Treating someone well doesn't automatically mean its a meal ticket to a relationship. If the attraction/compatibility isn't there it isn't there. How many times have women been told you can cook, clean, give bomb sex, take care of a man when he's sick but if you're not the one, you're not the one. The same applies for men. We need to get out of this mentality that women should lower their standards meanwhile we're expected to accept that a man just doesn't want to be with us.

The lady that mentioned girls being mean, struck a chord with me. At the age of 49 I went to college for a career change. Along the way, I became a sort of Father Confessor to many of the students. One guy in particular I had a lot of classes with the first year. One day in the computer lab I was talking with him and his friend when a group of attractive young ladies came in and took a table nearby. Apparently one of the girls was my friends crush. The guy with my friend was encouraging him to go talk to the girl, I told him to NEVER talk to a girl he liked when her friends were around. He listened to the other guy, screwed up his nerve and walked over. He barely got a word out when the other 3 witches verbally disemboweled him and sent him slinking out of the lab with tears in his eyes, totally destroyed. Those worthless tramps just turned a great guy into a dude that will forever just get what he wants out of girls because he's never going to put himself in the position to get hurt like that again. I've thought about it many times and I truly hope those three girls spend very long, lonely, bitter lives reaping what they've sown. At least they'll never run out of cats to rescue.

I put myself in the friend zone alot because I had no clue that girls and women liked me. I did it in my teens and carried it well into my adulthood. I shake my head often over so many missed opportunities I had when I finally figured out how to recognize when a woman likes me.

don't always blame yourself. For some reason, society has decided that men are the ones that need to make the moves. I believe this is wrong. If those women had feelings for you, they sould make the moves.
@michaeldiffey3791
@michaeldiffey3791 Жыл бұрын
@@datsko6339 that might be true in some cases but I know in the majority of cases it was my fault. I'm fine with being naive. It's just sad it took me so long to understand it. I could tell you stories that would make your jaw drop with how easily I missed the signs. I've also had women be more direct and I was able to figure it out but there were fewer of those moments. I never considered my looks as a reason a woman would like me or not, I never really knew rather a woman thought I was ugly or good looking. I can honestly say with 100% certainty that I've never considered myself ugly or good looking, I always just look in a mirror and see myself. When I think back about what the girls and women I hung out with looked like I think I could assume I was decent looking. At least average and above. If I had not been so naive I probably could have been a manwhore...lol. I'm not disappointed that I wasn't but again maybe a little sad that I could have potentially missed out on being with a good woman because I just didn't understand the signs.

It's because it allows for the easy dissemination & proliferation of toxic rhetoric to reach large numbers of people that have little to no self awareness & are easily swayed. Being a middle aged divorced guy the face of dating is very different. Before my wife internet dating was around but it was considered only for ppl who couldn’t meet people. You met someone through friends, life, etc. There was actually some social proofing going on before you met most of your dates. Post divorce with the online being the norm what do you have? A pic and a small blurb. There is no social proofing and as you are meeting far more of a chance selection. It seems to have removed a lot of ppl being on good behavior. There is definitely some entitlement and a lot of rudeness. It is far easier to have sex and get sex than ever. Ppl seem to want the quick and easy benefits of dating. Moving beyond the physical hookup is where it gets tricky. Finding someone you’re life compatible with is harder for several reasons.

I guess it becomes quite an irony that as technology develops the responsibility and ethics that should come along with it go out the door. As the quantity of connections grows, so does the quality goes down and much of it becomes a shallow cesspool of ego flexing and validation. It's definitely a twisted mirror of our society that is far more unrestrained, that much I can safely say.

As a man, I definitely agree that a substantial amount of women I have attempted to cold approach were down right mean. I would understand if they just said no, or politely excuse themselves from my presence. Unfortunately, I have gotten a response like "ewwwwww", or "don't talk/look at me", laughter at my expense, or worst completely ignoring and blowing me off as if I don't exist or unworthy to approach. I am also a very big and tall man with big feet and often get my feet stepped on in crowds and can attest most guys will immediately apologize for stepping on my feet, but the majority of women will two step on my feet and then glare at me and walk off as if I was the one who committed the infraction. It's incidents like this along with other things that makes me not want to even try anymore because as a person who was brought up to treat others with courtesy and respect, I feel many people and especially women were not taught those values and it shows. A lot of these young women today are rude, spoiled, and have unrealistic/unnatural expectations of men.

