So true Ricky. What makes these retro-shows so brilliant is what people always loved about Corrie - the humour, the trivia, the mix of old and young characters, plenty of them annoying and unlikeable but so far only one total psychopath, Alan Bradley, who quite rightly got his comeuppance. I live in Australia and pay for Britbox which has a new 2022 Corrie episode every day. This old fan is happy to pay to watch the fabulous British shows that take years (if ever) to get to free-to-air TV in Oz, but even though I'm paying I can't be arsed to watch Corrie 2022. Love, love, love these old eps.

Watching Toxic Tanya again after all these years, I still cannot fathom whether she wanted to "steal" other women's men just for the point-scoring (a power-game to prove she could) or whether she just wanted to cause misery for the other ladies involved. Perhaps a bit of both. She really was a mean girl. Then again, Des was as fickle as a Cabbage White; a child-man who wanted every sweet in the shop, given the chance. I think Bet had Tanya sussed early on, but Raquel was too naive to see through her.

That's right, I saw an episode from the 70s' recently when the Kabin had a little cafe area in the back that was put out of business by Jim's cafe, which was next door, and Rita and Mavis were complaining about the construction noise before it opened. I'm not sure where the cafe is supposed to be now in relation to the rest of the street.

Personally, I am seriously over this life (I am 68 with no partner or money and multiple chronic health issues) but I can't get the right drugs to do the job properly. Tbh, I have to beg/lie to get Valium just so I can sleep for more than 4 hours a night (what is wrong with today's doctors that they are holier-than-thou about an old, cheap, effective mild tranquilliser that isn't strong enough for anyone to commit suicide?) or get on a bus without having a panic attack.

He’s apparently from Burnley which is about 25 miles north of Manchester in East Lancashire - I hear a bit of the Lancashire accent there, as opposed to many of the other Corrie accents which are from the other side of the border.. Yorkshire.
