During the pandemic I lost... basically everything. I ended up homeless, fell into the deepest depression I've ever had, and had several mental breakdowns. I have been tumbling around from one end of the US to the other trying to get my life back together, and Corrections has been one of the few things that I could count on to put a genuine smile on my face. I was wondering what kind of board game would be funniest to send him too!
@AllWIllFall2Me Жыл бұрын
In the spirit of Matthew Perry's Chandler: "That's a lot of shade for board game hobbyists from a guy who talks about family trips with his brother for an hour every week. At least someone WINS a board game." And the provolone bit was great, reminds me of the Isaac Asimov story where a German spy is caught because he correctly identifies lyrics from the third verse of the Star-Spangled Banner, which only spies know, because no American ever sings past the first verse.

And of course the scene from Inglorious Bastards where an American posing as a German soldier is made because he uses the wrong hand gesture to signal three beers.

Lol I had forgotten all about that story. I only know the first verse, and up until very recently, thought it was “thru the perilous NIGHT.” But at least I was close (SEE: “Bad Lip-Reading Donald Trump National Anthem”).

You should do a Corrections in front of a studio of jackals. Thank you for your tribute to Matthew Perry. The quote that he hoped Friends would be listed far behind all the things he did to try to help other people has been going round. He must not have known how much Friends helped people. Millions of people going through hard times have found comfort in that show, and in Chandler's humour in particular. I wish he had known that.

Cold showers are useful for temporarily cooling one's body down, and can be a life-saver in cases of heat stroke or heat syncope, but are a bad idea for general coolness in hot weather. The quick, short-term shock is going to tell your body to stop producing sweat or any of its other internal methods of cooling, and will generally lead to your temperature being even hotter than before. Jimmy got jackal'd.

We had tortoises all through my childhood in our backyard, and a few times they walked straight into the swimming pool, usually in the morning. When I went out back to give them some lettuce or tomato to nibble on, I sometimes found one at the bottom of the pool. I dove in to fish it out and it'd go straight to eating like it was no big deal to hold its breath for however many hours it was down there. Please do not try this with your tortoise.

I had to go to an emergency dentist in Toronto early on a Sunday morning when I broke my two front teeth playing hockey. (Officially the most Canadian moment of my life) It was very much the kind of place where the mafia would watch A Closer Look.

Btw, in Erin, Ontario there is a hockey rink with some offices attached, including a dental clinic. That is officially the most Canadian place on earth. One can buy poutine at the concession stand and go over to the dentist's waiting room to get emergency treatment for a broken tooth.

R.I.P. Matthew Perry... He suffered for a long time silently, I am glad he decided to tell his story and try to help as many as he could before he passed... I think if anything an important thing to take from his story, is that suffering silently prolongs the suffering, and it will make it worse as it isolates you and makes you feel alone... Tell people about it, the ones who don't care, cut them from your lives and find better people, you will always be lonely around those kinds of people.
