It is going through some horrible, egregious politics, and a bit of humanity has been lost right now, but I have the highest hopes that we will overcome. I was actually in KY All-State Choir in 2008, and it's just as amazing to be a part of it. The amazing thing is that it isn't rehearsed. What happens is that around 10 pm, if I'm remembering right (it could have been 9), you leave whatever room you're in and stand around the balconies. Someone starts with "O" and then everyone joins in. People sing whatever parts and harmonies they know, and it turns into this. It isn't directed either, so the tempo is just sort of felt and decided upon in the moment by the singers. We even all raced back after the official concert to sing it one last time, and my mom said it was the best part of the night for her.

The song is based on a poem written by Francis Scott Key as he witnessed the Battle of Ft. McHenry outside of Baltimore during the War of 1812 when Britain tried to retake her colonies. It was the decisive battle of the war and we all know the outcome. The building they are singing in is surely a John Portman designed, Hyatt Regency. Their classic interior atrium is the hallmark of his design. The best I have personally ever seen is the Hyatt Regency Embarcadaro in San Francisco.

I want to thank you for loving my country like you do so many here don’t and it’s insane we have had our problems and still do but I still we seee a beacon of hope in the world don’t listen to the us media we are not a racist nation we had issues and we still do but we love all people and all cultures and want everyone to be all they can be when they come here and yes we freed more people through history than anyone … yes we’ve screwed up badly sometimes but our heart is genuine …. I’m from Delaware the first state to ratify the Declaration of Independence … love new zeal and read a lot about it

Dude I remember the day I was invited to goto the one lats year. It was fun and quite beautiful! The voices of the other choir members bounced off the walls and echoed everywhere rattling everything a bit. The 10 story high building was filled with members of the choir including me. I was so fun and I think mu uncle filmed the one I went to in 2020

When I heard this song sung in my first international fight it made me so proud to be an American and seeing so many of my countrymen stand with pride in random areas of the arena with all different ethnic backgrounds filled me with strength and pride I can’t describe, that day I was no longer a Pacific Islander I realized I’m an American till I die! 🇺🇸 and to hell with all the people that crap on my country and live in it at the same time

I was a member of the Kentucky Allstate choir in 2002. Before before everyone goes to sleep the 1st night, We go out and sing the national anthem as a tradition. It's Almost a sacred experience and tradition. I miss it

Yes, it was. And with the way things are now in 2021, it's heartbreaking. Tears just flow for this beautiful country and it's Patriots who love it still. Even though there are some that are trying to destroy it, it still stands strong and we will overcome this cancer that is in power and we shall prevail!!!!!!!!

I have seen it before, and I always Love hearing them sing our National Anthem. It still brings tears to this old Sailor's eyes. Courtney, if you like the US Military videos, you might want to watch a Navy Retirement Ceremony. You have my permission to make a video of you watching my Retirement Ceremony I have posted on my channel. The Navy Retirement Ceremony is a very special way the Navy says Farewell to a retiring Sailor.

You should hear Tim McGraw singing "If you're Reading this." it's a song about a last letter from a soldier to his wife he sung it live to families that lost someone in the war.

3:58 To answer your question Courtney, it made this old Veteran tear up, as our National Anthem always does for me. There are many stories about our Flag, our Anthem is just one put to song, and our Pride for our flag. In those days (1700’s-1800’s) and some to this very day, would rather die than let our flag fall to the ground. Our flag stands for freedom, and that freedom was not free, but paid for by the blood of Americans that fought for it.

Singing is the cure, for whatever it is you're going through. if you 14, or 94, you can sing a song, and keep that melody in your heart, and the harmonies will keep you going, evening in your darkest days. Keep the whole world singing.
