Son also loves scoring against Dortmund - there's a catalogue of sick goals he scored against just Dortmund for Spurs plus he scored a fair few in the Bundesliga vs them too! This spurs squad cannot be underestimated, there current positions in both the league and champions league under some unfavourable circumstances speaks volumes for their mentality. They have developed a maturity which is showing this season, these spurs players have been through a lot of big games in the last few years, both for their club and in the world cup, they have a lot of experience built up. They are possibly lacking that little bit of extra quality to get them over the line, but they are definitely not 'spursy'. I do think that some investment in full-backs and central midfield is needed. Vertonghen was unreal against dortmund, he showed the value of a good full-back performance, a full-back who can both defend and damage the opposition

Verthongen a world class player on the left, who got done over by Sancho once or twice but doesnt take away from his quality as an overall player. Harry Winks for Dier, where Harry Winks is a quality little pass master. Dortmund had Götze upfront who did everything but be a number 9, and Dahoud instead of reus who went quiet the whole game. My point is that Spurs have, despite not spending a penny, far more squad depth than Dortmund and much more quality when replacing players. Having Son, Lucas Moura and Eriksen as your front line isnt exactly terrible is it.

So thats fine, thats how the football cultures differ, but the narrative that the german league is just a farmers league is a bit unfair, because Dortmund on their day and spurs on their day would probably see dortmund draw away from home. But thats how its always going to be that english clubs have more financial power to compensate injuries during the important phase. But the narrative that the german league is just mediocre is wrong, I see the german league well in third.
