People who upload music and write that disclaimer are not monetizing their videos. Take a look at mine; I have electronic tracks with thousands of views, and none of it is monetized. I have never received a strike or claim or removal request for them...

@@hetzapark Of course they do. Most streaming sites (e.g. Netflix or AmazonVideo) are not available or have a meager selection of content in most countries. Cinemas only bring stupid comedies and cheesy action flicks. Most people will buy DVD/BluRays in local stores or online, zap TV channels until they find a watchable film (and then get angry at 5minutes of ads every 20minute of movie). Other people, those who are smart and have actually understood how malevolent the entertainment industry is, will visit a site, click on a magnet link and wait 10-60minutes for the film to download.

@@Antiganos It's the opposite. They're exploiting Facebook and Corridor to get views and followers. The Corridor guys are stupid for not making a deal with them. Facebook is the worst when it comes to people re-uploading your content. I've seen peoples videos on there with millions of views while the person who actually made it only gets a few hundred thousand on their channel. Facebook needs to ban the user if they keep doing it.

Yeah, that's the new era of apps, they hide under the "we just provide the app for people to use, we are not at fault", then rack the millions in revenue. In apps like FB, instagram, twitter is the copyright and taxation, which they escape through several loopholes. On others like Uber, Airbnb with physical things, beside the tax evasion, is the issue (with Uber like things) of people doing jobs without any kind of formal revenue that provides no security in case of accidents and such, it's basically they have no problem getting the money, but solving problems, nah, "that's your problem, we only provide the app".

I saw it on the news in Mexico and wondered if the guys at Corridor knew about that, because they didn't even put their name or anything related to them on the screen, just their content, they did clarify it was CGI but never said or spelled the word Corridor and it drives me nuts to think that a national television channel decided to use content of internet creators without even crediting them.

It's like people actively refuse to exercise the share button/functions on original content and channels. Tut tut.
@michosadventures
@michosadventures 7 жыл бұрын
It's because of facebook algorithm. If they just share it, the corridor page would get more and more reach. If they upload it as their own and just tag the corridor page, their page gets higher reach. It can be a good way for small content creators to have their work noticed and get the credit, I believe that is how Julius Dein got big. However, it is a huge problem if someone else is making money from your work, and you don't get the credit.
@Musiken
@Musiken 7 жыл бұрын
I don't think it's because of Facebook's algorithm at all. The truth is people are greedy /subscribe/. They make a page, share the original links they like from all over the internet. Sounds good right? But they want to be paid for their sharing effort. Facebook gave them that possibility. So yes, greedy /leave a like/ are actively refusing to use the share button because they want money and Facebook doesn't give a /subscribe/ because they also get paid for it.

I with you Jake. I can't stand re-uploaders monetizing content like that. Re-uploading in general is pretty shady except arguably for content no longer available on the original channel and is no longer being monetized in some way by the original content producer and is not monetized by the re-uploader either. And that's still arguable.

(i wonder why.) that's when i found the video on the corridor channel and showed it to him, but later went home and watched a bunch more videos and also found the corridor crew channel. i love both channels now, and really look forward to the videos and vlogs you guys put out. in a strange twist of fate, it was a rogue internet thief that led me to you guys. but as glas as i am that it did, i'm also glad that you're on top of the copyright infringement issues that plague your creations. you all deserve every ounce of credit for the awesome content that so many of us love to watch for ourselves and share with others. thanks for everything you do, guys!

To be fair Ripping it from the internet is a combo of sharing / stealing. If you create something that's meant to be consumed initally off the internet, and it gets on there b4 you put it there, then someone basically stole it then shared it. On the other hand by the time it gets to you its really only been shared so its hard to say. I cleanse my soul by buying the shit I really like and enjoy (after having it 'shared' to me lol).

