I've always felt Tracy's passing fancy for Doug was based more on spite than lust. She knew he was keen on her mother and so put herself between them to ruin things. I think Tracy was very much her Dad's daughter, and I don't mean Ken, I mean Ray Langton: he was a troublemaker and she had the tendency for maliciousness early on, too. Look how she turned out later!

I'm sorry to say it, but how does Jack put up with Vera. Never mind being married to her. She nothing but a nag, I feel so sorry for Jack always being put down by her and most of the time it's in public. When we see what she is like now, you wonder what Jack ever saw in her in the first place. I always thought there should have been like a special flashback episode about when they first met and got together. I real missed opportunity I feel from Granada Television 🤔

I started watching 1977 over the pandemic and made it here now. if I recall they said it were a shotgun wedding of sorts. Vera was already preggo, which maybe explains her loyalty to her one and only!

Guessing this is where they decided to REALLY flip Terry's character. The death of Lisa is a good way to explain why he became the heartless despicable character he did. If you think that's the same character who fought to be with Andrea Clayton and their child they had together and the despair he was in when she moved away to how he suddenly doesn't care about Tommy in the slightest 🤔🤷🏻‍♂️

Seeing Deirdre & Doug sitting together, Doug reminds me of an older Ray Langton type! Maybe at heart, Deirdre sees it too! I know Doug ( Brian Hibbert) isnt in Corrie long, as other comments have said, seems a shame as he was a likable character, the scriptwriters should have kept him on judging by the shitty actors they hired not long afterwards. I really liked Brians band The Flying Pickets! I loved their harmonising voices & rockabilly attire. At the moment, i think the storyline is dull & trying to be too political, with less humour Its doom & gloom from start to finish! Hmm wondering whether ive come to the end of the line with Corrie! As soon as those horrible Battersbys arrive, im off! Cheers ( i wish Corrie was) 🇬🇧👧

He meant 30mph which is the speed limit for most residential areas in GB, we have the same system over here except we drive on the left side of the road. Lisa was crouched down though wasn’t she? So that might have explained it, perhaps she just got unlucky.

I had a friend who walked out in front of a car. Car was doing less than 20mph. My friend was knocked off his feet and banged his head on the road. He died three days later from a brain hemorrhage. The driver was mortified... He had done nothing wrong.
