Question. When I am practicing I am better at first. As my mouth dries I have a lot harder time getting a clean smooth sound. I continue drinking water but it does not help. What are some tactics to keep the calls from drying out so you continue to get a clean souund.?

+jrnavrkal Great question. I haven't had that issue or know anyone who has dealt with a dry mouth. You can try exterior reed type calls or not call as frequent and try to keep your mouth moist. Good luck, I hope this helps.

So in my experience I've learned that once I have a reed in my mouth for an extended amount of time, it looses its sound. I carry 2 or 3 and switch them out every 45 minutes or so letting the used ones dry out. I have a feeling this will help your problem.

Corey, have you thought of putting this in a DVD and book package? or is all if this in your Extreme Elk Magazine? If it is in your magazine, is it possible to back-order a copy?

Go to www.elk101.com Cory has put most of his effort there. He has a course as well.

Idk it seems to really tick a bull off with the chuckle sometimes and breaks the boundary for them to start moving to you… great info tho and my experience is extremely minimal compared to Jacobson’s. In fact, all I know about elk hunting is from watching Kori and Donnie 🤙🏼

Corey likes to use the “challenge” bugle. This is a great way to get the bulls to come in the last few yards. Check out Corey’s elk university, it’s totally worth it. Thanks for the comment. I’m excited to see DEV4. Out here in Utah the elk are pretty quiet, but things are about to get cranking. Good luck in the woods this fall.
