Really good job!! Builded a Corsair 5000D with the Capellix xt. Two years ago I builded a system with the normal capellix. I recognized a lot of Ignorations from Corsair. Manuals? No! With screw mounted backplate? No! Cheap sticky backplate, the screw thing you mentioned with two different endings. I have to say, your content helped a lot and Corsair should think about his user policy! Confident building is something else… Thanks

*Amen....all the manufacturers are getting like that. These videos are the only thing that keeps PC builder's (that don't do it professionally, or on a regular basis) heads above water.* They don't include a manuals (or when they do include one it leaves you with more confused than prior to reading it). I picked up a Lian Li Dynamic EVO case, and it was one of the most nauseating experiences I've ever had. It took 3 weekends just trying to figure out the case configuration, and fitting it all together. And, when you do finally figure it out, you find yourself saying "they made that WAY more complicated than it needed to be". It's insane what these companies are doing to its customers these days. It used to be a blast to build PC's. Now, you're hearing more and more people hating it, for all the wrong reasons. Or, at best, simply not enjoying it like they used to.

I installed an H170i for my pc, and I believe everything is connected properly since it has worked before and I have since installed Windows 11, but the liquid cooling system is no longer working for me even though, once again, I have everything connected. I am also sure it has power since the RGB is working, and I know there's a problem both with BIOS stating that the pump isn't running and that the RGB only displays itself as a flashing red. I doubt the cooler is broken because I know that it does work, as I was able to get it to run correctly today once without any issues during the entirety of the time I had it running. Edit: I was able to get it working by swapping the Commander Core's USB slot to a different one. It could be that the original USB slot I used was faulty.

Sorry if I am wrong, but I heard you say the cooler pushes air out the top. However I think those fans are blowing air down, not up, so it is sucking cool air in from the outside, which is what the user guide recommends.

Great video! I have just installed my Capellix on an intel chip but found it better to orientate the CPU block by rotating it so that the pump valves are now positioned at the top of the motherboard and the cables come out on the side (where the IO ports of the MB are). The Rad is mounted to the top of the case. Every example image/video I've seen of this install has the pump valves positioned to the left or right of the CPU block. Even the instructions say mount and align the pump according to the diagram (In here, the pump valves are postioned next to the memory slots).I hope that makes sense but do you think this will affect the cooler's performance or life span in anyway?

Cheers!!!! Cool Video!! I Would like to as a question: Naturally You install the RGB fans on the inside so You can see the full effect of the lighting, but as they are they are sucking the warm air from inside the case and channelling it through the radiator, which should be receiving cool air. Shouldn't You reverse the mounting of the fans, and pull the outside air through the radiator? You would see the back fan structure, but the lighting effect would be there...

When mounting to the roof of the case is the radiator flush with the roof of it? My case can take two 120 or 140mm fans. But there's a recess on the backside where I have a handle. I'm going to get a 280 model and if it contacts where the case dips down I guess I'll have to mount standoffs.

Also I have one more Corsair 140 rgb fan I bought for the rear exhaust .. since the AIO controller will be full with the 3 radiator fans and 3 front case fans .. where should I plug in that last rgb exhaust fan so it lights up too? I had my PC built by a custom PC building company. My Corsair H150i Elite Capellix cooler was installed with the fans on top of the radiator facing towards the top of the case rather than being installed pointed down into the case. I am in the process of installing a new AIO (same type but slightly newer model) and I was wondering if I should make my new AIOs radiator fans facing down towards the case rather than having them on top of the radiator facing up. Nearly every PC that I see with an AIO cooler has the fans facing down rather than facing up like mine currently is. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

current Amd Ryzen 7800x3d / msi Mag tomahawk b650 builders (jan 2024) ... if ur h150i Capellix didn't come with mount for the "hook" style mobo brackets, use the amd/amd4 side mounts in the kit, take off the "hook" mounts ur board came with, those screws are tricky, u might just need the regular ones, or u may need the Fat/Skinny ones like he said in the video... for Tomahawk b650 i just needed the Regular ones, and then the four small Thumb Screws go right in.... PRO TIP ... Do this outside of the Case first. Motherboard + cpu + aio Coolers + GPU .... ( i put my MoBo ontop of its' Case, and used some books + case to help with supporting the GPU. Plug all the connections into Mobo and Gpu to Monitor to see if it boots up ! , then put everything in case!!!!!! will be an extra 30 minutes of time but worth it. This is my first time building , i spent 1 night watching videos on how to build / my specific parts and Case, the 2nd day i really read over the Motherboard manual ( which really helps with the Connections , it's really not too many connections !!!! . Expect this to take 2-3, 5 days , go slow... U will most likely get a part or 2 wrong and have to order adapters ... Do it this way will save u time in the future by avoiding mistakes, and learning about the process!

