Wow! I didn't expect you to respond so quickly. The video was very intense. I didn't know until the end whether you would succeed. I hope there will be more videos on the F-16 in Ukraine. Now the most relevant missions for us are: 1) shooting down cruise missiles and Shahed drones at night 2) hunting air defense with AGM-88 HARMs (Soviet aircraft did not reveal their potential). Does it make sense to use ADM-160 MALD for this mission? 3) And the main problem is the Su-34 with glide bombs. According to Ukrainian and not only aviation experts, the F-16 will not be able to do anything with them because Su-34s fly at an altitude of 12,000 meters and drop bombs at a distance of 40-70 km from the front. Maybe you want to check it out in the game? Perhaps the Swedish AWACs can help somehow (there is an E-2 Hawkeye in the game)?

3) The Su34 are escorted by a MIG 31 or a Su-35 that has an R-37M and a HARM. There is no way Ukraine can fly close enough to the Russian border avoid complete detection and get into range for an Aim120 shot. Ukraine to use the F-16 like this would be reckless and wasteful. Shooting down cruise missiles and drones is the best use for these aircraft while they are on the defensive. The UA pilots also have no experience with the F-16 in a combat environment, these are not USAF veterans they have had an intense 18 month - 2 years training

@@grimreapers I watched these videos. They are unrealistic. 1) Shahed drones and cruise missiles are shot down at night. 2) In your video, were the Su-34s at an altitude of 12,000 meters at a distance of 40-70 km from the front? Was there any Su-35 cover there? It is impossible to fly over the occupied territory. There are too many air defense systems. All experts say it's impossible. That's why I'm asking you to conduct the closest possible experiment: is it possible? What kind of missiles and electronic warfare are needed? Perhaps a Swedish AWACS could help? Maybe you can prove them wrong and with the right equipment it is possible? P.S. There is a possibility that a few F-16s have been modernized with a powerful radar similar to Block 72, but this is a rumor. I think this is an interesting challenge for you to prove to all the experts that it is possible. Maybe you and your community will invent some interesting tactics.

All the new airfields are crammed with equipment and new hangars, the runway lighting is more real looking now than ever. Anyways, had to get that off my chest. Also, when you looked at the new Super Carrier last update someone off handedly mentioned going down the Suez Canal. I did it. It was more fun than I expected. You cannot just pick a heading and leave it. The wind will slowly blow you off course and you must always correct. And passing traffic I added just for the hell of it is really challenging not to hit. Anyways, couple new ideas. I know you read these comments and look for new content. Cheers.

I wonder if said Ukrainian pilot was flying extremely low, if that was the case then he would have potentially been able to see the Russian plane without it detecting him, harder to do from 20,000 feet, under those circumstances, especially if the Russian wasn't looking for him, the Ukrainian pilot may have theoretically been able to pop up briefly, lock the Mig, fire his missile (said theoretical AMRAAM) and race back down again while taking evasive action against the likely inevitable russian SAM with his name on it. Depending on the scenario I could see that happening, however it would be risky, and high command might not be happy with their precious F- 16s being used that way, none the less, it is technically possible under certain conditions for an AMRAAM to do that, however unlikely.
@rebelliousfew4 ай бұрын
I find it impossible quite frankly, especially in such flat terrain like Southern Ukraine. MiG-31BM’s have extremely powerful radars and have top-down capabilities, so it would take a miracle for a low-flying F-16 to not be detected, and this isn’t taking into account any ground-based radar systems or SAM systems, too.

Simple answer no. Not because one system is better than the other,, but it take years for a F16 pilot to gain the skill needed to operate it to its full potential. The Ukrainian pilots are F16 rookies, (although the rumour mill is saying that the pilots are actually ex US air force pilots), and the Russian pilots have years of experience, and have actual war experience in Syria and other places. In the real world those F16s in Ukraine probably have a lifetime of a few sorties if operating on the front line, which is why they have been relegated to shooting down drones and cruise missiles well behind the front lines.

Still better than what Russian air forces using. All they have to do is pull older systems out of F16 and plug new one in from block 70. USA learns all it needs from failures; while expending some extra ammo sitting in storage. Moving this stuff creates jobs also. It’s a win win for NATO and stock market. And if we don’t win necessarily; it’s not our men, and Russia uses a lot of its own stockpiles. Then we know the strengths and weaknesses of Russia. Or just attack when they are weak. I see nato preparing for war against Russia; and possibly China at same time. China a naval battle in South China Sea, Russia; is Army and ground forces. Ideally I think the mig 29s would make for better bait because as f16s come online in larger numbers. Loosing a mig 29 won’t be that bad I’m more worried about mig 29 pilots than I am their older jets that if it survives the war would probably be retired less than a decade after the war is over. Su25s are pure ground attack aircraft so you wouldn’t wanna use those as bait of any kind. Su24s provide a air launched cruise missile capability. And the su27s I believe could contribute to Ukraines fighter fleet if it’s working alongside more capable western fighters. Of course this is all my opinion I’m open to feedback

No, they don’t have the same radar. Not close in fact. Also- the US would never give Ukraine, a non-NATO member, any hardware relating to the Block 70. @@rebelliousfew Here are the comparison to F-35 and the Block 70 F-16 radars.. The F-35's AN/APG-81 radar and the Block 70 F-16's AN/APG-83 Scalable Agile Beam Radar (SABR) are both active electronically scanned array (AESA) fire control radars. However, the F-35's radar is considered the most capable in the world. Here's how they compare: Targeting The F-35's radar has multiple target track-while-scan capability at ranges beyond 80 nautical miles (150 km). The Block 70's radar offers improved all-weather targeting and provides detailed target area information. Modes The F-35's radar has passive and active air-to-air and air-to-ground modes, plus synthetic aperture radar (SAR) capability. Stealth The F-35's radar antenna is tilted backward for stealth. The Block 70's avionics include enhanced stealth capabilities. Resistance to jamming The Block 70's radar offers low probability of intercept (LPI) operation and improved resistance to enemy jamming. Origin The F-35's radar was designed by Northrop Grumman Electronic Systems, while the Block 70's radar was developed by Northrop Grumman. Commonality The Block 70's radar shares hardware and software with the F-22 and F-35 AESA radars, giving it 5th Generation fighter radar capabilities.

However, there was some concern that in situations which an high internal/external pressure differential (high altitude, high negative Gs), there is a fractional chance that my left cornea could become detached. Besides that, though I was incredibly fit, I have a long, lanky, swimmer-type physique (183 cm; 73kg, 0% body fat, in my prime), which is not ideal for a fighter pilot.