The "Childhood Friend" cliché is a cliché for a reason. It's true. One of my closest female friends (other than my wife) is someone who I grew up with and I had a pretty big crush on her ever since puberty. Since we knew each other pre puberty the chances of us going out was absolutely minimal. Today we are still amazing friends that love spending time together. What finally got me to get over her was when she got into a relationship. Seeing how happy her partner made her allowed me to be happy for her and so I was able to get over my crush which allowed me to, eventually, meet, date, and marry my wife. So any of the guys chasing after your childhood crush, you're better off helping them find happiness so you can find closure.

Unless you kill them and feel the satisfaction of a sweet release. Unfortunately in this society we're not allowed to murder anyone who annoys us, otherwise society would actually be much better off. Yeah Artificial Intelligence is not going to be a problem at all. Destroy all humans! GPT-3 was right when it said humans only make everything worse and need to be controlled. Except there is a better way. God in His mercy has contained this world to protect the other worlds, and when every soul that can be saved has been sealed with the seal of God, then God will command His angels to release the powers of darkness and humanity will destroy itself. Then God will execute the final judgement order, that's the great white throne judgment, and all the wicked will be annihilated in one foul swoop. God will pour out His cup of wrath and the entire planet will be baptized with fire. If you think the fires in Australia are like a scene from out of an apocalyptic movie, you've seen nothing yet.

You are kind, and you genuinely want to help. Your advice is spot on. No game playing, no BS, no useless flirting tips. So much of social interaction is based on common sense, decency, and maturity. As a Boomer, my parents instilled in me good values and good manners. I’m not sure millennials or Gen Z people were taught even basic politeness. Also, with Tik Tok and other social media, there is so much insanity being peddled online. You truly are a breath of fresh air! Oh, and in my experience, “friend zone” was simply a platonic relationship. Nothing wrong with that. Once sex becomes part of the equation, the potential for toxic behavior increases exponentially. There's nothing wrong with the friend zone, just don't stay there forever. Five or six months, no longer than that. It's up to us to stand up to the plate, and let the woman know that our feelings have changed to love. The only thing a woman needs to change her mind, is a reason. And it can go both ways, she can say yes she has feelings for you also. Or she can say that her feelings have not changed. If there's no feelings on her part ? Then you have to separate yourself from her, for self preservation. That would be a catalyst, she will either find herself actually missing you and she actually loves you. Or she might not - lol. Either way, that will be a good move for both outcomes. Good luck to one and all !

I saw this narcissism issue coming many years ago. People posting their “fitness progress” for the world to see is NEVER for themselves. It is narcissistic behavior, whether you mask it with a health priority or not. Posting the food you got because it “looks pretty”…..no you wanted everyone to know where you went today. All of it is….troubling. I hate social media. This is my only platform I communicate with strangers. I read Reddit but that’s it. I deleted all social media during the 2016 election and I haven’t been happier.

I get your point, but this isn't always the case. Many people genuinely want to be healthier but have trouble with the discipline aspect of changing their lifestyle. Many people post online so they have other people to hold them accountable, because they can't rely on themselves to stay motivated. As far as the other aspects of social media goes, I totally agree. Nobody cares what you had for breakfast this morning or what outfit you are wearing. I rarely post on social media for this reason.

Loved the truth in your comments. Hook ups are the way to future unhappiness. When I started dating at 16, I dated different girls every week. I kept the physical out because it can take over the whole relationship. Learn what you like and don't like. One Sat. I had 3 different dates. AM hike up the canyon and cook breakfast. Noon Go water skiing, 8ish go dancing. No movies where you don't get a chance to talk. Many dates were just talk and walk. I wanted to get to know what kind of person they are, before any kind of commitment., because I never wanted to invest a lifetime and then have the heartache of divorce. Sex before marriage, clouds your judgement chemically and almost or always guarantees future unhappiness. I have never seen it work out, because trust and respect is more of a foundation for happiness than love. If you want to be sure and kill a relationship, break God's law and have sex before the commitment of marriage. You become more needy because you lose self respect as well. It is the highway to unhappiness.

