I think for the Two-Face effect, the amount of which side of his face is being shown is telling a story as well. The more of it they show the more he’s actually becoming Two-Face because it starts on the left and as the scene and movie progresses it moves more to the other side of his face and once he embraces himself as Two-Face it shows his right side even more which would explain why they’re hiding it and not just to save money

Semi-good news. Can't fully confirm, but as of today the Channel is in the hands of a fan who wants to help Astartes (according to the about section). He even left an Instagram to contact him. The fan managed to wrestle the channel back from the guy that bribed Astartes, and take it away from the group that did the original hacking. Edit: Nope, this was the story of the hacker. But Astartes' channel has finally been restored after it was temporarily deleted, and it's back in his hands now.

Guys, when the marine's eye lens cracks during Astartes that's not blood boiling up underneath. It's his tri optics cameras moving. Astartes see through their helmets via 3d video capture and they can cycle through various vision modes with blinked commands. The insane thing is, they can do most of that even without the helmet Genetic engineering and cybernetics are fun 😁

It had a budget of around 30 million dollars. Sounds like a lot, but for a movie this reliant on visual effects, it's rather limited. The movie had A LOT of VFX shots, so it ended up being quantity over quality.
@SpearM3064
@SpearM3064 4 жыл бұрын
Rasmus has a very valid point. _Ultraviolet_ had a lot of VFX shots, and a budget of about $30 million. That'll buy you a lot of VFX, but not a lot of *good* VFX. That's probably part of the reason Milla has pretty much "disowned" the movie. One of the other movies in this episode, _Mortal Kombat 2,_ is a really good example. It also had a budget of $30 million. It didn't have nearly as many VFX shots, but you saw how badly it was panned by the Corridor Crew. To be fair, it also came out 9 years before _Ultraviolet,_ but there are still ways that they could have done better.

Underrated detail in Astartes that was missed was how when the Astartes are not moving they are completely still in their mechanical suits. Also when the one rebel gets stabbed around the corner, the Astartes doesn't budge off his feet at all like a normal-sized normal-weight person would (from the recoil), the rebel weighs nothing in mass vs the battle brother so its like a person hit by a train and it looks really well done
@involuntarytwitch9771
@involuntarytwitch9771 4 жыл бұрын
Even more underrate detail: The bullets bouncing off the force field of the psyker, the fact that the battle brothers actually have their names etched into their shoulder pauldrons, and in the newest episode (5) you can even see the Captain Astartes' cloak move in the wind from the bolter fire when the other marine shoots the Inquisition's psyker (or tech priest, idk what he is) and you can see the other Astartes being teleported onto the pillars in the distance at the very end. The amount of detail that was put into the Astartes series is just immense and so under appreciated

@janvalis4954
@janvalis4954 4 жыл бұрын
I have seen how they did that, I think it was on bonus material on dvds which are all on youtube and are like 5 hours long. Hobbits are real, the table scene was actually a perspective, frodo is not sitting in front of Gandalf, but few feet behind. BUT the table is made from multiple parts that mechanically slide with the camera on dolly, so when you move the camera, the parts match the angle and look like one part table. Hard to explain, look it up :) Other scenes are either children in costumes, puppets or big actors doubling normal actors.

That's actually a good example of where realism would have hurt the impact of the performance. If you think about it, Dent wouldn't be able to make M sounds (he can't close his lips when half of them are gone) and his speech would be slurred badly. But, all that would do is distract the actor from his performance and the audience from being able to appreciate it.
