@@hetzapark Of course they do. Most streaming sites (e.g. Netflix or AmazonVideo) are not available or have a meager selection of content in most countries. Cinemas only bring stupid comedies and cheesy action flicks. Most people will buy DVD/BluRays in local stores or online, zap TV channels until they find a watchable film (and then get angry at 5minutes of ads every 20minute of movie). Other people, those who are smart and have actually understood how malevolent the entertainment industry is, will visit a site, click on a magnet link and wait 10-60minutes for the film to download.

Yeah, that's the new era of apps, they hide under the "we just provide the app for people to use, we are not at fault", then rack the millions in revenue. In apps like FB, instagram, twitter is the copyright and taxation, which they escape through several loopholes. On others like Uber, Airbnb with physical things, beside the tax evasion, is the issue (with Uber like things) of people doing jobs without any kind of formal revenue that provides no security in case of accidents and such, it's basically they have no problem getting the money, but solving problems, nah, "that's your problem, we only provide the app".

@michosadventures7 жыл бұрын
It's because of facebook algorithm. If they just share it, the corridor page would get more and more reach. If they upload it as their own and just tag the corridor page, their page gets higher reach. It can be a good way for small content creators to have their work noticed and get the credit, I believe that is how Julius Dein got big. However, it is a huge problem if someone else is making money from your work, and you don't get the credit.
@Musiken7 жыл бұрын
I don't think it's because of Facebook's algorithm at all. The truth is people are greedy /subscribe/. They make a page, share the original links they like from all over the internet. Sounds good right? But they want to be paid for their sharing effort. Facebook gave them that possibility. So yes, greedy /leave a like/ are actively refusing to use the share button because they want money and Facebook doesn't give a /subscribe/ because they also get paid for it.

Totally agreed. But the guys are not thinking straight. They could profit off of this phenomenon. They should talk to all the pages that are asking them to re-upload on Facebook, and make a deal: Pages post only a small part of the video (like a trailer), and a title in the end says: Watch full version on KZbin, link in the caption, - with the link to Corridor's KZbin video. They could double or even triple the amount of subscribers they have...all sorts of people from all over the world. But no, they prefer complaining to Facebook and worrying about copyright infringement. To be honest, the re-uploads have brought a lot of people to this channel nonetheless. And if no one reuploaded them, those viewers would never find this channel. What the guys are doing is classic American capitalism...ignore every opportunity, just to be able to get revenge on shady practices. If you think about it, KZbin did the same thing during it's beginnings. They accepted any kind of video, and people uploaded movies, TV shows and all sorts of copyrighted material. KZbin exploited this to gain a following, and then cleaned everything up when it had become one of the most prominent websites worldwide. I know of a bunch of other companies that accept users and content, no matter their origin (location) or ownership, only to ban everyone and everything after gaining enough customers...

Yeah that'd help, but tbh I wish they'd just stop it. The joke gold old very fast and now it's just annoying cause it interrupts the flow of listening and makes me need to rewind to double check what was being said. They should just cut the audio or put in a bleep for swears
@AurelTristen7 жыл бұрын
Or an alternative would be to apply an audio filter to the censor words (like a radio/phone filter, or something) to set it apart. It's a small thing, but I agree it is easier to follow a conversation when those censored parts stand out just a tiny bit more. I'm sure it's a lot harder for non-native English speakers. Overall, I do like the concept. It keeps you guys getting ad revenue, while being snarky and pushing back a bit.

So am I ok just sharing this when I share it from the corridor digital Facebook page on Facebook for my friends to see? That might sound like a stupid question but I want to be sure.
@lilcheaty7 жыл бұрын
Yes you're fine. You're not ripping off Corridor and the views still go to them and they make money off the video when you share it. So DO share it!
@owenkennedy62717 жыл бұрын
Yeah I thought so but I was just making sure and clearing it up for other people as well. I know I wouldn’t be the only one wondering.
@georgebeswick75497 жыл бұрын
Owen Kennedy if your sharing on your personnal facebook page then yeh its fine. There just saying down rip the video from youtube and reupload it onto your facebook page.
@Antiganos7 жыл бұрын
Yep, that's actually really awesome of you. The problem is when people download, then upload somebody else's work and claim that they made it. What you're doing is sharing, AKA saying go look at what ---- made! Which is awesome for whoever ----- is.

i get 3 day bans on facebook all the time for doing vocal covers, but i only use portions of the song, and dip it substantially lower than the vocals covering it, i also always leave credit and never monetize them :(

Man I love this channel I've been a fan since the beginning of Corridor I started watching Freddie W and Brandon and they made some legendary videos and I'm pretty sure Sam and Niko were in one of those videos and now they're bigger legends than Freddie W now at least I think so. Brandon is the king and it's awesome you guys still hangout and play video games together. Please make more gaming videos with Brandon and D.

I feel like them scammers do not realize that using Nigeria as a scam location is a very old internet joke, and they are so disconnected that they keep using it because it still rakes in money.
@cermet18807 жыл бұрын
How would you handle this? There's a guy blatantly copying my video ideas. He literally remakes them shot to shot and copies (he does a shoddy job though) the title, tags and makes very similar thumbnails and manages to get on the suggested list of my videos and ends up getting tons of views. Can I report this for copyright infringement?
@MahlenMorris7 жыл бұрын
Not a lawyer, but ideas are not particularly protected. However, the _script_ of your film might fall under copyright protection. These people are lawyers: www.legalzoom.com/articles/how-to-copyright-a-script
@cermet18807 жыл бұрын
Mahlen Morris thanks! I'll take a look. The guy however makes some minor changes to the plot but anyone who saw it would say it's a shameless copy of our work.

re upload is as same as piracy online ..
@nyaaanjake7 жыл бұрын
Also, piracy doesn’t obscure the original creator of the content. Most torrent descriptions say who the OC is, where you can find it, and encourage you to purchase it when you can.
@joonashalpin85017 жыл бұрын
I think, that in piracy the viewer gets more blame than in freebooted videos on facebook
@Antiganos7 жыл бұрын
Piracy is usually somebody saying, "Here's Jurassic Park from Steven Spielberg for free", Re-uploading is more like saying "Here's Jurassic Park by me for free". AKA Maximum theft and true scumlord business. Piracy isn't necessarily good, but it's not purely awful like re uploading stuff is, because you're trying to take the credit for something you didn't make, as opposed to just illegally sharing something.
@thephilosopher71737 жыл бұрын
Honestly we just gotta have a society that really supports people they like. I pirate the shit out of video and movie content, but if I truly like it I find the DVD / BlueRay and purchase it. I have a collection and it keeps growing. SUPPORT THE CREATORS!!!!

Literal Bohemian Rhapsody Is one of my favourite short films of all time. Please keep making videos, although to make content you need income, which is hard when people keep trying to steal it away from you.

I am currently watching this happen multiple times right now on Facebook. One of these had a edited clip of your recent Bosstown Dynamics video. I and many other people have made the comment that these posters are failing to mention or credit Corridor Digital in any way. One of these posts has been shared over 40,000 times.

On "Think like a freak" Dubner and Levitt explain why scammers actually want to use those cliches. They want gullibe greedy people who never heard of the scams yet. That's so they don't loose time dealing with people able to see the con. Glad you made them loos some time, Niko. But don't expect a reply.