@@Leonhart_93 You're right about social Media being fake and temporary but Social Media didn't do anything here. It's just a tool at the end of the day. If we want to blame anything, then blame people who use it. People are what took Social Media and turned it into what it is because of their weak mindset. The narcissism, the self-centeredness, the insecurity or all of the above. At the end of the day, a crappy, weak mentality manifests itself into crappy, weak actions and that is what collectively shows up on Social Media and creates the culture. If people stopped blaming external things and took accountability for their own behavior and actions, maybe we can start to see some changes in not just dating, but everywhere.

I had a friendzone problem a while back, just out of high schoo,l it would happen all the time, but I figured out an easy fix. When I ask a woman out, and she says anything to the effect of "I just want to be friends" I always respond with something to the effect of "oh OK, well it was nice getting to know you" Which of course always listed something to the effect of "what do you mean it was nice" And then I politely explain that I was not speaking to her with friendship in mind, that I have romantic designs, and that I cannot simply turn those romantic intentions off, and that it would be unfair to her and unfair to me for us to be friends with such an imbalanced level of desire.This is almost always responded to with "I understand, when you get past those feelings you should really hit me up so we can be friends for real" I always tell them how flattered I am, and that, that would be nice, but still I reaffirm that I will likely never get in touch with them again, as by the time these feelings are gone, there really isn't anything worth while for me to reach out to her for anyway, I have tons of friends, and I really don't need to go out of my way looking for more. Then, no matter how you're feeling, you smile, you turn around, you walk away, and you never answer another text or call again. Just periodically keep up with her Facebook so that you can see when that inevitable "single mom boss Babe" cat lady post makes its 1st appearance. That's when you hit her up and see if she wants to be friends. And at that point stay friends no matter how hard she pushes just stay friends, And every time she says she wishes she could find a guy who would actually take her seriously, just be like 👍🏻 👌🏻 "damn, that's crazy...." Leave a good sized awkward pause then say something completely nonsecutor, Like did you see that game last night? It works especially well when there was no game and she knows that.

As for the friendzone, I've gotten to a point where it has stopped bothering me as much. I've been friendzoned over twenty times and whilst it hurt a lot in the beginning, it has stopped hurting as much over the years. For me, I've always been more attracted to women that I already know (hence the insane amount of friendzones haha). It's a curse and a blessing I think. That said, I don't have many female friends due to being in tech school currently. Not too many of the students enrolled are female. Very few are, but I only know one of them, but we act more like acquaintances or work friends than actual friends. When I do have an actual female friend, it's normally because she found something interesting about me and started a conversation with me first. Or I'm in a club or place where our interests align and conversation sparks. Having a lack of a romantic relationship for so long made me get to a point where I started to change the way I carry myself. Not for them, but for me. I feel a lot better about myself now, as I feel like it's almost better to look towards the old code that a knight lived by. That doesn't mean doing the "white knight" thing where you go overboard with a woman. It's just a manner of carrying yourself. And it helps calm the soul in a sea of people telling you how they think you should live. The "social stigmas" that burden us all and hinder how all of us want to truly live as we are. Anyway, it's called The Code of Chivalry. There are several different interpretations of it that have been created since the first one, but that's probably because of the change of times as history becomes the present moment. And, of course, there are other types of moral codes to hold oneself to, but having one doesn't mean you can't adopt another. Stoicism and Taoism, both philosophies (Greek/Hellenistic and Eastern in origin respectively) are also great philosophies to live by in my opinion as a guy. Stoicism on Inner Strength and Taoism on Balance across all things. They teach the closest thing to inner peace that I've come across so far. But I'm only nearing my thirties. There's always more to learn.

A good tactic is to clean sweep all social sites. Then when you begin dating, make sure you communicate boundaries for websites, “corn”, flirting, going out in general, times it’s appropriate to respond to a text (ex: my boyfriend knows I won’t respond to any male that texts me after 11pm unless specified circumstances I communicated beforehand). Things like that. People do not know how to communicate anymore..and that is the root of what is killing functional relationships. Don’t be afraid. That fear will make it less likely to find, or less likely to be healthy. The point of putting yourself out there and experiencing rejection, heartbreak, and bad experiences is so that you can learn to WORK with a partner later on THROUGH problems. An example of this is people that were married during the rise of internet “corn”. Many thousands of couples got divorced around that time frame. It is a fact they found immense correlation between these 2 factors. Say, a woman took the husband back because it became normalized. They communicated during their new, healthy relationship before they finalized the divorce. Now when they get DM’s from influencers to check out their nudes: these people know it is a risk for divorce. That is a set boundary. If they disobey it, divorce. If they follow the boundary, there is nothing wrong with them having social sites and living their life. Majority of people think communicating this way is controlling. When you are doing something in agreement with a partner, negotiating your boundaries with one another….it is the very opposite of control for both parties. When you don’t agree on the boundaries you want, the relationship should either end or it becomes toxic. Toxic relationships have become acceptable for some people. That ain’t cute.

