I heard the best in the world... but I think I just witnessed something beyond what I thought was capable on an organ. Class, style and substance all at maximum strength - WOW

Corey, you're ask asset to the body of Christ. Your gift inspires others dude and there is an anointing in and on you. Don't let critics change what God has giving you. When you sit and play, rather it be organ, keys, piano, with Snarky Puppy, or whoever, you speak. I don't view it as showing off but as a testament as to how God can use you. Keep killin Corey. I stand with you Bro. Jamie Best.

They key to Corey is he knows how to be musical with his playing and not just press things. He knows he can groove with regular chords and chop them up a lil. Plus he knows how to end a run and not do a marathon. This guy is a beast. Just natural talent. To me this is like old school because he uses the simple things to sound great while everyone else misses over them I even heard a little bit of r&b in this shed. Now this is motivation.

Best organ solo I've ever heard, and this is Corey 2 years ago. What makes it the best is that he's not even trying. He's joking around. The theory in this man's brain is ridiculous. He is revolutionizing the term "church organist". He is forcing others that hear him to restructure their approach to church music. He has no labeled style...the best we can call it is fusion. It's classical, jazz, opera, gospel and the list continues. Corey is a true musician and one of the greatest to ever play.

@significantnobody82312 жыл бұрын
To the commentator complaining abt the screaming...you are listening to it from speakers or a headset, and you are still in awe so much that the screaming is troubling you. So imagine being present while he's playing and you hear EVERY note being played. I HIGHLY doubt you would sit there and keep quiet.... And the BIG picture is he did this solo and he was just fooling around. Contemplate that

I enjoyed the music alot. Corey is off the chain. My point (which you clearly missed) was that some of these guys are just doing this because the people around them are getting hype. Most can't really understand the changes from majors to minor and the combos Cory throws in there. P.S. His name is Kevin Powell and he's a beast too.

The shock and awe comes from the fact that no musician would ever put the things that Corey puts, in the places that he puts em, on the spot like that! When they watched it on here, best believe they felt just like you do now...only better cuz they were there! Just enjoy the musiq!!!!!!!! PS. don't sleep on the guy who keeps hugging him! I recognize a few faces on there!

I wouldn't be so quick to assume that none of them "get it". They may not be at the point in their musicianship that they would think to place some of those changes in their own playing - assuming they are organists themselves - but that doesn't mean they can't appreciate what they are seeing and hearing. And even if they can't - everyone is at a different skill level, so I wouldn't be so judgemental about it. Let them absorb and be in the presence of a great musician just for greatness sake.