Good morning Provoked Prawn. I have a question regarding the newer version of this, the Elite 150 which I've had running for a while. I decided to introduce a second commander core XT to my system for easier RGB and fan control but since doing this, my pc fans now all run at 100% from start up with a hard reset due to overtemp on the CPU. Would this suggest the pump has failed? I only get around 45 seconds before the system shuts down automatically. To be honest, I'm reluctant to switch it back on! I have 13 Corsair AF120/140 fans all except the rear exhaust are connected to the commander cores of which I have two. I'm guessing I'll have to strip everything back and recheck terminations/connections. Scary when the pc you've just spent nearly £5k on does this....:(
@TheProvokedPrawn
@TheProvokedPrawn Жыл бұрын
Hi Mike. It's really hard to troubleshoot remotely. Is it possible that you have accidentally disconnected the pump from the Commander Core or that connection is lose (the big fat cable) or that the tiny pump cable that connects from the pump to the AIO header or CPU fan header on the motherboard is disconnected or that the pump is loose? Check this kzbin.info/www/bejne/pIfOf2uanqd8d6c

@@TheProvokedPrawn Hi bud. Thanks for replying. I had the original commander that came with the AIO and all worked fine. The remaining fans were sent to a Corsair RGB header with the pwm cables going to the chassis fan headers (with a few added via splitters). All was running perfect with long sessions on 3D Mark and CPU stress tests all perfect. All I have done is add another core XT and removed the RGB header and put all remaining pwm's into that. The pc doesn't seem to be registering and fans at all being present. I'm going to strip it down and try to fault find. If I figure out where I've gone wrong I'll post back so you can do a video on what NOT to do! :D Have a great day bud....... Mike.

@@TheProvokedPrawn Hi bud. Ok, so after checking everything, it would seem that I either forgot to attach the data cable from the pump head to the commander so it was never going to see the commander. The pump never ran so the CPU went straight to max temp then auto protect kicked in to save it. I just hope that I haven't caused any lasting damage to my cpu! :( Corsair have just released version 5 of Icue which I've downloaded so I'll set that up and run some long duration CPU testing. I just ordered the H170i. I'm installing it in a Corsair Obsidian 1000D Super-Tower case. So there should be plenty of room for 6 fans on top. I'm not a huge fan of water cooling. Spring a leak and that would be $6,000 worth of hardware down the drain!

Theres a wider cable on the controller for the corsair, but I dont see any port on my motherboard that it could possibly fit into. In the video, I saw that it connected to something in the top left corner on your motherboard but I couldnt really see what. Any ideas? Im using a B550 Carbon motherboard.

You've done it wrong. I thought I showed that in the video. The stand off screws are ever so slightly fatter on one side. That's the side you screw into the motherboard. If you do it the other way they won't fit properly.

Currently going for either a 13900k or 7950x3D soon… was in between the h150i elite lcd / Z73 Kraken / EK Nucleus / Deepcool LT720. Pretty sure you’ve covered all of these except EK. I’m kinda leaning towards Corsair and NZXT for manufacturer brand. Any thoughts? Thanks

I need to get some EK things. Been meaning to talk to them. You cannot go wrong with Corsair or NZXT coolers imo. I personally love the Z73 in my system but if you like Corsair then these latest ones are superb.
@HitemAriania

I had an issue with EK -except for the coiling sound, the software was basicly not supported anymore (very little development) and you did not have much controll over what temprature you want the cooler to go off. I instead chosed corsair just beacuse of this reason, i want the fans to go of the coolant temprature instead of cpu spikes. The EK went from 0-100% fanspeeds and down again very often (noisy). Im supersensitive to sound and only corsair lives up to that standard currently (After all ive tested). Hope it helps.

In Corsair documentation for the H170i it says "Connect pump tach cable to the CPU_FAN header on your motherboard (Figure 2)." - howcome you chose AIO_Pump instead, is it only because of the bios "extra steps" corsair chosed CPU_FAN ? @@Zen0Kaiby0Sp1rit CPU fan is still usefull for its integrated PWM, usually you link your fan hub to it, this way all fans of your case can scale their speed with CPU temp.

When I was building my PC last december I thought about using a corsair AIO like this one but it would have been the only corsair product in my case and I would have needed to use Icue just for the AIO. Someone pointed me in the direction of the Deep Cool LS Series which offered me the same things I wanted out of the Corsair (Square head, Customizable cover etc without a need for Icue. and at less price. I can see using this type of cooler if you have lots of corsair products in your system and are going to use Icue for lots of things but I didn't think it was worth it just for one item.