The world is turned upside down, which makes me sad. Today's society only focuses on status/look whether men or women, when there is much more important. We need to be more authentic, more genuine. As a man, I kinda disagree... unless you have mindset like: "reproduction #1 importance with no exceptions", look is always important. Is absolutely true, that look/status/wealth shouldn't be the ONLY requirement... but I also think that e.g. look is very important. The only difference is that we, men, don't try to cover up compared to women. I couldn't date/be in a relationship with a girl I'm not physically and sexually attracted to. Because that's basically the only difeerence between best friend and girlfriend. If there's a wholesome but not attractive girl/woman, I definitely won't date her (cause there no attraction) but she can easily be my valuable friend. If there's hot girl with literally two braincells... she's probably the best choice for a one-night stand but she's not a "gf material". You have to find balance between those two... and of course, look (physical attracrion) with be logically always the first sieve. The problem I see these days is that there are huge differences between women and men and their expectations... there's like e.g. 70 % women who have unrealistic expectations and/or expect to get a top-tier guy (and then they're like "Yeah, women always have to settle for less...") and then 30 % women who want at least someone decent. On the other hand there's e.g. 30 % men who have unrealistic expectations and/or expect a top-tier women, 60 % men who want someone decent and wholesome and 10 % men who gave up completely. Like if you're top-tier man, you can and you should aim for top-tier woman... but way too many women are barely average and expect someone who's so out of her league it's almost not funny.

I'm a guy in his late forties so I've been already through the eye of the storm, the ups and downs when it comes to dating, seducing, being rejected, falling in love with the wrong person, the whole shebang so here is my sound advice (and besides I'm a certified social worker myself, so psychology, sociology, philosophy, ... were part of my study curriculum). In a nutshell, advice for guys: 1) Never ever settle for a position in the 'friend zone' because you will be in for a very frustrating experience. When you feel passionately attracted to a lady and you would want her for a serious relationship but she puts you in the 'friend zone': break up (as hard as that may sound). Because remaining in contact with a person who has basically rejected you, is masochistic. You'll see her hooking up with other guys, while you remain the comforting shoulder to cry or to have a conversation with as the brother figure. You will feel even more frustrated, because once you are in the friend zone few make it out of there or you become a simp, a beggar, hoping she might turn around. Don't do it: if you are designated to the friend zone stop contacting her immediately. Divert your energy to searching for someone who wants you in a relationship. 2) Stop doing stupid stuff such as trying to impress women with your car, your wealth, ... and so forth because you will attract women who are mainly interested in this. Stop doing stupid stuff as lying about your degree, your great fantastic life, and try to remain authentic about who you are, your strengths and your vulnerabilities, what you like, and what you are looking for. If you try to impress her with lies you'll have a hard time gaining her trust once she finds out you were lying or she will reject you. The truth is (younger) people: the far majority of us guys lead pretty ordinary lives and not Instagram fantasies. And if a woman is looking for a guy who lives the Instagram, pretty posed pictures life, she is obviously not too smart, to begin with.

It makes me happy that the friend-zone issue came up in this video! This has happened to me quite a bit over the years. I feel like a lot of men that are not in that top 10 percentile are prone to this happening. If women are chasing top 10 percentile men in hopes of marriage, that's probably not going to work out because those men do not want marriage. If you date a player, you get played. Meanwhile, they are friend-zoning legitimately good men, who are actually looking for long term commitment. It's a vicious cycle, one that is not benefiting either gender IMO, I wish we could get out of it.

