As polish Catholic we celebrate All Saints and All Souls Day. We go to church and cemeteries, leave flowers and light candles on graves of loved ones. Like watching your family and your cooking Best wishes from Polska 🇵🇱

I aslo follow Catholic morning prayers and do my Rosary. It's a my peaceful good way to start of my day. Also, Jennifer, I find that people who choose to become catholic, because of choosing to learn the faith, make best Catholics. I know a few people that converted and it's beautiful to see how rich they are living their faith. Some, put born into the catholic faith to shame. God bless you and your family always.

Jen, you have become quite the Accomplised YT Editor! Loved everything about this video.❤ The religious functions that you attend bring back great memories. For a few yrs I was the only Protestant teacher at a Catholic k-12 School. I was the Computer Teacher but learned much more than I taught. I respect and enjoyed the traditions of Catholicism. My first Ash Wednesday was a hoot!!

Thank you Deb! I really do love the editing process; it's a fun creative outlet. I grew up Protestant, but had a ton of Catholic friends and remember going to Mass with them at sleepovers and really enjoying it.

Hi Jennifer and sweet family! The kids looked great in their costumes. Your banana bread I bet was delicious. Yum, focaccia bread, it’s so good with sun dried tomatoes on it and used as sandwich bread. Now your lasagna is making me want some. I think I have one in my freezer and some garlic knots that I can have this week. I do enjoy the fellowship and sharing food at church with my sisters and brothers in Christ. Sometimes we cook a spaghetti supper for everyone with salad and garlic bread. I hope everyone has a very blessed week!

Did you teach your kids all about taxes? (I think the Halloween candy tax is 10%, payable to Mom and Dad.)

Oh yes, even their older siblings stop over and tell them they have to pay their sibling tax. It's quite a thing around here.

I'm so glad to see parents to still take their children trick-or-treating... I'm 53, and we absolutely loved it, and my brother, and I would come home, and do exactly as your kids...Pour it out, and see what all we got! TFS, and bringing back the fun memories Jennifer...🤗👍❤️

Oh yes, such good memories. I remember playing trick or treat with my cousins after coming home and sorting out the candy we didn't like. We'd go in a bedroom and wait for a knock and then hand out the candy to each other. It was a blast.

I did not have any kids trick or treating. Around here, they all go either a party or " trunk or treating " ...but I miss having the kids come to the house. You can spray your rag with window cleaner then ashes and rub on the glass and it will clean it...takes a bit of elbow grease but works well. That's what I do!

Amazingly, our kids were able to wear short sleeved shirts on Halloween in sunny, 75° weather for the first time in what seems like forever!! Usually, there is at least rain, but more often than not, it's sleet and/or snow. Their costumes are covered by coats, scarves, hats, and gloves. I'm wishing that our parish did something festive for All Saints day. The potluck looked wonderful! St. Juan Diego, Mother Mary, and St. Francis of Assisi?

@acountrylife2 күн бұрын
If you plan on cooking with them they can be frozen now. If you keep them chilled and there aren’t an soft berries then they will be ok until Thanksgiving.

Aw, this brings back memories of when my daughter enjoyed dressing up for our military parish's Harvest Party at around age 6 or 7. She'd seen a live production of 'The Sound of Music' and her costume choice was a nun (duh!); she was the hit of the party, lol. It was super cold that year for trick or treating but at least not as bad as the year before when it was below zero with winds! Tell Joe that those conditions are really bad for Trick or Treating! LOL...military family housing had great candy opportunities back then and she knew not to miss out! We have many photos to remember those holidays. Sadly, she left the True Catholic Faith but thankfully is still a Christian wife and mom and I'm proud of her (but still praying for her to return to the True Church). With so many demonic incursions into our society I don't bemoan that my grandkids don't 'trick or treat'. They get to dress in costumes for their private school and church Harvest Parties. I'm sad their religious upbringing does not explain the struggles, sacrifices and victories of past saints but at least their education is biblically-based and 'classical'. I've been yearly stunned by the grandkid's 'classical' Christian school programs. They showcase amazing memorization of facts, poems, literature and Bible verses. There are far too many bad influences on our young folks and if it means having to sacrifice a bit of what we remember of our prior traditions, so be it. I carefully work in good theology where I can with the grands but, unfortunately, I'm no CCD teacher and in fact didn't even have a proper, full Catholic upbringing myself, being a product of a half-Catholic/half-pseudo Methodist home. That is probably why my daughter and son both fell prey to forces that took then away from the True Faith. That will forever be a failing I'll repent for and beg forgiveness.
