@@vrettiaggarwal8720 eggwhite is the leavening agent in this recipe. Baking soda/baking powder are not needed. Lemon juice might be a substitute for cream of tar tar.(I have never tried that.) Please stick to the recipe. It is a very good recipe.

I’ve been testing different sponge cake recipes and by far this one has had the best texture, rise, and appearance. It’s the typical spongy, airy, light, lightly sweetened sponge cake you’d get from a bakery. My only tip, add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract or almond extract and some lemon or orange zest to add more flavor. I think any flavor extract would work depending on what flavor you’re going for. Just made this and wanted to say it was AMAZING and everyone loved it!! So pleased with how it turned out. This is totally an asian style cake.. light and fluffy and just the right amount of sweetness! I want to share that I actually 2/5 the recipe (very easy when you're weighing everything) and baked the cake in a sheet pan (for 2/5's the time) so I had one big thin layer that I cut in half to stack and make a 2 layered rectangular cake. I cant say enough good things about this recipe. Thank you!

I made your sponge today and it is spectacular! It’s exactly the light and fluffy texture I have been searching for. I made 1.5x the recipe for an 8”, 4 layer cake. I added a teaspoon of baking powder for insurance in case the cake didn’t rise, and it turned out beautifully. I also increased my oven temp to 325F because it was taking a bit longer to cook. Just tried it This is really one amazing sponge cake rich and soft I have substituted 2&1\2 tablespoons of flour with cornstarch and added like 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder I divided the batter on three pans to reduce baking time and to avoid cutting layers I baked them at 180 Celsius for 15 minutes or so I substituted peach juice with some sweetened milk For the cream i've used powdered cream The cake Turned out tasty and soft Thanks for the perfect recipe 😋

I just made this cake today and it came out beautiful and really light like bakery cakes and I really loved the sponge 👌🏻 my only change next time would be to add more sugar to the frosting or maybe some strawberry jam in the filling, but overall great cake worth making 👍🏻👍🏻

Do you leave it in the oven before you feed it? because it is twice that I do it but as soon as I turn off the oven and the shot comes out it lowers everything and looks raw (1 hour of oven)

Dear All Gracious People, please refer to my description box for full recipe. Q: What is cake flour? It's a low protein refined flour for cotton soft texture cake outcome. You can get it from any supermarkets at the baking section or baking shops. All purpose flour is an alternative but I don't think it can reach this texture. Maybe in my next video I shall show you how to make cake flour at home. It's not difficult at all

@Ken Wong i made my own "cake flour" with normal all purpose flour. so you take - 1 cup of all purpose flour, -remove 2 tablespoons, and then -replace the 2 tablespoon with 2 tablespoons of Cornstarch -Most importantly is to SIEVE this mixture at least SIX times. Its really easy and i guarantee you it is worth the time! :)

I made this cake yesterday and it turned out AMAZING!!! The sponge was soooo fluffy and light. I didn’t have cake four. Instead I used one cup of regular flour, removed 2tbs from it and replaced it with 2tbs corn flour. Sifted 5-6 times and used this for my cake batter. I also used 1/2 tsp of lemon juice instead of cream of tartar. Because I don’t like it too much sweet, I reduced about 20g of sugar from the cake batter and I loved the amount of sweetness I ended up having. But for those who like sweets I wouldn’t make any changes. However this recipe is to die for! Really amazed by the results. Thank you very much for sharing this!

@@ainyjafri1389 hi Ainy, first make sure your egg white is a good one. for yolk egg batter no need extra power to mixed and must follow step by step the ingredient when mixed. for the white egg u must ensure this batter are rise. After that u mixed both of batter and must ensure the batter are blended.

i made this for fun and it was DELICIOUS. i made orange "jam" instead of all the other fruit and put it between layers. the sponge is so soft and light and nothing was too sweet. i'm obsessed to making cakes again now, thank you for the recipe!