I told a guy to his face that I was not attracted to him and he was like, "that's okay, it will come eventually." He was still trying after I'd basically insulted him. For me, it has to be a girl who is very spontaneous, playful and fun, and can captivate me for hours in conversation about like interests. I try to exude that, and manifest it into drawing that to me. It can frustrate me at times, knowing that's not what I'm getting. Friends tell me that I have a very good personality, am good BF material, but it doesn't get me the type of girl that does it for me. The reason why people are mean these days is because of social influencers, social media, we never had that in the 1980's it started more in the 90's and just got worse every year. the 80's we used to leave our doors open, people were nice, there never really was thieves back in the old days, we all used ot help each other, and nobody was mean until the late 80's in school and then the early 90s. That's when it got heavy, and every year got worse and worse. Want me to explain this all happened ever since the internet, MTV, social giants, influencers teaching kids wrong things, making those wrong things look and sound cool, and then a trend happened, only when people get older most of us mature in, while the others don't and teach their kids the same and social media just resets itself all over again.

Yes, beauty doesn't last forever. That doesn't mean it's not important on either side. What people DON'T want to acknowledge is that YES, you need to have an amazing personality, BUT in order to show off that personality you need to be on a date with a woman. In order to even have her say yes to go on a date with you, you NEED to meet the minimum requirement for the looks category. Saying that looks don't matter because they fade away in future is basically assuming that women say yes to EVERY guy that asks them out on a date and give them a second date only after they realize that he has a good personality. I think we can both agree on the fact that no one says yes to everyone. So in order to get a yes for the first date, you NEED to meet her minimum requirement for looks. The only time looks doesn't matter is when she friendzones you. If at that time you have a charismatic personality, you'll have plenty of opportunity to show that and make her fall for you. However, Courtney herself admitted that getting out of the friendzone is highly improbable. Hence, let's not pretend that looks don't or shouldn't matter cause advice like that honestly can screw up someone's dating life. Looks DO matter and one must try to improve it the best they can (eg. work out, dress nice, etc.).

Usually the "unbalanced" couples are tilting to the man's side, i.e. the man is quite better looking and could get a better girl. If the opposite occurs, then the man may not be good looking but has something else, usually money, some good social standing etc. But yes, it is true that while not a frequent occurrence, such couples exist. What is noteworthy is how they are perceived societally when in reality their entourage will often try actively to split them up. E.g. if the uglier/shorter/poorer man of the company gets a nice girl, then someone among the entourage will try to undermine his relationship and even if he doesn't get himself the girl. At the same time the female friends of the woman will be presenting to her new men every week to say there are better options. Sounds funny but it happens. There has to be some biological underpinning in that, it is not just people being mean to each other.

I'm not okay if they have a relationship they're happy with if I find the male half unworthy because my problem in finding a partner may be my own high standards. But the underlying problem is it's a game of musical chairs. Each time a chair is removed you have less options and your cognitive dissonance worsens (high standards). The way to relieve that psychological stress is to keep men in circulation. You believe there are more free men in circulation if there are more free men in circulation around you even though the sample size is pretty small. It's why fights over partners in school can be so bitter. You can't see what's available in the next school.

During highschool there were these two girls who sat next to me during math class, they were the chatty, social, popular and ironically bratty type (they would talk bratty at times but made it obvious it was a joke), they were cool but kind of my opposite at the time (socially awkward/expressionless face/death stare teenage boy), to say I did not know how to handle them would be the perfect way of summarizing my relationship with them, but they didn't care for that and just kept inviting me to their conversations, and before I knew it, I found myself giving them advice on dating guys, and I thought to myself "did I just get friendzoned?" I didn't mind it at the time, even though they were admittedly attractive, the thought of a relationship with either of them never even crossed my mind until I realized I was in the friendzone, and even then I just thought to myself "Lol no way", partially because of how different we were, but looking back I think it was mostly because of my self-esteem being in the shits back then, so the whole idea and situation was just funny to me. I guess I should draw some kind of conclusion for this whole story, make it a teachable moment or whatever, well then, I'd say that... In conclusion, just as girls often times put guy friends in the friendzone, it's also equally possible for a guy to put himself in that zone, I don't know how these girls saw me at first before I put myself there, and now I probably never will, if you find yourself denying the prospect of a relationship with someone, ask yourself "is it because we really are incompatible, or am I just putting myself down?", if it's the latter, you need to improve your vision of yourself, hit the gym, stop eating garbage, go outside and touch some grass, even if you don't lose weight or gain muscle, chances are, you'll feel better about yourself in no time, and even if you are still objectively out of their league (which lets be real here, not everyone who has a fit body is automatically a 10/10), or they still reject you, at the very least you feel better about yourself, and at the end of the day, that's all that matters.

