That's wonderful, and he was smart and more well informed than might be assumed. I always loved the line where he and Stan were playing dominoes, and Hilda referred to Omar Sharif as being a domino player, Eddie said something like "Bridge, Hilda, he played bridge". So funny

Excellent post. The best storyline Granada ever did was to place Eddie Yates as the lodger at the Ogdens.

I remember watching this with my grandad. I used to sit between his legs on the floor in front of “his chair” and he would tell me jokes, and sing songs, but wouldn’t tell me how they finished. I remember him telling me “you on the pot?” Meaning he wanted a cuppa. What happened? What happened to sitting with your grandad and being entertained by silly jokes and stupid rhymes? ❤

I remember once years ago going on a tour in Scotland which took in a couple of specialist whisky makers, i remember one was the company that produced the marvellous Glenmorangie whisky & we sampled different reserves etc & there was a special makers Reserve which was almost pale biscuit in colour. It was such a superb taste that we all bought a bottle at the special visitors price, although still very expensive but worth every drop The other whisky makers also did different types & blends some of which ranged from a deep gold to a mellow amber to a pale wheat colour & tastes from honey, heather, smokey or nutty rich I really enjoy a glass of whisky But only the good quality sipping whiskies, some of the Irish whiskey 's are also very unique in taste. Ive never drunk whisky to get drunk, its too much of a pleasure to savour a good whisky & sip over several hours. My favourite? Glenmorangie & Laphroig Cheers 🇬🇧👧

Rita became even more up herself after Len died, she was just lucky that he left her with plenty of money. I think thery were unfair about how they talked about Hilda togged up… The Oggys & Eddie threw a jolly good old Christmas party… Wonder how Mrs Walker wasn’t marked about loosing trade that night… And as for Dreary Deirdre moaning about no noise upstairs to the Oggys.. I’d of told dustbin loud glasses to shove it… it’s only 1 night a year… And the lad from Bird should’ve told his bird to jog on & poke it. He wasn’t gone 5 minutes and she was pulling another bloke… Also love Stan going on about feeding his belly all the time… Also the arrogance on that copper when Emily went to report Arnold for bigamy… he was a jumped up pen pushing droid….

Love watching the very believable professional gritty actors again. I don’t watch the later Corrie as it’s not the same and similar story lines go round and round looking for shock tactics

😂 What a pity Eddie wasn't around in 2020. Everyone convinced they were dying of the cold because tv broadcasted symptoms 24/7. I said back then, men in the seventies and eighties would never have bought it. Love these old Corries, when men were men and women were women.😊
