She literally got another job at the end of the video. This show was only supposed to take place for 1 month, with a follow up after 6 weeks. It’s totally OK to drop a job that you don’t like and find another one within a month and a half. Calm down.

I was constantly stressed trying to keep our heads above water, doing 100% of house and kids, and being breadwinner. Now almost 15yrs later ex hasnt worked in 5yrs and been sponging off his parents the entire time. His first year of unemployment he spent 500/mth on video games and not a penny of his 500/mth child support. Ive worked my butt off to triple/quadruple my income, saved and scrimped and have large nest egg, 2 paid off cars, and tons of money in reno and legal fees dealing with ex (about 80k each) and still have only 21k left on my mortgage. I wasnt about to let anyone cause me to drown financially and it was all i could think about for a decade was saving every penny to make sure i could take care of my kiddos. He asked Smokey Robinson for a $5000.00 and he was refused. I work for myself and rely on no one. When I bought my humble condo, I was "approved" for a pretty penny. Rather than look for homes in the "pretty penny" price range, I was determined to go LOW (just in case a client didn't pay, a family member got ill, etc). Got a great 30 year loan and paid it off 7 years a head of time by paying weekly on the principal. It would have been paid off sooner but, the bank wanted to charge me a ridiculous fee (over 1K) for "set-up". I don't purchase ANYTHING with credit and the hardest word for me to incorporate into my vocabulary was: No! Meanwhile ... all of my friends are up to their eyeballs in debt and they can't even retire. IMO, people have been watching way too many reality TV shows in addition to trying to "keep up" with the Jones'. Less is best and I feel bad for the younger generation ...

They’re white. Not even being prejudice but it’s true. Hubby and I are interracial married couple. I’m brown and he’s white. I have a 712 credit score, always been higher than him. When we started searching for a home back in 2015, I didn’t select my race on the application. Cool.. but when they needed identification, things changed. Suddenly I needed to pay my new car off my completely, only had it then at 5 months and pay only 375 monthly. That’s our only debt. Our DTI IS UNDER 28 percent, we make at least 102,999 together annually. So what’s up with that? I have an associate who have a credit score of 600, DTI ROUGHLY 40 percent, new BMW note 1000 a month, no down payment, she makes about 28,000 annually.. she got approved for a 400,000 home no contingencies on underwriting. @@cjhoward409 I didn’t say it was always true. My experiences and background compared to my non brown associates, 90 percent of the would get approved for more things and didn’t have to supply much information when needing a loan etc. I work very hard, balance my credit utilization and money pretty well. My husband is only lower than me because he doesn’t believe in credit cards, he’s makes very well in his career, payed off his student loan debt within the first two years of us dating. We’ve been married for 5 years now (together for almost 12) and have no debt but our 2021 Corolla. I like luxury but my husband keeps me in check far as reminding me of our limits.. when it comes to cars etc. I thank him so much for being financially literate and frugal. I also believe in the location of where you live. The demographics here are totally different. The Caucasians here are almost the minority now. They’re more migrants/immigrants from Mexico and Puerto Rico living here now. People call it little Mexico now 😅

I'm sorry but this is simply not true... I'm on my third home now and I'm a contractor and work for some cash, the amount you qualify for always came down to how much you make and can prove, credit score just had to be above 650 I think. They ALWAYS want you to have 1 or 0 credit cards or lines of credit that is not used up at all, and 1 car payment at most. Fanny Mae and Freddy Mac ALWAYS come up with something. If they see you have plenty of down payment money but your debt to income will be very close they might ask you to pay a card or car off. Every house I've bought required me to pay off my credit card and get rid of any extras and cannot have more then 1 car payment that isn't so much $ it puts your debt to income In a bad spot.

This guy is in sales…he tells you (Gail) what you need to hear. I doubt he stayed with the plan. He only got motivated when his cash cow quit her job. “sacred weekends”, good God!

From what I understood he was making 93k a year and she was making nothing and maybe minimum wage after getting that job. I think it was very dumb of her to add his debt to her house. However, without him in this scenario she would lose it anyway.

@@potato1084 You know, he does. I always liked him… up until about 6-9 months ago. I think he’s out of touch with reality. Telling people to go by a $1,000 cheap car until they can save up for a better one. $1,000 for a car right now ???? Hahahahaha. We have a truck in our driveway that doesn’t run… needs about $1,000 worth of work, but we could sell it now for $3,000 !!! $1,000 now would buy something in the junk yard. $1,000 car, 25 years ago (which is his experience when he was broke) was doable.

I prefer Robert Kiyosaki. He has lots of free resources on his YT channel and website. But it's wise to find a financial mentor that works for you.

@MulberryEllie Dave Ramsey is not only out of touch now, but he easily gets emotionally triggered when asked certain questions, even when they come from his supporters. You can't financially advise people in 2022 based off of ideas formed decades ago and be so vehemently opposed to new perspectives, although his general concepts are still helpful for some.