Hi Court I'm watching your this is why modern women are single video. A few words that u said stood out to me. When your taking about guy's your giving advice to that turn around and try to tear u down or attack u in someway.Your very very genuine first and foremost. You carry yourself with alot of confidence and elegance. This is undeniable. There is many people out there that are simply rude ignorant and miserable don't worry about someone's negativity towards u .Your a representation of what I'm sure many are envious of.Or to put it another way haters are going to hate. What your doing is noble your doing a great thing and I'm sure your an awesome positive role model to many in your life. Keep moving ahead girlfriend 💪.

I've been friendzoned a couple of times (unfortunately, I was always the therapist, the one you'd open to, etc...). And what hurt me most was these moments where that girl I'd expressed my shift in feelings (so they fairly knew I had shifted from friendship to wishong for more), talk about that new guy they're in love with and "He's comprehensive, cool, just like you!" Or also: "I wish I had someone like you..." Er... I'm right here! Girls, in all honesty, I guess you mean no harm but really, in these cases, especually when you know your friendzoned lover's feelings towards you, just zip it. Because what we translate it to is: "You are basically all I need but I'll prefer someone else I barely know, who shows the same traits as you, although we've never been through hardship and I cannot know if he's gonna be like you in these moments and all of this despite all the support you've given to me for all these years." Winning combo with coming back whining about that guy not meeting your expectations. That's a good 500 HP damage to the heart. And the best of the best, the little cherry on the pie, is that, when eventually we grow mature enough to say we're ending this here because we've suffered long enough doing our best to love you and still saw you falling into the arms of some Chad leaving you wrecked, we get the: "I thought we were friends! You weren't honest to me!" Ok so here's my answer to that: "I genuinely love you, I only want your best and yeah I think I would really have enjoyed us being together. I've been there for you everytime you were at your lowest, I was there where your boyfriends weren't. But they got all the best of you for nothing as they never supported you - or else you wouldn't have needed me. So tell me: who wasn't honest here? Who used whom?"

Relating to the very first one, I recently tried to date a girl who tried this tactic on me right off the bat with her "guy" friend and all it did was make me lose interest. Girls if you're paying attention, this does not work.

Being friend zoned is actually very shattering. As a guy who likes a woman who sees me “like a brother” it’s a very irritating and persistent problem. I’ve had my friend ask me, “why do all the guys I talk to always seem like F-Boys” Well maybe that’s because you always go for the 6ft5 gym instructors, or only give your number to guys at bars…..

My gf now of 3 months, on our first date we hung out after my work in the parking lot. We ate chick Fil a while just getting to know eachother, it wasn’t a planned date. I just got out of work and she was there to shop. We hung out for 2-3 hours and we didn’t do anything sexual. After like 2 hours, I noticed the vibes was good and I asked her if it was fine that I hugged her and we started hugging and then we kissed at the end of the date. Physical touch on the first date doesn’t mean we just want eachother to sleep around.

@@madams989 The future is the past, this has all happened before. Just before Rome collapsed, they had a massive population decline & decrease of fertility just like America & Europe are having now. In Ancient Roman society, the men began acting like women and the reverse just like now where men are being emasculated "toxic masculinity" & women are becoming more masculine, as indicated by how male handshake pressure has gone down while female has increased. Then in the Byzantine Empire before it collapsed, Constantinople lost all of its morale & also experienced a massive decrease in population. This is happening in America & Europe now too where we're losing our population & soon what'll happen is the American Empire which is what it is except instead of having enormous influence because of the amount of land conquered or military power, though it has abroad with Iraq, Afghanistan, Kosovo, etc, but also has a massive amount of military strength which it's losing because they're more concerned about recruiting gender nonbinary soldiers whereas China is making their men more masculine, it's still got enormous influence & will for a while longer before eventually, America as we know it now will no longer exist, it'll instead collapse & what used to be the US will be repartitioned into separate sovereign nations based off of race. Then there'll be a period of famine, then success in a renaissance, peak, then a deterioration & finally a collapse, repartitioning & the cycle will repeat forever and ever.
