When I was a kid, I had a Furby that wouldn't shut up, no matter what my family and I tried. My brother eventually grabbed a hammer, thinking that if he whacked it, it might shut off. It didn't. It only made horrifying, garbled noises reflective of the head injury it had just received. So my brother continued to strike it with the hammer until it eventually went silent. And all of its fur came off, revealing its terrifying robot skeleton. Truly traumatic.

Hey! As an active member of the furby community, I would like to advocate for the use of 3D printed faceplates you can buy on Etsy when building long bois! The reason for this is that furbys are limited in supply overall, there are many, but if you make too many long boys, there will be a signficant storage. Not to mention, removing faceplates can be difficult and whatever furby you buy will be unsalvageable afterwards, and trying to match fabric is basically impossible. Be ethical when creating long furbys, try to buy spines from local craftstores, doll armature looks great. The benefit to all of this is that you can use whatever type of fabric you want and it's guaranteed to match.
