In my mind, this is what low tier villains have to be capable of, both physically and mentally, in order to even be a threat to most of the heroes. This is for Marvel and DC villains. Heck, tons of Batman and Spiderman villains aren't impressive when you just hear their backstory and powers, but when you see how they work with other villains or what happens when they have a grudge against anyone other than the hero, they really get down to business.

This caused so much controversy over the next 15 years that the Nolan version said they would make sure not to do that. And in just Batman Begins, Bruce blows up the League of Shadows where we see several stunt people flying around in the explosions and the fake Ra's dies. Then he lets the real Ra's die at the movie's climax after Gordon (following Batman's plan) took out the tracks of the elevated train they were on. The ridiculous part is that BOTH TIMES they explicitly invoked Batman's no-kill rule in the movie seconds before he killed people.

I came down here to say exactly that. For me, the predictability means that I can reduce my attention on the noise, since that's a normal brain function. Novelty and unpredictability attract focus. Loud music may be louder than street sounds, but if you know it then it's not so bad. For other people it can be the specific comfort of familiarity rather than being able to ignore it, but it's still using known, predictable sounds to drown out random noises.

Poor Jennifer Garner. They miscast her in so many of her early roles, trying to make her this stoic badass action heroine. 13 Going On 30 was a good course correction, showing how better suited she was to comedy. I've never seen this movie but I knew "Bring Me To Life" by Evanescence was in it; I just didn't know where in the movie it was played at. Yeah that was one of the few points that didn't make a lot of sense to me. I find most Hero/Normie Relationships painfully boring because they all play out the same beats usually (Superman/Lois being pretty much the only exception). Hero/Hero is way more fun and if we're being honest, is probably better for the heroes because they have someone who can actually relate to them.

@@jwm1444 Well I don't think he was saying they're always done well, but he just enjoys seeing heroes trying to pull off the hero/regular dynamic The problem is the normal love interests aren't usually written very well. Even in like Raimi's Spiderman movies MJ isn't written very well. I actually think Supernatural had an interesting history with that same basic story premise; Dean wanted a normal life *so bad* and that's his driving force for the first arc, then we find out that he's kind of terrible at it and monsters will mess with him anyway He tries a few more times and it always fails and then he tries being domestic with Sam and it still doesn't work and (spoilers) When he finally dies heaven for him is not a home, not a picket fence It's his car, his brother, his friends, and the open road; he always had those things, and it wasn't until 15 seasons in he actually understood and appreciated it

It's so much more than the fact that they put an Evanescence song in this movie. This was the band's big debut! They were unknown when this song was put on the Daredevil soundtrack, and it wasn't even the first single off of it, it was like the third or 4th. The label was totally taken by surprise. Ok, so before Daredevil the studio had signed them but were hesitant to push an album because they thought Amy Lee needed a male vocalist alongside her, they didn't think people would buy the band with just her vocals. She balked and the band almost split up before they even got started. Well shortly the label called and said they wanted one of their songs (yes that song) for this hot new movie coming up. They just needed them to change it one little bit. Add a male vocalist. For whatever reason Lee caved this time, maybe she just really thought Daredevil would be a hit, and let a dude sing the song with her. But only for the Daredevil soundtrack. The original version of that song has none of that "rapping" in it, and none of the call and response parts. Anyways, that band was unarguably the biggest and longest lasting thing to come out of Daredevil. No Daredevil, no Evanescence. Initially they were not too happy that this song was their big break because they were worried that people would expect some guy rapping poorly and duetting in every one of their songs, but obviously that fear turned out to be unfounded. I'm not even really a fan of that band, I just got done watching a video about this and thought people might find it interesting.

Yep I remember back then I *did* know of Evanescence already but I heard about them through friends that had found out about them from word of mouth (which was much more a thing back then than now), so I was super enthused they were on this soundtrack... Which brings me to the next point I think the channel guy is misunderstanding here when, for some reason, he thinks it's humorous they used such songs? Perhaps he's a younger dude or something but back in the 90s and 00s movie soundtracks were a really big thing. It was honestly a good part of the general "music scene" in those days. I remember buying so many different soundtracks for the music on them, sometimes not even having seen the movie! Liking many of the artists on there band finding new ones in the mix of songs there would be on them. However by the time the mid to late 00s came around, soundtracks were much less of a thing in terms of promoting and featuring music (both popular and "underground" or lesser known). Sure nowadays there's still popular music/songs used in lots of movies but it's not exactly the same. Name a popular movie from the 90s and one can probably identify the major songs that were in it...because you might well have had the soundtrack. Name a movie in the past 10-15 years or so and...probably couldn't name any songs in them at all, unless watching it at the time and hearing the song(s).
