It happens from childhood. All fears of damnation are vividly pushed on the family. The parent’s beliefs become the child’s truths. Strange codependence builds. And the cycle repeats. The radicalized child becomes the radicalized parent.

Your mother is very likely living with severe mental health disregulation. She needs help, although regardless of what she is open to, it's healthy to keep your boundaries with her.

Why were they all ever living under the same roof?? The wife doesn’t want him to suppress his feelings but he HAD to suppress his feelings to tolerate her mother. If he didn’t suppress his feelings, he would’ve left her a long time ago.

Looks like a REALLY good series... unfortunately it's not available to stream in every country. it would be great if this issue could be considered, because there are still many stereotypes around therapy and many people don't get the support they need because of this. Such a well made series could help to get therapy a better imagine and of course more people watch the series.

People need to get serious help before they get into a relationship and drag someone else down. It's not your partner's responsibility to fix your issues because they will become collateral damage. Relationships shouldn't be this complicated.

It's not that perfect though. Some issues don't even surface until you have another person in your life. It's like physics: calculating the movement of one body is far easier and more predictable than two. A true relationship is a paradigm shift, you learn shit about yourself and you behave in ways, good or bad, you never thought you would. What is important is that when you see your partner is hurting, you are willing to seek help and engage in resolving the conflict with them, whether that means sustaining the relationship or not.

Mother is terrible.. Get rid of mother. Toxic, personality disordered.. Wife needs to grow up and stop acting like a 10 year old child. Wife needs to make her husband a priority not her toxic mother. Never let your parents dictate how you live your adult life

These two are clearly in love with each other. They need to keep working at their relationship - probably need to set some goals together. I'm not getting that whole mom /Christian thing. It sounds like a mask for something else. Obviously the mom/daughter relationship is toxic.