Totally agreed. But the guys are not thinking straight. They could profit off of this phenomenon. They should talk to all the pages that are asking them to re-upload on Facebook, and make a deal: Pages post only a small part of the video (like a trailer), and a title in the end says: Watch full version on KZbin, link in the caption, - with the link to Corridor's KZbin video. They could double or even triple the amount of subscribers they have...all sorts of people from all over the world. But no, they prefer complaining to Facebook and worrying about copyright infringement. To be honest, the re-uploads have brought a lot of people to this channel nonetheless. And if no one reuploaded them, those viewers would never find this channel. What the guys are doing is classic American capitalism...ignore every opportunity, just to be able to get revenge on shady practices. If you think about it, KZbin did the same thing during it's beginnings. They accepted any kind of video, and people uploaded movies, TV shows and all sorts of copyrighted material. KZbin exploited this to gain a following, and then cleaned everything up when it had become one of the most prominent websites worldwide. I know of a bunch of other companies that accept users and content, no matter their origin (location) or ownership, only to ban everyone and everything after gaining enough customers...

About the Custem Censor Sounds: as a non native english speaker it gets hard to understand some of the sentences because the sound over can get really confusing. Perhaps something visual as well would be easier to identify and dont interrupt the flow. Keep the awesome work guys! o/

Or just stop this bs completely. This stuff was invented by some americans for TV broadcasts and now your (meaning America in general) cultural imperialism forces this shit on lots of other countries. So stand up, fight for your rights before it's too late and stop this self-censoring.

Copyright should be taught in schools. So many people are just blatantly unaware of how it works and how they are stealing. Anyone who is a full-time creator or went to film school or something will understand it at least a little and it's like "how do they not understand this is stealing" but the general public is ABSOLUTELY CLUELESS. Even my girlfriend the other day was confused why I couldn't just use a song that I bought off iTunes in a video 😂

Some feedback for your custom censor sounds for swear words: It'd be good if you slapped a black bar over mouths when people swear to make it more clear that the word "Subscribe" spoken quickly is a censorship sound. It'd make more sense to people who are new to the channel. At least, _I_ think so, anyways
@TheChromaKid

Yeah that'd help, but tbh I wish they'd just stop it. The joke gold old very fast and now it's just annoying cause it interrupts the flow of listening and makes me need to rewind to double check what was being said. They should just cut the audio or put in a bleep for swears
@AurelTristen
@AurelTristen 7 жыл бұрын
Or an alternative would be to apply an audio filter to the censor words (like a radio/phone filter, or something) to set it apart. It's a small thing, but I agree it is easier to follow a conversation when those censored parts stand out just a tiny bit more. I'm sure it's a lot harder for non-native English speakers. Overall, I do like the concept. It keeps you guys getting ad revenue, while being snarky and pushing back a bit.

I know why the want to sensor them out, I'm specifically just talking about the joke of putting in their own stuff (i.e. subscribe) the bleep out swears instead of something more conventional.

I like the addition of the 180 line in the conversations with Jake and "mean internet guy" in this video. It kept me centered on "who" (be it Jake or Jake reading the crazy comment) was "speaking". However, I didn't like it as much when it was Niko at the end and it was a more obvious mirror flip of the image than a supposed shift in camera position. So.... I hate to say do the thing that takes more work, but do the thing that takes more work.

How would you handle this? There's a guy blatantly copying my video ideas. He literally remakes them shot to shot and copies (he does a shoddy job though) the title, tags and makes very similar thumbnails and manages to get on the suggested list of my videos and ends up getting tons of views. Can I report this for copyright infringement?

Piracy is usually somebody saying, "Here's Jurassic Park from Steven Spielberg for free", Re-uploading is more like saying "Here's Jurassic Park by me for free". AKA Maximum theft and true scumlord business. Piracy isn't necessarily good, but it's not purely awful like re uploading stuff is, because you're trying to take the credit for something you didn't make, as opposed to just illegally sharing something.

On "Think like a freak" Dubner and Levitt explain why scammers actually want to use those cliches. They want gullibe greedy people who never heard of the scams yet. That's so they don't loose time dealing with people able to see the con. Glad you made them loos some time, Niko. But don't expect a reply.
