Dude said that Jeffrey had the cleanest/neatest apartment he ever visited in that building compared to other residents he’d visited there…Imagine being a tenant in the same building and finding out your serial killer neighbor with various rotting corpses lying around kept a more tidy apartment than you. 😬

And then as time went on, when he was saying that it “just got easier to kill” is when he got a little more messy from what I could tell. He said, I think, that he had three bodies in the tub that he moved around so he could shower. It’s still hard to imagine how clean an apartment could be after that.

He seems like a decent landlord. He just wanted everyone to be comfortable and addressed tenant concerns by offering cleaning services. He even went to inspect the apartment (which most managers don’t even do). By then Dahmer, probably made it look normal. Not to mention, he was responsible for over 40 other tenants so his focus wasn’t strictly on Dahmer.

He came off like a lazy slumlord. To your point (and his own) if majority of your tenants are complaining about this ONE tenant funking up the entire building why wouldn’t that tenant become your primary focus?? His presence was a nuisance to the building and instead of focusing on getting him out he is waxing poetical about wanting to “do business” with him. The only reason he eventually decided to evict him was because a potential tenant refused to move in because of the smell. He dgaf about the smell impacting other existing tenants despite repeated complaints but because he was starting to lose out on money he changed his tune. This man didn’t care about those other tenants. All he cared about was his bottom line: money. When I lived in apts with actual GOOD property managers they stayed on top of tenant complaints and always did their best to mitigate issues. Any strange smells reported were always thoroughly investigated if necessary, the super or maintenance was sent to check things out. This was blatant negligence.

Part of the problem with accusing the people who dismissed or overlooked Dahmer's suspicious behavior is because good people don't think about others around them being "bad," and certainly not killing and storing the bodies their victims where they live. I mean, it's so easy to point fingers now that we know, but face it, it's beyond comprehension of the ordinarily straight-up, law-abiding person what Dahmer did. We are still trying to figure all out, years later, still shaking our heads, thinking WTF?? I love the question: "So you thought it would be appropriate to form a partnership with Jeffrey Dahmer?" I don't think anyone wants to have that come at them. 🤣

I think another huge thing to consider is the times, serial killers weren’t such a wide known issue, mental health issues weren’t as “normal”, homosexuality wasn’t as accepted and viewed negatively, crime wasn’t as bad back then as it is today, on and on. A lot of people these days would be very concerned of any of the signs Dahmer exhibited, but it’s only BECAUSE of stories like Dahmer’s that we recognize these signs and question further even small things. Our knowledge of mental health issues, red flags, unhealthy obsessions etc, all have lead us to second guess and recognize concerning things and behaviors. All of this new knowledge is extremely helpful, the same reasons why we no longer allow our children to go out and about the same as parents used to, yes while crime is worse, it’s also more widely known about, and just like “normal people” are becoming smarter about their safety, criminals are becoming smarter about how to commit crimes. It’s all about the times

What's crazy is that I thought polices are trained to spot out the smell of rotten human flesh. I heard that rotten human flesh gave a particular smell. And there was a scene in the show where the police enter his apartment and the smell was so overwhelming they just walk out after leaving that boy back to jeffery. Ugh so frustrating!!
@squalli1297
@squalli1297 2 жыл бұрын
The smell was evident, but the police bought Jeffery's story of rotten meat in the freezer although bodies were hidden in plain sight. I believe he tried to cook the flesh off the bones by using Muriatic acid, but the acid only cooks, and will not preserve the flesh. Formaldehyde does a better job at preserving. I'm not sure what the combination of Muriatic acid smells like on human flesh. The PD would need to get a search warrant to dig deeper in his apartment. At 1st glimpse, you couldn't think he was a serial killer. He stood out like a sore thumb by living in a predominantly Black neighborhood & appeared to be decent law abiding citizen but the darkness & smell came to light.

I don't know think their ordinary officer training training involves morgue visits (my friend's dad was a Detective & was so traumatised by ond murder scene that he had mental health issues for years after ). There can be other explanations for bad smells. Also, I believe it was more of a chemical smell, from the acid dissolving the bodies and his apartment was otherwise well kept. I have seen a psychologist say that a normal, empathetic person will always look for other explanations, because our brains literally can’t process that level of evil. It’s unimaginable, you convince yourself there some other reason for the signs you’re seeing. It’s easy to lay blame in hindsight, but the blame sits 100% squarely on Dahmer’s shoulders.

Jeff was just " lucky". Everybody just "cooperated" so well with him. Taking his excuses with a grain of salt too many times. Never ever will meat that has gone bad or dead gold fish smell up almost an entire building. Also, thinking you'll get of cheap by not having to service a particular apartment because a particular tenant loves doing it themselves is an expensive joke. Dahmer was a very intelligent man. Most serial killers have a very high IQ, just like Ted Bundy and Edmund Kemper. I can't believe Kemper is still alive although the guy is like 7' tall and killed like 20 women and his own grandparents before he was 15 and then....after being RELEASED killed his mother. Serial Killere are quick thinkers and they know how to get out of sticky situations. Dahmer fascinates me though ...was he Pure Evil or was he sick in the head for real? Mr. Princewell isn't responsible for the any of JD's crimes. He visited apt 213 frequently to address the complaints about the foul smell but the apartment was clean so he didn't suspect foul play. To force the other tenants to endure the horrid smells for a year without taking action to see if the odor was in the walls is unacceptable. Jeffrey Dahmer probably laughed every time SP fell for his excuses. it seemed he got a thrill from toying with people's intelligence. Most of the men he solicited seemed desperate. he offered Tracy Edwards $100 to pose naked while the teenager was only offered $50. As JD sits in court he doesn't look remorseful. he got bored with the killings and then begin telling police, investigators and interviewers about how easy it was for him. Clearly a man who should've be aborted 😡
