Just how many more times can Gail moan and groan about how Nicky has not washed himself properly. The poor lad has spent the past 6 years of his life going back and forth up the stairs to the bathroom in the hope of passing Gail's inspection.

Thanks Eve. Yet again. Another great episode. The Carmel drama sorted. Felt for bout Martin and Gail. Grandad was spot on I remembered that someone came to fetch her. Vera has gone on a bit and repeated herself to a number of ppl. On the breadline is pretty bad and am pathetic to that. Poor Des, hounded by Jack and vera at times he feels guilty. Not his fault. And the final well that mad it harder for Des. Don't remember too much more. But looking forward to April 93. Thanks again Eve.

Vera is her own worse enemy. She gives up her job. Which leaves her depending on Jack's wages at the pub. Struggling to bring up Baby Tom on what they do have. Then she has the cheek to complain to Jack about the red letters she has and bills to pay. Again I ask you, why does Jack put up with her. She never listens, it's always her way or no way. Call That A Marriage. That's not my idea of one ☹️

I can appreciate that Percy's hostility towards Phyllis Pearce was meant to be amusing, at first. But by this stage it really is just horrible to watch. He is so obnoxious towards that poor woman, and considering he thinks himself so proper and gentlemanly, why couldn't he make the smallest effort to be pleasant and kindly towards her on her special day? He made it plain he was only accompanying her because to not do so would "disappoint" his ideal woman, Emily Bishop. Phyllis deserved so much better than his nonstop insults and rancour.

Why is it that, when two people start dating, they have to see each other every night? I never did that when I was single. But in CS it's as if they suddenly stop being separate individuals and surrender all their free time to the new interest. Maybe, if they didn't immediately fast track relationships, they wouldn't make so many mistakes (thinking of Dreary in particular).

The puzzling thing is, is that i wasnt a regular viewer of Angels Now im thinking, in fact im positive that the Black actress called Fiona who works in Denises hair salon, was in Angels I thought Carmel was also in Angels too but on reflection i think she may have been in a tv series called The Catholic Girls or something, about girls in a 1950s convent school. Hmm 😩, im already getting abit tired of watching these Corries now, Theres too much shouting & fighting, lies & malicious gossip Scheming & plots Its becoming unpleasant to watch & instead of splitting gut laughing, i hear myself sighing & feel depressed after watching! The horrible spoiled & obnoxious Victoria who buys friends by throwing money around is nauseating Tracy is becoming an evil toad Theres not one redeeming quality about her She & Vicky should team up & become the evil twins, set on bringing anyone decent, down. Sowing seeds of discontent & splitting up families & relationships I can take one bad egg in the street but two? No way, not of the vile characteristics of TracieLove & VicSnootyToria The moment Alec left was like pulling one of the sound, foundation blocks out of Corrie. The best of Corrie was with Elsie Hilda, Stan & Eddie Bett in the Rovers even before Alec, Len Fairclough was a huge loss His tempestuous affairs & esp with Rita were legendary ( the Alan Bradley carry on was one of the big faults on Corries writing team, it was appalling & tasteless) I love Reggie & Curley, at least you can laugh Thank God Kimber-leh has gone for good i hope. Don & Ivy were no starters Audrey & Alfeh are all wrong Kev is becoming a squeaky clean Mr goody two shoes & irate 24/7 Im coming to think Mave the Rave & Dozy Dekka are the only highlights & thats saying something! Even Mike has had more than enough egg on his face to make An omelette the size of China Hes becoming boring in fact The rest? Well theres only our Wonderful Bett, then Reet, Jack & Vee, Reg & Curly, & Raquel with her faux twee-ness & brill one liners Alma is ok, but ive always admired Amanda Barrie as an actor. Ken is an evil automaton Ahhh what a shame, the best of Corrie, for me, is 6ft under. They did have some good characters & good actors over the years but never developed them, they were flying high & thought they'd be always top dog in the tv soaps. They became too big for their boots & dropped some cracking Characters that could have carried the show much further Instead of pushing in riff raff families & persons Becoming " Woke" to ludicrous concepts, trends & political crap Its NOT entertaing nor instructional. Im thinking of pushing ahead 3 or 5 yrs to see what Tommy Rot is being shown Im probably going to be sadly disappointed if i do but don't want to continue with 1993 so may just watch a couple of months in 94, 95, etc up to 2000 Then END it there. I want to leave my best ever once favourite soap show, happy & nostalgic. Whatever, thank you to this channel for delivering the goods Your appreciated by many 🇬🇧👧

*THE FOLLOWING COMMENT CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR CORRIE 1992 - 1995* So, let me get this right. In 1992, Don tried to reconnect with his ex mistress Julie Dyehurst (can't spell it). She knocked him back, he attempted to kill himself in a car crash, survived but lost one of his legs. Julie visited him at the hospital, Ivy walked in and found out Don wanted to leave her. She confronted him, he then did leave her and moved out. So Ivy has a breakdown and becomes an alcoholic. Vera persuades Don to return to Ivy in October 1992 to stop her drinking herself to death. He does, but on the understanding that he'll sleep in the spare room and only be her lodger. Ivy, thinking he'll eventually love her again, is delighted (and in denial) So, this continues for most of 1993. In December 1993, Don has a one night stand with Bet and it turns out he was the one phone stalking Denise Osbourne, because she turned him down. Ivy is devastated to find out about Don stalking Denise and tells him that she's still his wife. Don leaves again and goes to his daughters house. Only his daughter says he isn't there, and Ivy, worried he'll attempt suicide again, phones the police. But in January 1994, Don turns up and says he wants them to be husband and wife again. Ivy, for some reason, agrees. Then, a few months later, Ivy leaves and stays in a religious retreat. She indicates to Gail that she intends to stay there for good. Don, meanwhile, moves in another girlfriend, Josie Clarke and eventually, in 1995, asks Ivy for a divorce. Ivy gets his letter at the retreat, is devastated and dies of a stroke a few days later. Right so, my questions are as follows. Why did Ivy put up with all this? I know she was against divorce but come on! He treated her terribly! My next question : Did Ivy ever find out about Bet? My final question : Apart from Julie, Bet, Denise and Josie, did Don sleep with (or attempt to sleep with) any other women during his marriage to Ivy?

Very good questions. I think where Ivy was concerned religious fanaticism has a lot to do with it. She was eaten up with religion, and I have the feeling she would have tolerated practically anything to keep her marriage from totally failing - it was failed anyway, but if she could keep Don under her roof that was sufficient for her, in terms of keeping her vows, and keeping up appearances. I think Ivy and Don treated each other terribly, in equal share. Her obsession with the Tilsley name, as well as her unbending religious view point, was what sent him over the edge - to into adultery - the begin with. I doubt Ivy ever knew about Don's brief fling with Bet and I don't think there were any other women apart from the ones you've already listed. The Brennan marriage was almost doomed from the start. Ivy couldn't let go of the Tilsley obsession and Don had no patience for her behaviour and rigid views. That's how I see it.

@@carasmith549 Oh I don't think Ivy is a good person at all - but that doesn't give Don the right to cheat on her and keep coming back to her when he doesn't love her. Just leave man! He didn't come back to her because he cared that she was drinking too much - He came back because Vera pressured him and he was a coward. So Ivy never knew about Bet? Imagine how she would have reacted!
